CIN: Joe Burrow not close to returning [Source: NFL.com]( Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow (calf) is still several weeks away from returning to the field, according to head coach Zac Taylor. Our view: We're not panicked. But I'd by lying if I said we weren't concerned. Taylor has not answered whether this injury is going to keep Burrow out of action when the regular season begins. If Burrow is not ready for Week 1, the Bengals have veteran Trevor Siemian to plug in as the starter. As the regular season draws near, we might not get many more updates on Burrow's status. Stay tuned. [Back to Top](#top) [] 2. KC: Clyde Edwards-Helaire returns - Watch out for Deneric Prince [Source: Chiefs.com - Matt McMullen]( Kansas City Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire (illness) returned to practice Wednesday, Aug. 9, after missing practice Tuesday, Aug. 8, because of an illness. Our view: Edwards-Helaire is back out there in a competitive running back room for the Chiefs. Isiah Pacheco is the starter, and Jerick McKinnon is the change-of-pace back. However, the buzz about rookie Deneric Prince cannot be denied. In fact, if Pacheco (who is coming back from shoulder surgery) gets banged up again, we might see Prince take over in this backfield. It's just something to keep in mind when drafting late and looking for 'sleeper' backs. KC: Skyy Moore to lead KC WRs in catches? [Source: NFL.com]( Kansas City Chiefs WR Skyy Moore could lead the team's wide receivers in receptions, according to Pete Sweeney of Arrowhead Pride. Our view: The buzz about Moore this offseason has been strong. In fact, Moore could be QB Patrick Mahomes' favorite target not named TE Travis Kelce. He's getting drafted in the WR5 range, but the upside - especially in this dynamic offense - is there for Moore to be at least a weekly flex play. [Back to Top](#top) [] 4. SEA: Kenneth Walker making progress [Source: ESPN.com - Brady Henderson](=) Seattle Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker III (groin) has begun running full speed in a straight line and will begin cutting in the next couple of days, head coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday, Aug. 9. Our view: Good news for the Seahawks here. Walker is going to lead the way on the ground, but rookie RB Zach Charbonnet is going to work his way into the mix as well. Both backs have been a little banged up in training camp, Walker with a groin and Charbonnet with a minor shoulder injury. We'll see the Seahawks ease Walker back into action when he's ready to go. [Back to Top](#top) [] 5. DEN: Javonte Williams ready for Week 1? [Source: NFL.com - Gregg Rosenthal]( Denver Broncos RB Javonte Williams (knee) may be ready to suit up in Week 1, according to Gregg Rosenthal of NFL Network. Our view: This news has been out there for some time. In fact, dating back to the Scouting Combine the front office for the Broncos has expressed optimism about Williams' Week 1 status. Our very own Cecil Lammey is at training camp every day, and he's been consistent in his reporting that Williams has looked good. However, Fantasy GMs need to know that RB Samaje Perine will be worked into the Sean Payton offense - perhaps in a 50-50 split with Williams. [Back to Top](#top) [] 6. BUF: Latavius Murray eyeing third-down role? [Source: The Athletic - Joe Buscaglia](=) Buffalo Bills RB Latavius Murray has shown during training camp 'how much more he gives the Bills in the passing game' than RB Damien Harris, according to Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic. Our view: Murray can make plays as a runner or receiver out of the backfield. Harris is more of a banger between the tackles, while Murray looks smooth as a pass-catcher. It will be interesting to see how the Bills split touches between Murray and Harris behind starting RB James Cook. [Back to Top](#top) [] 7. BUF: Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs to sit out Saturday [Source: NFL.com]( Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen and WR Stefon Diggs will not play in the team's preseason game Saturday, Aug. 12, according to head coach Sean McDermott. Our view: Some teams play their starters in the preseason, while other teams rest their starters in certain preseason games. We'll see if the next round of preseason games will include the Bills' biggest stars on offense. [Back to Top](#top) [] 8. IND: Anthony Richardson to start preseason opener [Source: ESPN.com - Stephen Holder]( Indianapolis Colts QB Anthony Richardson will start the preseason opener against the Buffalo Bills on Saturday, Aug. 12. Our view: Richardson has the physical tools to be a top performer in the game. When he gets more experience, his ceiling is sky-high. However, right now as a rookie Richardson could be a QB1 from a fantasy perspective because of his rushing ability. Think of a young Josh Allen or Cam Newton when you think of what Richardson could look like this season. You can currently get him in the high-end QB2 range, but the upside to be more is certainly there. [Back to Top](#top) [] 9. PIT: Kenny Pickett to play in preseason game [Source: NFL.com]( Pittsburgh Steelers QB Kenny Pickett will be the starting quarterback for the Steelers in the preseason game Friday, Aug. 11. Our view: It will be fun to see what Pickett can do in his second season as the starter. He went through his rookie struggles last year, and now we're expecting him to show more progress as a passer. Fantasy GMs see Pickett as a low-end QB2 with upside if he starts to play up to his potential. [Back to Top](#top) [] 10. SF: George Kittle dealing with adductor strain [Source: The 33rd Team - Ari Meirov](=) San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (adductor) is dealing with an adductor strain and is likely to miss a week, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan on Thursday, Aug. 10. Our view: Ah man, we feel terrible as this offseason has been a healthy one for Kittle up to this point. Now, he's out of action for a week or so. Kittle will be fine for the start of the regular season, but he does seem to get dinged up more often than you'd like. [Back to Top](#top) [] 11. DET: Detroit makes roster moves [Source: Detroit Lions PR](=) Free-agent QB Teddy Bridgewater (Dolphins) and RB Benny Snell (Steelers) signed with the Detroit Lions on Thursday, Aug. 10. Also, OL Logan Stenberg was waived. Our view: Bridgewater is there to give the team better depth at the backup quarterback position. Jared Goff is their starter, and he could post great numbers this year with that array of weapons around him. If Goff gets banged up, the team can keep rolling with a seasoned veteran like Bridgewater. [Back to Top](#top) [] 12. LAC: Joshua Palmer leaves early [Source: NFL.com]( Los Angeles Chargers WR Joshua Palmer (undisclosed) left practice early Thursday, Aug. 10, after suffering an undisclosed injury. Our view: We'll know more about Palmer's injury in the near future. He's competing for a roster spot behind the Chargers' big 3 at the position of Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, and rookie Quentin Johnston. [Back to Top](#top) [] 13. MIA: Hand issue for Jeff Wilson [Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson]( Miami Dolphins RB Jeff Wilson Jr. (hand) suffered an apparent hand injury during practice Wednesday, Aug. 9. Our view: The Dolphins have Wilson and veteran Raheem Mostert to work in an RBBC with rookie De'Von Achane. The veterans both have talent, they both know the system like the back of their hands, but they both have injury histories. Reports are coming out of the Dolphins' camp that Achane (who is a speed demon) could play a larger role than expected. [Back to Top](#top) [] 14. CHI: Justin Fields to play Saturday [Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Charean Williams](=) Chicago Bears QB Justin Fields will be the starting quarterback for the team's preseason game Saturday, Aug. 12. Our view: Fields is expected to make more strides as a passer this year. Not only because of his starting experience but also because of the addition of star WR D.J. Moore. We'll see how much Fields can do with his arm this season, but his legs and rushing ability give him the upside of a QB1 and perhaps the best quarterback in all of fantasy football this season. [Back to Top](#top) [] 15. BUF: Damien Harris remained sidelined [Source: NFL.com]( Buffalo Bills RB Damien Harris (knee) did not participate in practice Thursday, Aug. 10, but is making progress in his recovery, according to head coach Sean McDermott. Our view: The Bills have veteran Latavius Murray there to provide depth as a runner and receiver out of the backfield behind starting RB James Cook. When Harris can return to the practice field, we'll see how much he can push Murray for that no.2 spot on the depth chart. [Back to Top](#top) [] 16. WAS: Sam Howell to start preseason game [Source: NFL.com]( Washington Commanders QB Sam Howell will be the starting quarterback in the Commanders' preseason game Friday, Aug. 11. Our view: Howell is getting the first crack to show what he can do as the Commanders' starter over veteran Jacoby Brissett. He entered training camp as the starter, and Howell should be able to seal the deal with good performances in the preseason. We're excited to see what new OC Eric Bieniemy has drawn up for Howell and the skill position players around him. [Back to Top](#top) [] 17. CAR: Miles Sanders may skip preseason game [Source: NFL.com]( Carolina Panthers RB Miles Sanders (groin) is dealing with a groin injury and may not be available for the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 12, according to head coach Frank Reich. Our view: Sanders is a pro, and he doesn't need a ton of work in the preseason to be ready for the start of the regular season. In fact, this groin injury could linger if the team isn't cautious as they bring Sanders back into action. Without Sanders, guys like Chuba Hubbard and Raheem Blackshear will get more looks. [Back to Top](#top) [] 18. BUF: Kyle Allen the frontrunner for backup duties? [Source: The Athletic - Joe Buscaglia](=) Buffalo Bills QB Kyle Allen received all the reps behind QB Josh Allen during practice Wednesday, Aug. 9. In previous sessions, Allen and QB Matt Barkley have split reps as the backup. Our view: This is a battle worth watching if you're a Bills fan. If Josh Allen was banged up, the team would have to make it work with one of these backups. That's not great for their chances, so keeping Josh Allen healthy is their best bet to push for a Super Bowl. [Back to Top](#top) That'll do it for today, Folks.
