BAL: Rashod Bateman improving [Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley](=) Baltimore Ravens WR Rashod Bateman (foot) could be activated from the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list in the near future, according to head coach John Harbaugh. Our view: Getting Bateman out there would be great for the Ravens' offense. We're already excited about QB Lamar Jackson in a new offense under OC Todd Monken. Having his full array of weapons, like Bateman, Odell Beckham Jr and rookie first-round pick Zay Flowers has us even more excited for the 2023 season. [Back to Top](#top) [] 2. CAR: Miles Sanders 'tweaked something' [Source: Panthers.com - Darin Gantt]( Carolina Panthers RB Miles Sanders (undisclosed) was held out of the team portion of practice on Saturday, Aug. 5, after he 'tweaked something,' head coach Frank Reich said. The move was made mostly out of precaution, Reich added. Our view: The Panthers are wisely being cautious with the veteran runner who has been banged up from time to time in his pro career. Sanders is there to split time in the backfield with RB Chuba Hubbard. If healthy, Sanders has the ability and the opportunity to pay off like a RB2/flex play in 2023. [Back to Top](#top) [] 3. SEA: Tyler Lockett dealing with hamstring issue [Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta]() Seattle Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett (hamstring) sat out of practice due to minor hamstring tightness Friday, Aug. 4, according to head coach Pete Carroll. Our view: A speed guy like Lockett needs to be extra careful with a hamstring injury. The Seahawks are looking for continued good play from QB Geno Smith, and having guys like Lockett, DK Metcalf, and rookie first-round pick Jaxon Smith-Njigba should help. The Seahawks are likely to ease Lockett into action once he's over this minor hamstring. [Back to Top](#top) [] 4. DET: Avery Davis signed [Source: LionsWire - Jeff Risdon]() The Detroit Lions signed free-agent WR Avery Davis (Notre Dame) Saturday, Aug. 5. In a corresponding move, the team waived DE Zach Morton. Our view: Let's see if Davis is healthy from the knee injury that cost him the entire 2022 season for the Fighting Irish. If healthy, Davis has a nice size/speed combination and he's a rather savvy receiver. He never played up to his potential in college, but Davis was highly touted coming out of high school. Davis is exactly the type of player we love to monitor in crazy deep dynasty formats. [Back to Top](#top) [] 5. CAR: Devine Ozigbo worked out [Source: Click2Houston.com - Aaron Wilson]() Free-agent RB Devine Ozigbo (Broncos) worked out for the Carolina Panthers Friday, Aug. 4, according to a source. Our view: With Miles Sanders a bit banged up, the Panthers may want to add a veteran. Ozigbo is good as a runner and receiver out of the backfield, but he's not a 'wow' player in either of those skills. [Back to Top](#top) [] 6. KC: Justyn Ross turning heads [Source: NFL.com - Kevin Patra]() Kansas City Chiefs WR Justyn Ross continues to receive reps with the first-team offense and has been impressive in training camp. 'Yeah, he's had a good one,' QB Patrick Mahomes said of Ross on Wednesday, Aug. 2. '(He is) learning the offense fast, you can tell he's been in the offense for a year now. Obviously, making big plays, he's getting more and more involved in those first-team reps, and so a guy that I have a lot of hope for that he can be a really good player in this offense.' Our view: What else is new? Ross has the skill set to be a solid player in this league, and behind the scenes, he's been impressing with the Chiefs for some time. Ever since he came into the league undrafted out of Clemson (2022), we've been stockpiling him in deep dynasty formats. [Back to Top](#top) [] 7. LAR: Rams ink Camren McDonald [Source: Rams.com]( Free-agent TE Camren McDonald (Packers) signed an undisclosed contract with the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday, Aug. 5. Our view: McDonald was undrafted out of Florida State this year. During his career with the Seminoles (30 starts), McDonald (6-4, 237) caught 74 passes for 861 yards and five touchdowns. He posted a career-high 312 receiving yards in 2022, and now he's working to make the practice squad with the Rams after spending some time with the Packers. Two teams in just a few months is not a great sign about his ability to stick in the pros. [Back to Top](#top) [] 8. NO: Eno Benjamin out for season [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter]() New Orleans Saints RB Eno Benjamin (Achilles') suffered a torn Achilles and is out for the season, head coach Dennis Allen announced on Saturday, Aug. 5. Our view: Eno Benjamin was competing to earn a spot down the depth chart behind guys like Alvin Kamara, Jamaal Williams, and rookie Kendre Miller. The Saints may look to sign a veteran or look to other teams who release a back if they feel more depth is needed. [Back to Top](#top) [] 9. SEA: Kenny McIntosh dealing with sprained knee [Source: NFL.com]( Seattle Seahawks RB Kenny McIntosh (knee) sprained his left knee during practice Friday, Aug. 4, and the severity of the injury remains unknown, according to head coach Pete Carroll. Our view: Seattle doesn't need any more running back issues. They're already dealing with a groin problem for Kenneth Walker, and rookie Zach Charbonnet was dealing with a shoulder injury too. McIntosh is competing for the no.3 spot on the depth chart behind those two. [Back to Top](#top) That'll do it for today, Folks.
