NO: Alvin Kamara suspended three games [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter]() Adam Schefter, of ESPN, reports that Saints RB Alvin Kamara will receive a three-game suspension for his role in a 2022 Las Vegas nightclub brawl. Our view: Kamara's depressed ADP assumed a suspension was coming, but this is on the low end of the expectations. Three games is less than 1/4 of a typical fantasy regular season, so drafting him as an RB3/RB4 won't really hurt your team and you could gain an RB2 for fantasy when he returns. Jamaal Williams and Kendre Miller get a small hit on their value with this news. Expect Kamara's ADP to inch up now that his status is known. [Back to Top](#top) [] 2. SEA: Dee Eskridge handed six-game ban [Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper](=) Seattle Seahawks WR Dee Eskridge was suspended for the first six games of the 2023 season on Friday, Aug. 4, for violating the league's personal conduct policy. Our view: Eskridge played in 20 games the past two seasons and caught 17 passes for 122 yards and one touchdown. He'll be able to practice with the team but won't be able to play in games until the suspension is served. [Back to Top](#top) [] 3. SEA: Kenneth Walker will not rush back [Source: NFL.com]() Seattle Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker III (groin) will not participate in practice until he has recovered from his groin injury, according to head coach Pete Carroll. Our view: It's a surprise that he is the less healthy back in the Seahawks backfield at this point, and if his absence persists for weeks, not days, it might be time to move him down and move Zach Charbonnet back up. When it appeared Charbonnet was the more severely injured back, it made sense to keep Walker out as a precaution. Now we have to ascribe the length of absence to the nature of the injury. [Back to Top](#top) [] 4. ARI: Arizona adds Marlon Mack [Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero]() Free-agent RB Marlon Mack (Broncos) signed an undisclosed contract with the Arizona Cardinals on Friday, Aug. 4. Our view: Mack will compete with Keaontay Ingram, Ty'Son Williams, Corey Clement and UDFA Emari Demercado to back up James Conner. Conner usually misses time at some point in the season, so the winner of the competition could have some fantasy relevance this season. [Back to Top](#top) [] 5. CAR: DJ Chark locked in with QB [Source: Charlotte Observer - Joseph Person](=) Carolina Panthers WR DJ Chark Jr.'s big plays with QB Bryce Young 'have become a daily occurrence' at training camp, according to Joseph Person of the Charlotte Observer. Our view: Chark is available late in drafts even though his talent is unquestioned. He should be moving up on your draft endgame target list. Chark was recruited to the Panthers by assistant head coach Duce Staley and he had surgery on his foot/ankle that the team hopes will clear up the injury problems that have plagued him in recent years. [Back to Top](#top) [] 6. CIN: Charlie Jones leaves early [Source: Pro Football Network - Jay Morrison]( Cincinnati Bengals WR Charlie Jones (arm) left practice early Thursday, Aug. 3, because of an apparent arm injury. Our view: The Bengals fourth-round pick shouldn't be out for long as his injury has been characterized as day-to-day and as a shoulder injury. He is viewed as the potential long term replacement for Tyler Boyd, who is a free agent next year. [Back to Top](#top) [] 7. CIN: Trayveon Williams day-to-day [Source: Pro Football Network - Jay Morrison]( Cincinnati Bengals RB Trayveon Williams (ankle) is considered day-to-day because of a sprained ankle. Our view: Williams avoided a serious injury even though he was carted off on Tuesday. He's in the mix to be the primary backup to Joe Mixon along with fifth-round pick Chase Brown and 2021 sixth-rounder Chris Evans. [Back to Top](#top) [] 8. SEA: Zach Charbonnet back at work [Source: ESPN.com - Brady Henderson](=) Seattle Seahawks RB Zach Charbonnet (shoulder) was spotted at practice Thursday, Aug. 3. Our view: Well the indefinite absence ended up being about a week and the rookie Charbonnet got back on the field before starter Ken Walker, whose absence from a groin injury was supposed to be precautionary. If you dropped Charbonnet on your board when his injury was announced, you can move up back up. [Back to Top](#top) [] 9. CHI: Chicago lands Yannick Ngakoue [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter]() Free-agent DE Yannick Ngakoue (Colts) is signing with the Chicago Bears on a one-year, $10.5 million deal, which includes $10 million guaranteed, his agent confirmed Thursday, Aug. 3. Our view: The Bears needed to spend to get up to the cap floor, and this signing will help get them most of the way there. For Ngakoue, it's a good amount this late in game, and for the Bears, it will help them get closer to respectability by providing a proven edge rusher. Ngakoue is probably only relevant in sack-heavy leagues with his one-dimensional profile. [Back to Top](#top) [] 10. MIN: Abram Smith lands in Minnesota [Source: ESPN.com - Kevin Seifert]( Free-agent RB Abram Smith (XFL) has agreed to terms with the Minnesota Vikings, according to a source. Our view: Smith was a UDFA last year and spent some time with the Saints before leading the XFL in rushing earlier this year. He'll compete with seventh-round pick DeWayne McBride, 2022 fifth-rounder Ty Chandler, and 2021 fourth-round pick Kene Nwangwu to back up Alexander Mattison, who suffered a minor injury earlier this week. [Back to Top](#top) [] 11. HOU: Scott Quessenberry done for the year [Source: KPRC.com - Aaron Wilson]() Houston Texans C Scott Quessenberry (knee) was diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament and torn medial collateral ligament Thursday, Aug. 3, according to a source. Our view: The Texans will almost certainly have to turn to second-round pick Juice Scruggs to start at center after their 2022 starter went down for the season. The rookie had overcome injuries from a serious car accident in 2019 that threatened his football career to get this far. The Texans liked him enough to trade back into the second round to get him. [Back to Top](#top) [] 12. NO: Cameron Jordan agrees to two-year extension [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter](=) New Orleans Saints DE Cameron Jordan agreed to a two-year, $27.5 million extension Friday, Aug. 4. The $27.5 million in new money comes with $27.5 million in guarantees and is the largest contract, on average and guarantees, for any defensive player in NFL history at the age of 34. Our view: The Saints are doing right by a franchise signature player who continues to set the tone for a defense that has been among the league's best in recent years. He still has relevance in IDP leagues with his strong base of tackles and involvement in run defense, but he still notched 8.5 sacks last year. [Back to Top](#top) That'll do it for today, Folks.
