[Watch On Youtube](=) Inside This Issue - NYG: Saquon Barkley signs one-year deal - KC: Kadarius Toney has surgery - NO: Michael Thomas a full-go - DET: Jameson Williams out a day or two - WAS: Byron Pringle signs with Commanders - NO: Jimmy Graham signs with Saints - SEA: Seattle works out three - BUF: Darrynton Evans signs with Bills - LVR: Las Vegas checks out Abram Smith - NFL: Antoine Wesley cleared - ARI: Damien Williams worked out [NYG: Saquon Barkley signs one-year deal](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley agreed to a one-year deal worth up to $11 million Tuesday, July 25. The deal includes a $2 million signing bonus. Our view: Barkley has $909,000 worth of incentives in his contract for three milestones: 1,350 rushing yards and a playoff berth, 65 receptions, and 11 touchdowns. He did not get a 'no franchise tag' clause in his one-year deal, and he can be tagged again next year, according to reports. Without a threat of him holding out, Fantasy GMs are back to taking Barkley in the late first or early second round. --------------------------------------------------------------- [KC: Kadarius Toney has surgery](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Kansas City Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney (knee) had surgery to clean up cartilage in his knee, head coach Andy Reid told reporters Tuesday, July 25. Our view: Toney is expected to be ready for the start of the regular season. He's incredibly talented, and everyone should be excited about Toney catching passes from QB Patrick Mahomes. However, this knee 'tweak' was on a previously injured knee, and Toney always seems to be banged up. Expect guys like Skyy Moore and Richie James to do more with Toney out of action. --------------------------------------------------------------- [NO: Michael Thomas a full-go]() Source: NewOrleansSaints.com New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas (foot) is expected to be a full participant in training camp, according to head coach Dennis Allen. Our view: We'll believe it when we see it. Thomas has struggled with various injuries over the last few years, but he might actually be healthy. If he's healthy, Thomas will be the no.2 wide receiver opposite of Chris Olave. From a fantasy perspective, GMs are taking him as a late-round flier in 12-team leagues. --------------------------------------------------------------- [DET: Jameson Williams out a day or two]( Source: DetroitLions.com - Tim Twentyman Detroit Lions WR Jameson Williams (leg) will miss a day or two due to a leg injury suffered Monday, July 24. Our view: It's nothing serious, but this leg injury is still something to monitor. Williams can be a great weapon for this offense, but he's due to miss six games as he's been suspended for violating the NFL gambling policy. Fantasy GMs are taking Williams as a late-round flier in PPR leagues, and he certainly has (at least) deep flex appeal. --------------------------------------------------------------- [WAS: Byron Pringle signs with Commanders](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Free-agent WR Byron Pringle (Bears) agreed to an undisclosed deal with the Washington Commanders Tuesday, July 25. Our view: Pringle gets reunited with OC Eric Bieniemy, as he played with the Chiefs under Bienemy from 2019-2021. He didn't do much with the Bears last season (nine catches, 130 yards, two touchdowns in 10 games), but has a chance to make the Commanders' roster. --------------------------------------------------------------- [NO: Jimmy Graham signs with Saints](=) Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero Free-agent TE Jimmy Graham (Bears) agreed to a one-year deal with the New Orleans Saints Tuesday, July 25. Financial terms weren't disclosed. Our view: Graham returns to New Orleans after not playing in 2022 and two prior seasons with the Bears. He's going to be there for veteran depth behind Foster Moreau and Taysom Hill. Graham is 37 years old later this year and not the same player he used to be, so don't expect much from a fantasy perspective. --------------------------------------------------------------- [SEA: Seattle works out three]() Source: Click2Houston.com - Aaron Wilson Free-agent WRs Lee Morris and Milton Wright and QB Reid Sinnett worked out for the Seattle Seahawks on Monday, July 24. Our view: Wright was not selected in the Supplemental Draft, so he is free to sign with any team. He did have prior workouts, where he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.69 seconds and posted a 31-inch vertical jump. We'll see if the Seahawks give him a chance to make the team - or at least the practice squad - as a developmental player. --------------------------------------------------------------- [BUF: Darrynton Evans signs with Bills](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Updating previous reports, free-agent RB Darrynton Evans (Colts) signed an undisclosed deal with the Buffalo Bills Tuesday, July 25. Our view: With RB Nyheim Hines out for the year, the Bills needed another running back in the room. Evans is an efficient runner, but he's battling for the no.4 job on the depth chart behind James Cook, Damien Harris, and Latavius Murray. --------------------------------------------------------------- [LVR: Las Vegas checks out Abram Smith]() Source: KPRC.com - Aaron Wilson Free-agent RB Abram Smith (XFL) worked out for the Las Vegas Raiders on Tuesday, July 25. Our view: Undrafted out of Baylor last year, Smith spent some time with the Saints as a rookie. He's got talent as a runner, so we've been monitoring him in crazy deep dynasty leagues. The Raiders need more help at the position with RB Josh Jacobs staying away from the team, so perhaps they'll give Smith a shot. --------------------------------------------------------------- [NFL: Antoine Wesley cleared](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Free-agent WR Antoine Wesley (Cardinals) has been medically cleared and is ready to workout for teams, according to a source on Monday, July 24. Our view: Undrafted out of Texas Tech in 2019, Wesley has spent time with the Ravens and the Cardinals. An injured quadriceps had him placed on IR last year with the Cardinals. --------------------------------------------------------------- [ARI: Damien Williams worked out]() Source: NFL.com Free-agent RB Damien Williams (Falcons) worked out for the Arizona Cardinals Monday, July 24. Our view: Williams had some good tape with the Chiefs years ago, but he's just trying to latch on as a reserve player. He spent most of last season out of the league, but the Cardinals need veteran depth at the position. That'll do it for today, Folks. Thanks for reading and thanks for being part of the Footballguys Family. We'll see you tomorrow with the Update. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
