As I finish typing this update, I'll close the laptop and head to the MGM Sportsbook for the NFFC party to watch Detroit at Kansas City. With Cooper Kupp and (probably) Travis Kelce on my bench, I'm leaning on Pat Mahomes, Isiah Pacheco, and Noah Gray. By the time you read this, we'll know how that panned out. It's all part of what makes this game so fun and challenging. Our Cecil Lammey has some News and Notes for you. Let's Go. J PS. Congrats to John McDill! John won the contest to co-own an [NFFC Primetime Team](=) with me. I'll be drafting Saturday morning with John's guidance and we'll manage the team together all season. Anything we win, he gets all of it. And I'm hoping it's that $250,000 Grand Prize! Drafting on Thursday night? Time Is Running out! [[Count down to 2023-09-08T22:00:00.000Z]]( What's New At Footballguys - [Almost Gone! The $350 Online Contest I Love - Plus A Discount](=) - You know me. I love Home Leagues. But I'm often asked where folks should play if they want to add an additional league. With a bit more of an entry fee and opportunity for a big prize. I've been doing this for 23 years at Footballguys and without question, the contest I recommend is the [NFFC-Rotowire $350 Online Championship](=). It's got the perfect balance of the right size prize pool with a $250,000 Grand Prize plus it's a reasonable number of teams so it doesn't feel like a lottery. It's run by my longtime friends Greg Ambrosius and Tom Kessenich at [the NFFC](, and they are the best in the industry. Greg offered to do this just for Footballguys Subscribers today: You can enter promo code: FBG25 for $25 off per individual team. I can't guarantee you'll win obviously. But I think it's by far the best $350 contest on the market right now. And it's the one I personally recommend. And to be clear: I don't make any affiliate money off this contest or benefit financially in any way from it. The $25 discount is all for you. I simply believe in it that much and I'm often asked by folks where they should play if they want something in addition to their home league. This is it. They have helped me dominate my league to the point that I'm called the Evil Empire by my league mates" - Rick Himes @bigisland31 [] 1. CIN: Full practice for Joe Burrow [Source: Bengals.com](=) Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow (calf) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 7. Our view: All seems good here. [Back to Top](#top) [] 2. SEA: Jaxon Smith-Njigba will play [Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta]( Seattle Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba (wrist) will play in Week 1, according to head coach Pete Carroll. Our view: Smith-Njigba is just another weapon for QB Geno Smith. He's a deep flex play this week against the Rams, and we're excited to see what the rookie playmaker can do for the Seahawks' offense. [Back to Top](#top) [] 3. CAR: Adam Thielen sits Thursday [Source: ESPN.com - David Newton]( Carolina Panthers WR Adam Thielen (ankle) did not practice on Thursday, Sept. 7. Our view: Thielen is a deep flex play in fantasy leagues that rewards points per reception. If he can go on Friday, then Thielen is a consideration for that level...and with this ankle injury he may be more of a 'what the heck' flex. [Back to Top](#top) [] 4. NYJ: No restrictions for Dalvin Cook [Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler]( New York Jets RB Dalvin Cook (shoulder) has fully recovered from offseason shoulder surgery and will be a 'full-go' for practice leading up to the team's Week 1 game against the New York Jets. Our view: The Bills and Jets kick off the Monday Night Football slate for the 2023 season. It's a huge game for both teams as they try to establish early-season dominance in the AFC East. Having Cook out there is huge for the Jets, and he should finish with at least flex-worthy numbers for Fantasy GMs who start him in Week 1. [Back to Top](#top) [] 5. BAL: Odell Beckham added to injury report [Source: Sirius XM NFL Radio - Adam Caplan]() Baltimore Ravens WR Odell Beckham Jr. (ankle) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 7. Our view: At his age, injuries are even more of a worry. Let's see how he's able to work Friday. [Back to Top](#top) [] 6. CAR: WR Chark May Rest Week 1? [Source: David Newton - ESPN NFL Nation]( According to ESPN's David Newton, Carolina Panthers WR DJ Chark (hamstring) said the team is deciding between playing him in Week 1 or letting him rest to be ready for Week 2. Our view: Chark missed practice on Wednesday, and the veteran speedster may miss the season opener against the Falcons. He seems to be close to returning, but the Panthers may decide another week of rest is best for him. With Adam Thielen banged up and Chark in danger of missing Week 1, guys like Terrace Marshall and Jonathan Mingo could get more work than expected. [Source: Ian Rapoport - NFL Network]( According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport there is "confidence" that the Cincinnati Bengals get a new deal done with QB Joe Burrow before the team's Week 1 matchup against the Browns. Our view: Burrow should soon be the highest-paid quarterback in the league. He's missed time this offseason due to a calf injury, but the team has wisely and cautiously brought him back so he should be out there in Week 1. There is no doubt that Burrow is a top-3 quarterback in this QB-driven league, and the Bengals' fortunes have changed since they selected him no.1 overall. [Back to Top](#top) [] 8. BAL: Mark Andrews officially limited [Source: Sirius XM NFL Radio - Adam Caplan]() Updating a previous report, Baltimore Ravens TE Mark Andrews (quadriceps) was officially limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 7. Our view: Let's hope he can be out there against the Texans in Week 1. That means he's a TE1 for Fantasy GMs who should be cautiously excited to start him. Hopefully, he'll get some work in Friday. [Back to Top](#top) [] 9. NYG: Wan'Dale Robinson limited Thursday [Source: The Record - Art Stapleton]() New York Giants WR Wan'Dale Robinson (knee) was listed as a limited participant in practice on Thursday, Sept. 7. Our view: Robinson is incredibly talented, and we love him in dynasty formats. However, these injuries have slowed him down this offseason. We're in "wait and see" mode with Robinson in redraft formats. Keep him on your waiver wire speed dial in deeper leagues. [Back to Top](#top) [] 10. HOU: John Metchie sidelined again Thursday [Source: Houston Chronicle - Brooks Kubena]() Houston Texans WR John Metchie (hamstring) did not practice on Thursday, Sept. 7. Our view: Metchie has been slowed down by injury this offseason, but we still appreciate his skill in dynasty formats. It's two straight missed practices for Metchie, so he's looking like a scratch for Week 1 against the Ravens. [Back to Top](#top) That'll do it for today, Folks.
