Dobbins - LAC: Milton Wright agrees to terms - NYJ: Dalvin Cook meeting with Jets - MIA: Jalen Ramsey likely out 6-8 weeks - PHI: Rashaad Penny works with starters [CIN: Joe Burrow carted off field Thursday]() Source: The Athletic - Paul Dehner Jr. Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow (calf) suffered an apparent calf injury during practice and was carted off the field Thursday, July 27. Our view: The big news is this appears to be a calf issue and not a more serious Achilles injury. Bengals HC Zac Taylor said Burrow suffered a calf strain in Thursday's practice. Such an injury will cause him to miss time, but Burrow should be ready to go in Week 1 of the regular season. CBSsports.com reported, "While there's no official word on the severity of the injury just yet, wide receiver and good friend Ja'Marr Chase told reporters why he thinks Burrow will be OK. "We always give each other that nod," Chase said after practice, via Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic. "He gave me a nod [to say] he's all right. He's a strong dude." "Chase added that he felt better after receiving the nod from his quarterback. "I wasn't really worried," Chase said. "I believe he's all right." We'll know more about the severity of this injury as camp goes on. --------------------------------------------------------------- [NYJ - Garrett Wilson exits practice early Thursday]( Source: ESPN.com - Rich Cimini New York Jets WR Garrett Wilson (ankle) rolled an ankle early in practice Thursday, July 27, but head coach Robert Saleh told reporters after practice that he is not concerned about the severity of the injury. Our view: Anytime a player as highly ranked as Wilson leaves practice, we'll take notice. But this one doesn't seem to be anything to worry about. We'll keep a close eye on it regardless. --------------------------------------------------------------- [SEA: Knee issue for Noah Fant]() Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta Seattle Seahawks TE Noah Fant (knee) is not practicing because of a knee issue but is expected to be on the field soon, according to head coach Pete Carroll. Our view: Fant has talent, but he's bitten by the injury bug more than you'd like. If healthy, Fant can be a field-stretching weapon for QB Geno Smith. From a fantasy perspective, Fant is a TE2 with upside...when healthy. --------------------------------------------------------------- [LAR: Matthew Stafford their guy](=) Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Ohm Youngmisuk Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford drew trade interest from other teams, but the Rams were in unanimous agreement to keep him another season, according to head coach Sean McVay Our view: Did Stafford "draw" trade interest, or did the Rams unsuccessfully shop him this offseason? Either way, Stafford is back for another year and making a ton of money. We'll see if he can stay healthy and play like he used to, but Fantasy GMs are not counting on it. --------------------------------------------------------------- [NYJ: Aaron Rodgers reworks deal]( Source: ESPN.com - Rich Cimini New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers said he has agreed to restructure his contract with the Jets but did not mention any details. Our view: This restructured contract with the Jets is fully guaranteed and keeps Rodgers with the team through 2024. Due $110 million next season under his old contract, this new deal lowers that astronomical number. We'll see if Rodgers can win another ring over the next couple of seasons as the Jets' starter. --------------------------------------------------------------- [DEN: Javonte Williams good to go](=) Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis Denver Broncos RB Javonte Williams (knee) told reporters Thursday, July 27, that he was cleared for contact recently but deferred to the coaching staff when asked if he would play at all during the preseason. Our view: Williams has looked great all offseason, and that's remarkable considering he's coming back from a multiple-ligament knee injury. Broncos HC Sean Payton has commented on how Williams is going to be ramped up through training camp and the preseason. We should see Williams in an RBBC with Samaje Perine starting in Week 1 of the regular season. --------------------------------------------------------------- [BAL: No timetable for J.K. Dobbins](=) Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley Baltimore Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins (undisclosed) does not have a timetable for his return to the field, according to head coach John Harbaugh. Our view: Harbaugh said the Dobbins situation is "complicated" but the team is working through it. It's a situation now, and that's not a great thing. Dobbins may be 'holding in' so we'll have to see how that works out for him. --------------------------------------------------------------- [LAC: Milton Wright agrees to terms]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Undrafted free-agent WR Milton Wright (Purdue) agreed to terms with the Los Angeles Chargers Wednesday, July 26, according to a source. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. Our view: Wright was not selected in the Supplemental Draft, but he did work out for a few teams over the last month. He was academically ineligible in 2022, but in 2021 with the Boilermakers he made plays as the no.3 option at the receiver position behind current NFL wideouts Rondale Moore and David Bell. He's an explosive player with a good size/speed combination. While limited in his route tree in college, Wright did display soft hands and concentration to bring in contested catches. --------------------------------------------------------------- [NYJ: Dalvin Cook meeting with Jets]() Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero Free-agent RB Dalvin Cook (Vikings) is meeting with the New York Jets Thursday, July 27. Our view: Cook to the Jets has been a thing for some time. In fact, they might be considered the front-runners along with the Dolphins. We'll see if he can come to an agreement as training camp kicks off across the league. --------------------------------------------------------------- [MIA: Jalen Ramsey likely out 6-8 weeks]() Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero Miami Dolphins CB Jalen Ramsey (knee) is expected to be sidelined for six to eight weeks because he will need surgery to repair a meniscus injury, according to a source. Our view: We'll know more soon. There were some reports he could be sidelined until December if he suffered a full meniscus tear, according to sources. Stay tuned. --------------------------------------------------------------- [PHI: Rashaad Penny works with starters](=) Source: The Athletic - Zach Berman Philadelphia Eagles RB Rashaad Penny worked with the first-team offense during practice Wednesday, July 26. Head coach Nick Sirianni said he plans to use multiple running backs with the starters during training camp. Our view: Penny is the type of back who doesn't need to come off the field. He's got enough power to grind down opponents, and he's got the third-down ability to threaten on passes out of the backfield. However, Penny is injured - a lot - and that's the concern about giving him a big workload. He's in line to split time with D'Andre Swift this season. Kenneth Gainwell should get some work in the RBBC as well. Got skills? Want to join the best darn team of fantasy football experts around?
