MIA: De'Von Achane update [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter]() Miami Dolphins RB De'Von Achane (shoulder) suffered a shoulder injury in the preseason game against the Houston Texans on Saturday, Aug. 19. Our view: Achane suffered a shoulder injury, but it's not clear how severe it is. He's scheduled to have an MRI. The rookie is in line to be the kick returner, but was running behind Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson on the depth chart. If he's out for an extended time, he could open up a roster spot for Salvon Ahmed, who had a strong game after looking like he was in danger of being left off of the final 53 because of a strong camp from Myles Gaskin, who didn't play in the second week of the preseason. [Back to Top](#top) [] 2. BUF: Three grabs for Dalton Kincaid [Source: ESPN.com](=) Buffalo Bills TE Dalton Kincaid caught three of his four targets for 45 yards in a 27-15 preseason loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers Saturday, Aug. 19. Our view: It's pretty clear that Kincaid is going to the #1 tight end for the Bills right away. He has the ability to be fantasy relevant in this offense and the Bills took him in the first round mostly for his receiving ability. Kincaid is a good pick after the top 10 tight ends are off of the board. [Back to Top](#top) [] 3. TB: No timetable for QB announcement [Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Mike Florio](=) Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield and QB Kyle Trask have been competing for starting quarterback job, but head coach Todd Bowles said the team does not have a timetable for when they will name the starter. Our view: Mayfield has outplayed Trask and has the experience edge, so he should be the winner, although that's not great for the Bucs receivers' fantasy value if history is any guide. This battle only really matters in superflex/2QB leagues. [Back to Top](#top) [] 4. IND: Jonathan Taylor to travel with team [Source: ESPN.com - Stephen Holder]( Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor (ankle) will travel with the team for their joint practices with the Philadelphia Eagles but remains on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list, according to head coach Shane Steichen. Our view: That's at least a somewhat positive sign about Taylor's intent to play for the Colts this year, but that he's still on the PUP is troubling since his ankle surgery wasn't supposed to be serious. Taylor remains a true boom/bust pick to consider in the third round. [Back to Top](#top) [] 5. NYJ: Aaron Rodgers scheduled to play Saturday [Source: New York Post - Brian Costello]( New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers is scheduled to be the starting quarterback for the Jets in their final preseason game Saturday, Aug. 26, according to a source. Our view: Normally, we'd expect a veteran of Rodgers stature to play little to no time in the preseason, but he's with a new team and has to get accustomed to a new and unsettled offensive line. Rodgers will face the Bills on Monday Night Football to open the season. [Back to Top](#top) [] 6. CLE: Elijah Moore on track to return [Source: NFL.com](=) Cleveland Browns WR Elijah Moore (ribs) is expected to participate in practice Sunday, Aug. 20. Our view: Moore's rib injury is minor and it didn't take the offseason addition away from practice for too long. He is going to be a big part of the offense according to head coach Kevin Stefanski, but Stefanski also said that it is the coaches job to find ways to get him the ball, which suggests an uncertain role, at least to begin the season. He's still worth a pick as a priority bench stash. [Back to Top](#top) [] 7. DAL: DeMarvion Overshown injures knee [Source: NFL.com]( Dallas Cowboys LB DeMarvion Overshown (knee) sustained a knee injury in the preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks Saturday, Aug. 19. Our view: Overshown's injury is a torn ACL. He was having a great camp and the Cowboys were expected big things sooner than later. Hopefully your IDP dynasty league has IR slots if you took Overshown, because it looks like he'll still be worth carrying for the long term upside. [Back to Top](#top) [] 8. WAS: Washington makes changes to roster [Source: Commanders.com]( Free-agent DT Isaiah Mack (Jets) and P Michael Palardy (Patriots) signed with the Washington Commanders Sunday, Aug. 20. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed. The team also released PK Michael Badgley and WR Jalen Sample. Our view: With the release of Badgley, Joey Slye has officially won the Washington kicking job. Badgley could get a shot to kick for another team because he has some regular season experience, and Washington will keep him on speed dial if anything happens to Slye. [Back to Top](#top) [] 9. NYJ: Israel Abanikanda sustains thigh injury [Source: NFL.com]( New York Jets RB Israel Abanikanda (thigh) suffered a thigh contusion during the team's preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Saturday, Aug. 19. Our view: The team's fifth-round pick is still probably safely on the final roster, and a contusion doesn't sound too serious, so the big question remains which of Zonovan Knight and Michael Carter will make the team as fourth running back, and third on the depth chart until Abanikanda is ready for prime time. [Back to Top](#top) That'll do it for today, Folks. Thanks for reading and thanks for being part of the Footballguys Family. We'll see you tomorrow with the Update.
