â [avatar] "Hands down the best fantasy football information available. They have helped me dominate my league to the point that I'm called the Evil Empire by my league mates" - Rick Himes @bigisland31 â [] 1. BAL: Serious injury believed for J.K. Dobbins [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero](=) Updating a previous report, Baltimore Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins (Achilles) is believed to have suffered a torn Achilles tendon during the Week 1 game and is scheduled to undergo an MRI to confirm the injury, according to sources. Our view: Tough news for Dobbins once again. [Back to Top](#top) [] 2. IND: Jonathan Taylor eyeing Week 5 return [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter]() Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor (ankle) is planning to be able to resume playing as early as Week 5, when he is eligible to come off the Physically Unable to Perform list. According to a source, Taylor is 'going to pass his physical and could pass it today.' Our view: The buy low window is closing as it looks like Taylor could still get traded (with Ian Rapoport's source saying don't count out Miami) and otherwise will suit up when he is ready to come off of the PUP list. You might still be able to buy Taylor at a discount if the team in your league that drafted him starts 0-1 and loses badly this week. [Back to Top](#top)
â [] 3. CIN: Joe Burrow lays egg in Week 1 [Source: ESPN](=) Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow completed just 14-of-31 passes for 82 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 1 against the Cleveland Browns, while running for minus-1 yard on his only carry. He slipped to 1-5 in his career against the Browns, one of the NFL's strangest statistical oddities. Our view: The rainy weather, a new look Jim Schwartz Cleveland defense and Burrow just looking rusty all conspired to ruin Week 1 for the Bengals. They have been a slow starting team in recent years, but the Bengals and Burrow will need to wake up against a Baltimore team that could knock them down to a 0-2 start within the division next week. [Back to Top](#top) [] 4. ATL: Two touchdowns for Tyler Allgeier [Source: ESPN.com](=) Atlanta Falcons RB Tyler Allgeier rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries against the Carolina Panthers in Week 1. He also caught three passes for 19 yards during the game. Our view: Allgeier was on the field in the red zone a lot more than first round pick Bijan Robinson and has the look of a matchup RB2/Flex who might be more consistent than expect in the box score on the strength of his fit in this running game. He'll take aim at the Green Bay defense next week. [Back to Top](#top) [] 5. JAX: Calvin Ridley has terrific outing [Source: ESPN.com](=) Jacksonville Jaguars WR Calvin Ridley caught eight passes for 101 yards and one touchdown against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1. He was targeted 11 times during the game. Our view: Ridley is the clear #1 receiver and he could make it tough to rely on Christian Kirk if this trend continues. He was open all day against the Colts secondary and has a chance to be worth a lot more than the third round pick it took to land him in drafts. [Back to Top](#top) [] 6. ATL: Bijan Robinson plays well in Week 1 [Source: ESPN.com](=) Atlanta Falcons RB Bijan Robinson rushed for 56 yards on 10 carries against the Carolina Panthers in Week 1. He also caught six passes for 27 yards and one touchdown during the game. Our view: Robinson was in a committee with Tyler Allgeier, who did nothing to discourage the Atlanta coaches from changing their approach. He was still a hit in PPR leagues with strong volume in a very conservative passing game and a sensational touchdown that should make you feel good about taking him in the first round even though Tyler Allgeier might take more touchdowns from him than we expected. [Back to Top](#top) [] 7. BAL: Zay Flowers sharp in first NFL game [Source: ESPN](=) Baltimore Ravens WR Zay Flowers ended up with a game-high nine receptions in Week 1 against the Houston Texans, finishing with a team-high 78 yards and 10 targets. Our view: Flowers was clearly Lamar Jackson's #1 target and should continue to be heavily targeted with a higher ceiling in more competitive games. He has the look of an everyweek WR3/Flex who might level off as a WR2 in PPR leagues. The Bengals are up next for the Ravens. [Back to Top](#top) [] 8. CLE: Deshaun Watson accounts for two TDs [Source: ESPN](=) Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson completed 16-of-29 passes for 154 yards, one touchdowns and one interception in Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals, while also running for 45 yards and a score on five targets. Our view: Watson had a few moments of quality play but overall looked more like last year's mediocre version of himself than the fantasy force that he was in a Texans uniform. He did have a rushing score against an unaware defense late in the first half to make him a modest fantasy success today in tough conditions against a good defense. The Steelers defense was no match for the 49ers today, so if Watson struggles as a pass again next week against them, we'll have to lower expectations. [Back to Top](#top) [] 9. SF: Monster Week 1 line for Brandon Aiyuk [Source: ESPN](=) San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk finished with eight receptions for 129 yards and two touchdowns in Week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Our view: Aiyuk was dominant against a Steelers secondary that had no answer for him, even when coverage was perfect. The connection developing between Aiyuk and Brock Purdy is the stuff that fantasy dreams are made of. Overpaying for Aiyuk in a trade this week might look wise if this keeps up against the Rams next week. [Back to Top](#top) [] 10. SF: Christian McCaffrey had big day in Steel City [Source: ESPN](=) San Francisco 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey rushed 22 times for 152 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, while adding three grabs for 17 yards on five targets. Our view: McCaffrey didn't yield much work to Elijah Mitchell, and he broke a long score to help put this game out of reach. McCaffrey looks like he'll be worth the #1 overall pick if he can stay healthy. [Back to Top](#top) [] 11. GB: Two scores for Aaron Jones [Source: ESPN.com](=) Green Bay Packers RB Aaron Jones rushed nine times for 41 yards and a touchdown and caught two passes for 86 yards and a score in a 38-20 win over the Chicago Bears in Week 1. Our view: Jones was productive and explosive. He appeared to suffer a hamstring tweak later in the game but downplayed the severity saying he could have returned if the score had been closer. Still though, stay tuned to this one. [Back to Top](#top) [] 12. MIN: K.J. Osborn held in check [Source: ESPN.com](=) Minnesota Vikings WR K.J. Osborn caught three passes for 31 yards against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 1. He was targeted six times during the game. Our view: Osborn was targeted in the end zone more than once and drew a pass interference, so he could have had a solid fantasy day with a break on one of those plays. He's still a hold in deep leagues, but is probably somehow to swap out for a waiver wire pickup in typical leagues this week with the Eagles up on Thursday. [Back to Top](#top) [] 13. TB: Baker Mayfield throws two TDs [Source: ESPN.com](=) Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield went 21-for-34 for 173 yards and two touchdowns against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1. He also rushed for 10 yards on eight carries during the game. Our view: Mayfield was a hard-nosed runner when he needed to be and displayed more than adequate downfield chemistry with Mike Evans to support his value. Mayfield is still merely a depth hold in only 2QB/Superflex leagues, but he could help Evans and Chris Godwin turn into wins at ADPs that assumed the quarterback would be a limiting factor. Mayfield and Tampa will try to get to 2-0 against the Bears next week. [Back to Top](#top) [] 14. CHI: Darnell Mooney scores in loss [Source: ESPN.com](=) Chicago Bears WR Darnell Mooney caught four of his seven targets for 53 yards and a touchdown in a 38-20 loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 1. Our view: With DJ Moore mostly quiet, Mooney seemed to have the attention of Justin Fields. [Back to Top](#top) [] 15. BAL: Gus Edwards sees eight carries [Source: ESPN](=) Baltimore Ravens RB Gus Edwards registered eight carries for 32 yards in Week 1 against the Houston Texans, and he was not targeted in the pass game. Our view: Edwards ran better than Justice Hill, but Hill got the touchdowns. Edwards is better suited for short yardage running than Hill, so this could be fluid and make Edwards the better fantasy pickup in the long run with JK Dobbins out for the year. Both Edwards and Hill should be picked up, and if Edwards is significantly cheaper because he didn't score, he is probably the better pickup. [Back to Top](#top) [] 16. CHI: Lackluster opener for DJ Moore [Source: ESPN.com](=) Chicago Bears WR DJ Moore caught both of his targets for 25 yards in a 38-20 loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 1. Our view: The Bears passing game never seemed in synch and Moore's production suffered. [Back to Top](#top) [] 17. GB: Jordan Love sharp in the opener [Source: ESPN.com](=) Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love completed 15 of his 27 passes for 245 yards and three touchdowns and rushed three times for 12 yards in a 38-20 win over the Chicago Bears in Week 1. Our view: Love answered critics and questions with an excellent game. He looked poised and in control of the offense. [Back to Top](#top) [] 18. HOU: Dameon Pierce mostly bottled up [Source: ESPN](=) Houston Texans RB Dameon Pierce rushed 11 times for just 38 yards in Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens, while adding two grabs for nine yards on three targets. Our view: Pierce was one of Week 1's biggest disappointments, with no plays of note and Devin Singletary getting more carries than some expected. Pierce did dominate running back targets and may still be worth an RB2 start against the Colts defense that allowed two running back scores this week. Name a more powerful structure than the [Eagles QB sneak. Weâll wait.]()â â [] 19. IND: Michael Pittman catches TD pass [Source: ESPN.com](=) Indianapolis Colts WR Michael Pittman Jr. caught eight passes for 97 yards and one touchdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1. He was targeted 11 times during the game. Our view: Pittman was the clear focus of the passing game, and he was on the same page with rookie Anthony Richardson in a great sign for his value this year. Rookie running quarterbacks don't usually create strong fantasy plays at WR1, but Pittman might defy that trend with head coach Shane Steichen's help this year. [Back to Top](#top) [] 20. JAX: Evan Engram catches five passes [Source: ESPN.com](=) Jacksonville Jaguars TE Evan Engram caught five passes for 49 yards against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1. He was targeted five times during the game. Our view: Engram was mostly used in the very short passing game, but he did break one long gain. His fantasy result was actually excellent for a player taken among the top 10 tight ends, and he's healthy heading into a Week 2 matchup against the Chiefs. [Back to Top](#top) [] 21. NO: Derek Carr tops 300 yards in win [Source: ESPN.com](=) New Orleans Saints QB Derek Carr completed 23 of his 33 pass attempts for 305 yards, a touchdown and an interception in a 16-15 win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 1. Our view: Derek Carr looked like Derek Carr quietly delivering a solid game. He seemed comfortable in the offense with his new weapons. [Back to Top](#top) [] 22. ATL: Drake London held off stat sheet [Source: ESPN.com](=) Atlanta Falcons WR Drake London was targeted one time during the Week 1 game against the Carolina Panthers and finished with zero receptions. Our view: This was a disaster for London's fantasy teams. He was relevant last year with worse quarterback play, although the team didn't have as compelling a receiving option in the backfield as Bijan Robinson. London will be a better play in more competitive games, and next week's tilt with Green Bay has potential to be just that. It's reasonable to bench London next week, but don't drop him. [Back to Top](#top) [] 23. JAX: Christian Kirk held to one catch [Source: ESPN.com](=) Jacksonville Jaguars WR Christian Kirk caught one pass for nine yards against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1. He was targeted three times during the game. Our view: You can't feel good about starting Kirk until he puts up two good weeks in a row after this result. We knew Calvin Ridley's presence was going to hurt someone in this offense, and even if it changes from week to week, this is a clear demonstration of Kirk's weekly floor, and it came in a good matchup and good game from Trevor Lawrence. Kirk will take on the Chiefs next week. [Back to Top](#top) [] 24. BAL: Marcus Williams may have torn pec [Source: NFL.com]() Updating a previous report, Baltimore Ravens CB Marcus Williams (pectoral) is believed to have suffered a torn pectoral muscle during the Week 1 game, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. He is scheduled to undergo an MRI to confirm the injury. Our view: Williams is a key performer in a Ravens secondary that has an injured CB1 in Marlon Humphrey. They'll be tested next week against the Bengals if Joe Burrow can shake off the rust that slowed the offense in Cleveland this week. [Back to Top](#top) [] 25. CLE: Amari Cooper targeted seven times [Source: ESPN](=) Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper was good for three grabs for 37 yards and seven targets in Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Our view: Cooper didn't stand out as a clear #1 with Elijah Moore matching him in targets. The Browns offense should also continue to tilt run heavy as long as their defense keeps playing like this. We should still try to get Cooper in as a WR3/Flex against a Steelers secondary that Brandon Aiyuk just lit up, but if Cooper puts up a similiar line Monday, it's time to get worried. [Back to Top](#top) [] 26. ATL: Kyle Pitts leads team in receiving [Source: ESPN.com](=) Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts caught two passes for 44 yards against the Carolina Panthers in Week 1. He was targeted three times during the game. Our view: Pitts had one big gainer, but the reality is that the Falcons don't need him to do much if they are keeping the game on their ideal script, which allows for more running and a safe, low volume passing game. Tight end is riddled by injuries right now, so Pitts is a viable TE1 against Green Bay next week, but lower your expectations. [Back to Top](#top) [] 27. CAR: Miles Sanders productive in Week 1 [Source: ESPN.com](=) Carolina Panthers RB Miles Sanders rushed for 72 yards on 18 carries against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1. He also caught four passes for 26 yards during the game. Our view: Sanders got the extra work in the passing game we have been looking for and was the primary runner, even after a lost fumble on a great play by likely defensive player of the week Jessie Bates. He'll face a tough Saints defense next week, but looks worthy of an RB2 start. [Back to Top](#top) [] 28. TEN: DeAndre Hopkins busy in team debut [Source: ESPN.com](=) Tennessee Titans WR DeAndre Hopkins caught seven of his 13 targets for 65 yards in a 16-15 loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 1. Our view: DeAndre Hopkins seemed right at home in the offense and the Titans seem intent on feeding him the ball. [Back to Top](#top) [] 29. SF: Brock Purdy back with two touchdowns [Source: ESPN](=) San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy completed 19-of-29 passes for 220 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, while running three times for 20 yards with two fumbles, including one lost fumble. Our view: Purdy and the entire team looked outstanding. He delivered the ball with precision and took advantage of his abundance of weapons. [Back to Top](#top) [] 30. MIN: Alexander Mattison has decent outing [Source: ESPN.com](=) Minnesota Vikings RB Alexander Mattison rushed for 34 yards on 11 carries against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 1. He also caught three passes for 10 yards and one touchdown during the game. Our view: Mattison showed good balance and toughness through contact on his touchdown reception, but couldn't find room to run against a tough Bucs front. At least Ty Chandler showed very little in his bid to turn this into an RBBC. Mattison will be a low ceiling RB2 play against the Eagles on Thursday. [Back to Top](#top) [] 31. MIN: Kirk Cousins surpasses 300-yard mark [Source: ESPN.com](=) Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins went 33-for-44 for 344 yards, two touchdowns and one interception against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 1. Our view: Cousins had three turnovers to keep the Bucs in the team early and doom the Vikings to the regression to the mean one-score loss that they avoided so often last year. It might have been matchup specific, but Cousins was otherwise effective against a vulnerable pass defense in a pass-first game plan against a very tough run defense. Cousins will face a sometimes punishing Eagles defense on the road Thursday. [Back to Top](#top) [] 32. PIT: Hamstring injury for Diontae Johnson [Source: NFL.com]() Updating a previous report, Pittsburgh Steelers WR Diontae Johnson (hamstring) suffered a hamstring injury during the Week 1 game and has been ruled out. Our view: This portends a multi-week injury for Johnson. The Steelers offense was so bad today that we probably rush out to get Allen Robinson or Calvin Austin III going into a Monday night game against the Browns. George Pickens should get a ton of targets with Johnson and Pat Freiermuth banged up. [Back to Top](#top) [] 33. WAS: Sam Howell accounts for two touchdowns [Source: ESPN](=) Washington Commanders QB Sam Howell completed 19-of-31 passes for 202 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals, while also rushing twice for 11 yards and a score. The second-year signal caller also lost a fumble. Our view: Howell was up and down but delivered just enough to help his team get the win. [Back to Top](#top) [] 34. CLE: Nick Chubb hits century mark in victory [Source: ESPN](=) Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb rushed 18 times for a game-high 106 yards in Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals, and he hauled in four receptions for 21 yards on his four targets. Our view: Chubb could set a career high in catches and he looks like a runner very much in his prime. It appears he will be worth the first round pick it took to land him in many leagues. He'll run against a Steelers front that was sliced and diced by Christian McCaffrey that might be without Cameron Heyward, who left the game today with an injury. [Back to Top](#top) [] 35. IND: Anthony Richardson accounts for two TDs [Source: ESPN.com](=) Indianapolis Colts QB Anthony Richardson went 24-for-37 for 223 yards, one touchdown and one interception against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1. He also rushed for 40 yards and one touchdown on 10 carries during the game. Our view: Richardson left the game late with an injury, and he was at the goal line, so it could have been an even bigger game for the rookie in his debut. He was executing well on quick short passes and looks ready to be a fantasy QB1 as long as his injury is minor. The Texans defense will be up next after they did a good job frustrating Lamar Jackson in Week 1. [Back to Top](#top) [] 36. CIN: Joe Mixon totals 73 yards from scrimmage [Source: ESPN](=) Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon rushed 13 times for a team-best 56 yards in Week 1 against the Cleveland Browns, while adding three grabs for 17 yards on his five targets. Our view: Mixon wasn't truly a bright spot, but at least he wasn't a primary reason the Bengals offense struggled mightily at Cleveland. He didn't have as much competition for snaps and touches with Samaje Perine gone, but he and the Bengals will face another stiff test when the Ravens come to town next week. [Back to Top](#top) [] 37. HOU: Nico Collins leads all receivers in opener [Source: ESPN](=) Houston Texans WR Nico Collins posted six receptions for a game-high 80 yards in Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens while he was targeted 11 times. Our view: Collins was on the same page with C.J. Stroud and was the rookie's #1 downfield target. He's a worthy WR3/Flex start next week against a no-name Indy secondary that couldn't cover Calvin Ridley. [Back to Top](#top) That'll do it for today, Folks.
