We've waited since February for this and it's finally here. We've got some News and Notes you need. Plus fun news. You may have seen we did a contest where we picked at random a Premium Subscriber to co-own my NFFC Primetime Team with me. They get to keep all the money we win. It's a $1,750 entry fee and $250,000 grand prize. We picked John McDill Thursday night. Turns out he's a long-time subscriber and message board guy on our forums. Was a beta tester for the Draft Dominator years ago. The offer was I'd do a Zoom call Friday with the winner and discuss strategy. I messaged him Thursday night and he said, "Can I come to the draft?" I said I'd love that. The winner last year did the same thing on 1 day's notice. John was even more remarkable as he'd never been to Las Vegas or flown in an airplane before. He figured it out and showed up ready to roll. Super fun guy and talked to everyone. Our draft was all high-stakes sharks doing a ton of big-ticket drafts plus me and John. He drafts online mostly. This was his first live draft since 1998. We had the 4 spot and I love our draft. We made every pick together. I know the high-stakes stuff is fun and the zillion-dollar Underdog things are rad. But the industry is built on the backs of folks like John and I love this so much. I know nobody cares about my fantasy team. But I would so love it if John won a bunch playing in this. I'll keep y'all posted. Now sit back and enjoy the games. Here's to Football. They have helped me dominate my league to the point that I'm called the Evil Empire by my league mates" - Rick Himes @bigisland31 [] 1. LAR: Cooper Kupp going on IR [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter]() Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp (hamstring) will be placed on injured reserve due to his lingering hamstring injury, per sources on Saturday, Sept. 9. Our view: Now on IR, Kupp will miss at least four games. He's had two hamstring injuries this offseason, with the second coming after he returned to practice just a couple of weeks ago. Kupp and the Rams hope he can return to the field in Week 5 against the Eagles. Without Kupp, Van Jefferson will get plenty of looks. Ben Skowronek will work underneath routes, while we'll see if the offseason buzz about rookie WR Puka Nacua turns into production in Week 1. [Back to Top](#top) [] 2. NYJ: Breece Hall questionable [Source: ESPN.com - Rich Cimini]( New York Jets RB Breece Hall (knee) practiced in full on Saturday, Sept. 9, after being limited the past two days and is listed as questionable for Week 1. Our view: Hall could get some work in Week 1. Dalvin Cook is there to carry the load for the Jets as they face the Buffalo Bills on Monday night. [Back to Top](#top) [] 3. TB: No extension for Mike Evans [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter]() Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans will not be getting a contract extension by his self-imposed deadline on Saturday, Sept. 9, per sources. Our view: Evans wanted a new deal, and he's not going to get what he wanted...for the time being. He will now hit free agency after this year. One has to wonder if the Buccaneers will consider trading Evans before the deadline this year as they continue to rebuild in the post-Tom Brady era. [Back to Top](#top) [] 4. SF: Brock Purdy expected to play [Source: NFLCommunications.com]( San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy (elbow) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 8, and is not on the injury report for Week 1. Our view: Purdy is good to go against the Steelers in Week 1. The 49ers will need to protect him against what should be a strong Pittsburgh pass rush. He's a low-end QB2 from a fantasy perspective. [Back to Top](#top) [] 5. DET: Jahmyr Gibbs to get more work [Source: The Detroit News - Nolan Bianchi]() Detroit Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs will get more touches moving forward and his low Week 1 snap count was by design to ease him in, head coach Dan Campbell said on Friday, Sept. 8. 'He'll begin to get more touches now, so that was just the beginning last night,' Campbell said. Our view: Gibbs only touched the ball nine times (7 carries, 2 receptions) while David Montgomery had 21 touches (all carries). We're still excited about Gibbs from a fantasy perspective, and Campbell will be true to his word. Expect Gibbs to get more work as the season goes on. [Back to Top](#top) [] 6. NE: Bailey Zappe signing to 53-man roster [Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero]() New England Patriots practice squad QB Bailey Zappe was signed to the 53-man roster Saturday, Sept. 9, according to a source. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. Our view: Zappe will be the no.2 behind Mac Jones in Week 1. This is what was expected, but Zappe did not make the 53-man roster with the Patriots instead signing Matt Corral off waivers. With Corral released on Saturday, Zappe gets the call up. [Back to Top](#top) [] 7. NE: Matt Corral let go [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport](=) New England Patriots QB Matt Corral was released Saturday, Sept. 9, according to a source. Our view: Corral was just added when he failed to make the 53-man roster for the Panthers. It was expected that Corral would be the backup to Mac Jones. NBC Sports reports "New England placed Corral on the exempt/left squad list. The designation drops Corral from the team's 53-man roster, but he can return to the team at any time and is not eligible to sign with another team while he remains on the list." [Back to Top](#top) [] 8. IND: Zack Moss now doubtful [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter]() Indianapolis Colts RB Zack Moss (forearm) was downgraded to doubtful for Week 1 on Saturday, Sept. 9. Our view: Moss is close to returning, but the team decided to shut him down for the season opener. That means Deon Jackson should get plenty of work in the Colts' backfield. Along with Jackson, rookie Evan Hull will get worked into the mix. [Back to Top](#top) [] 9. IND: Colts elevate two for Week 1 [Source: FOX Sports - Ben Arthur]( Indianapolis Colts RB Jake Funk and WR Juwann Winfree were elevated from the practice squad for Week 1 on Saturday, Sept. 9. Our view: With Zack Moss out of action in Week 1, the Colts needed another body at the position. That's why Funk gets the call up. We'll see Deon Jackson and Evan Hull carry the rock for the Colts on Sunday. [Back to Top](#top) [] 10. CAR: Adam Thielen expected to play [Source: NFL Network - Cameron Wolfe]() Carolina Panthers WR Adam Thielen (ankle) is expected to play against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1, according to a source Saturday, Sept. 9. Thielen was listed as questionable on the final injury report. Our view: Good news for Thielen. We're always a little leery with injuries and a 33 year old WR but it's looking like he'll play. [Back to Top](#top) [] 11. ATL: Drake London thrived with rookie QB [Source: ESPN - Eric Moody](=) Atlanta Falcons WR Drake London averaged 83.3 receiving yards in the four games that QB Desmond Ridder started last season, and he averaged 41.0 receiving yards in his 13 games without Ridder. Our view: Ridder has a ton of weapons around him, London included, and the Falcons will go as far as the second-year quarterback takes them. We'll see if London and Ridder can continue their obvious chemistry. We have a feeling that will be the case. London is a WR3 with upside from a fantasy perspective in Week 1. [Back to Top](#top) [] 12. CIN: Tee Higgins not close to extension [Source: The Cincinnati Enquirer - Kelsey Conway]() Cincinnati Bengals WR Tee Higgins is not close to a contract extension with the Bengals, and the two sides are not expected to reach an agreement before the start of the regular season, according to a source. Our view: Now that QB Joe Burrow has a new contract, attention will turn to the likes of Higgins and fellow WR Ja'Marr Chase. Higgins does not appear to be the team's future plans at this time. [Back to Top](#top) [] 13. NYG: Wan'Dale Robinson unlikely to play [Source: NFLCommunications.com]( New York Giants WR Wan'Dale Robinson (knee) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 8, but is listed as doubtful for Week 1. Our view: Robinson is a dangerous playmaker with speed and run-after-the-catch ability. He's been banged up this offseason, but we're anxiously awaiting his return to the field. We'll see what Robinson can do next week in practice. Make sure Robinson is on your waiver wire speed dial in deeper leagues. [Back to Top](#top) [] 14. CHI: Robert Tonyan added to injury report [Source: Chicago Bears PR]( Chicago Bears TE Robert Tonyan (back) was added to the Week 1 injury report on Saturday, Sept. 9, and is now questionable. Our view: A late addition to the injury report is not a great sign. Fantasy GMs weren't relying on Tonyan, but this does elevate the potential of TE Cole Kmet against the Packers in Week 1. [Back to Top](#top) That'll do it for today, Folks. I hope all the bounces go your way today. Have a great day and we'll see you tomorrow with the Update.
