They have helped me dominate my league to the point that I'm called the Evil Empire by my league mates" - Rick Himes @bigisland31 [] 1. SF: QB Trey Lance traded to Dallas [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter](=) The 49ers are sending their former No. 3 overall pick Trey Lance to the Dallas Cowboys for a mid-round, per sources. Lance now gets a fresh start in Dallas. Our view: This makes sense for both sides. Drafting is hard. Obviously, Lance was a miss for San Francisco, but the 49ers have made tons of great draft decisions. He gets a fresh start in Dallas. [Back to Top](#top) [] 2. WAS: Terry McLaurin uncertain for Week 1 [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter]() Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin (toe) is considered questionable for Week 1 at this point, according to sources. Our view: Toe injuries can linger for quite some time. We'll see the Commanders ease him back into action when McLaurin is ready to do so. In the meantime, it looks like WR Jahan Dotson could be in for a larger target share than some are expecting. [Back to Top](#top) [] 3. NO: Derek Carr sitting preseason finale [Source: NewOrleans.Football - Nick Underhill]( New Orleans Saints QB Derek Carr and most of the starters will sit out of the preseason finale Sunday, Aug. 27. Our view: The Saints are resting most of their starters. Carr is there to lead the way this year after a fresh start from his Raiders days. From a fantasy perspective, Carr should produce like a low-end QB2. [Back to Top](#top) [] 4. TEN: Treylon Burks uncertain for opener [Source: TennesseeTitans.com - Jim Wyatt]() Tennessee Titans WR Treylon Burks' (knee) availability for Week 1 is uncertain at this point, according to TennesseeTitans.com's Jim Wyatt. Our view: A little over a week ago, Burks was carted off the field with this injury. Afterward, an MRI revealed a sprained LCL for the young receiver. We'll know more about his availability for the season opener the week of practice before they travel to play the Saints in Week 1. [Back to Top](#top) [] 5. TEN: Will Levis out again [Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler]( Tennessee Titans QB Will Levis (thigh) will not play in the preseason game Friday, Aug. 25. Our view: Levis is a talented rookie who fell to the Titans in the second round of the 2023 NFL draft. When healthy, he should be the primary backup to Ryan Tannehill and Levis could be the team's quarterback of the future. Now that he's missed time this training camp, Malik Willis should be the Titans' no.2 quarterback. [Back to Top](#top) [] 6. PHI: Tanner McKee impressing [Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo](=) Philadelphia Eagles QB Tanner McKee impressed in extended action in the preseason game Thursday, Aug. 24. 'He's put three good games together,' head coach Nick Sirianni said. 'He felt really comfortable back there. You could definitely see that.' Our view: McKee was an interesting addition for the Eagles in the 2023 NFL draft. They picked him up out of Stanford in the sixth round, and now he's working as a developmental no.3 quarterback. Marcus Mariota is the primary backup to Jalen Hurts. McKee is a natural pocket passer with quick reaction to what he sees from the defense. [Back to Top](#top) [] 7. CHI: Dante Pettis goes on IR [Source: ChicagoBears.com - Larry Mayer](=) Chicago Bears WR Dante Pettis (undisclosed) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Friday, Aug. 25. Our view: The Bears are shutting down Pettis before the start of the season. With Pettis out of action, the chances are better for a guy like Velus Jones to make the 53-man roster. [Back to Top](#top) [] 8. CHI: Joe Reed done in Chicago [Source: ChicagoBears.com - Larry Mayer](=) Chicago Bears WR Joe Reed (undisclosed) was waived with an injury designation Friday, Aug. 25. Our view: Reed has downfield speed, but he's bounced around a bit in his short pro career. When he gets healthy, there might be a team interested in adding him to the roster for depth. [Back to Top](#top) [] 9. MIA: Mike White to miss preseason game [Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson]( Miami Dolphins QB Mike White (head) is still going through the concussion protocol and will not be available for the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 26. Our view: White was set to be the primary backup to Tua Tagovailoa. Since he's missed time, Skylar Thompson has gotten an opportunity to do more. We'll see when White can be ready and if he's the no.2 quarterback or if Thompson (who has flashed a bit in starting duty) gets the job. [Back to Top](#top) [] 10. TB: Sean Tucker gets work with first team [Source: SI.com - Ben Meyerson]() Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Sean Tucker split some first-team reps with Rachaad White during practice Thursday, Aug. 25. Our view: Tucker could get some work with White in the Buccaneers' RBBC. Sure, White is the lead back and has flex appeal for Fantasy GMs. However, Tucker is a talented back from Syracuse who fell undrafted this year. He's impressed in training camp and the preseason, so he could be more involved than some think. [Back to Top](#top) That'll do it for today, Folks. Thanks for reading and thanks for being part of the Footballguys Family. We'll see you tomorrow with the Update.
