They have helped me dominate my league to the point that I'm called the Evil Empire by my league mates" - Rick Himes @bigisland31 [] 1. WAS: Terry McLaurin good to go for Week 1 [Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero]() Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin (toe) was removed from the Week 1 injury report and will play against the Arizona Cardinals. Our view: Consider McLaurin a boom/bust WR3/Flex this week. Hopefully he won't aggravate his toe issue as a full go against the Cardinals. Jahan Dotson still looks like the best Commanders wide receiver play this week and Curtis Samuel is worth a what the heck flex look. [Back to Top](#top) [] 2. CIN: Big extension for Joe Burrow [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter]() Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow agreed to terms on five-year contract extension with the Bengals Thursday, Sept. 7, worth $275 million, according to sources. The deal includes $219.01 million in guaranteed money. Our view: Burrow (for now) is the highest paid player in NFL history. With starting quarterback salaries increasing at a much faster rate than the cap, expect teams to be more aggressive in the draft and letting lower paid options have a chance to win the starting job when they are in quarterback purgatory. [Back to Top](#top) [] 3. GB: Christian Watson to miss Week 1 [Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky](=) Green Bay Packers WR Christian Watson (hamstring) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 1 against the Chicago Bears. Head coach Matt LaFleur also suggested that while Watson is not a candidate for the Reserve/Injured list, he is considered week-to-week. Our view: We shouldn't assume that Watson will be good to go next week against the Falcons. Not having his best deep threat will make life more difficult for Jordan Love in his debut as the Packers starter. There's no clear play to pivot to in the Packers passing game with so many inexperienced players and Romeo Doubs also a little banged up. The Packers should lean heavily on their backfield in this one. [Back to Top](#top) [] 4. MIA: Jaylen Waddle expected to play [Source: MiamiDolphins.com](=) Miami Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle (oblique) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 8, and is not on the injury report for Week 1. Our view: Great news here for Waddle and Tua Tagovailoa and this offense. [Back to Top](#top) [] 5. BAL: Odell Beckham upgraded [Source: BaltimoreRavens.com]() Baltimore Ravens WR Odell Beckham Jr. (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 8, and is not on the injury report for Week 1. Our view: Good news here. With an older WR, the worry is always a little heightened for injury so it's good to see him practice today. [Back to Top](#top) [] 6. NYG: Darren Waller injury update [Source: ESPN.com - Jordan Raanan]() Updating a previous report, New York Giants TE Darren Waller (hamstring) reported some tightness in his hamstring late this week and 'seemed to be moving relatively well' during the portion of practice open to the media on Friday, Sept. 8, according to ESPN.com's Jordan Raanan. Our view: Stop me if you've heard this one before. There were mixed reports on this so hopefully we get some clarity on Saturday. Don't panic yet if Waller is your guy but be ready for a pivot. [Back to Top](#top) [] 7. CAR: Carolina's Week 1 injury report [Source: Panthers.com]() Carolina Panthers WR DJ Chark Jr. (hamstring) was upgraded to a limited practice on Friday, Sept. 8, but was ruled out for Week 1 versus the Atlanta Falcons. WR Adam Thielen (ankle) was also upgraded to a limited practice on Friday and is listed as questionable. DT DeShawn Williams (illness), S Sam Franklin (knee), WR Terrace Marshall Jr. (back) and WR Ihmir Smith-Marsette (ankle) practiced in full on Friday and no longer on the injury report. Our view: Marshall will get on the field a lot with Chark out, but he could draw shutdown corner AJ Terrell. Thielen looks like a true game time decision after missing the first two practices of the week. Rookie Jonathan Mingo and free agent pickup Hayden Hurst could get a lot of targets this week in what might be a tough debut for #1 overall pick Bryce Young. [Back to Top](#top) [] 8. NYG: NY Giants' Week 1 injury report [Source: Giants.com]( New York Giants CB Cor'Dale Flott (hamstring), S Gervarrius Owens (hamstring) and WR Wan'Dale Robinson (knee) were limited in practice all week and are listed as doubtful for Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys. LB Cam Brown (ankle) and DT D.J. Davidson (knee) were also limited in practice all week and are listed as questionable. TE Darren Waller (hamstring) was limited in practice on Friday, Sept. 8, and is also listed as questionable. RB Gary Brightwell (knee) and TE Lawrence Cager (ankle) were limited in practice all week but have been removed from the injury report. Our view: Waller being added to the injury report is worrisome to say the least. We'll have to check back on Sunday morning, but the Giants play on Sunday night, so if Waller is a true game time decision that is going to make lineup setting hard unless you have Jake Ferguson, Dalton Kincaid or Tyler Conklin as your backup. Robinson sitting will make Parris Campbell the primary slot receiver and increase the possibility of a strong Week 1 showing. [Back to Top](#top) [] 9. NO: New Orleans' Week 1 injury report [Source: NewOrleansSaints.com](=) New Orleans Saints DB J.T. Gray (shoulder) and WR Tre'Quan Smith (groin) did not practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans. RB Kendre Miller (knee) also did not practice all week but is listed as questionable. TE Jimmy Graham (rest), CB Marshon Lattimore (knee) and OT Ryan Ramczyk (rest) practiced in full on Friday, Sept. 8, and no longer appear on the injury report. Our view: The Saints are keeping alive the chances of their third round pick playing in Week 1, but it would be ill-advised to push a rookie out there who hasn't been healthy for much time this offseason. Consider Jamaal Williams a high floor RB2 this week and hope that Taysom Hill doesn't vulture any scoring opportunities at the goal line. [Back to Top](#top) [] 10. BAL: Mark Andrews' status in question [Source: BaltimoreRavens.com]() Baltimore Ravens TE Mark Andrews (quadriceps) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 8, and is listed as questionable for Week 1. Our view: Not what we were looking for. We'll stay on this one up through kickoff. [Back to Top](#top) [] 11. ARI: Arizona's injury report for Week 1 [Source: AZCardinals.com]() Arizona Cardinals OT Kelvin Beachum (hand) did not practice for a second consecutive day on Friday, Sept. 8, and has been ruled out for Week 1 against the Washington Commanders. WR Marquise Brown (hamstring) and TE Zach Ertz (knee) were limited in practice all week and are listed as questionable. LB Dennis Gardeck (knee) practiced in full all week and no longer appears on the injury report. Our view: Brown is more likely to play than Ertz, but neither is a sure thing. Even if Brown plays, he's a risky WR3/Flex that doesn't have much upside with Joshua Dobbs throwing the ball. The Cardinals passing game looks like a fantasy black hole. [Back to Top](#top) [] 12. LVR: Chandler Jones unlikely for opener [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport](=) Las Vegas Raiders DE Chandler Jones (personal) is not expected to play in Week 1 against the Denver Broncos, according to head coach Josh McDaniels on Friday, Sept. 8. Our view: #7 overall pick Tyree Wilson will play a bigger role opposite Maxx Crosby with Jones away from the team. The Raiders were tough on Russell Wilson last year, we'll see if Sean Payton can help change that result this weekend. [Back to Top](#top) [] 13. SEA: Kenneth Walker limited in practice [Source: Seahawks.com - John Boyle]( Seattle Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker III (hamstring) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 8. Our view: The Seahawks, as usual, are not giving us much specific information about Walker's condition, but this is concerning. We will have to be watching this situation, perhaps right up until game time. Zach Charbonnet would become a top 10-12 fantasy play this week if Walker is out. [Back to Top](#top) [] 14. CAR: Carolina discusses Miles Sanders' workload [Source: PanthersWire - Anthony Rizzuti]() Carolina Panthers RB Miles Sanders 'will be the main guy, but we're not planning on him carrying every carry,' according to head coach Frank Reich.'I think we'll go into the game thinking like he's full, 100 percent, whatever his full load would be. We've always envisioned there being a little bit of a rotation. He'll be the main guy. Miles will be the main guy, but we're not planning on him carrying every carry. We want to mix it up, keep him fresh. He's such a weapon - and want to be smart and pace that throughout the season,' Reich told reporters on Friday, Sept. 8. Our view: This doesn't really differ from the outlook expected when Sanders was going around the 6th/7th round of drafts. The more uncertain part of the backfield is whether Raheem Blackshear will have a dedicated passing down role or even eventually overtake Chuba Hubbard as the #2 after a strong summer from the 2022 UDFA. [Back to Top](#top) [] 15. NE: Rhamondre Stevenson questionable for Week 1 [Source: Patriots.com]( Updating previous reports, New England Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson (illness) did not participate in practice Friday, Sept. 8, and is listed as questionable for Week 1. Our view: Fingers crossed here for a quick recovery. Stay tuned tomorrow for hopefully good news. If not, Ezekiel Elliot is more than capable. [Back to Top](#top) That'll do it for today, Folks.
