[Check Out the New Rankings]( Inside This Issue [ARI - QB Murray Says Sky Is the Limit](=) Source: ProFootballTalk.com Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray is quite confident in his team's prospects for the 2023 season. "The way we're going, the way I feel like, personally, the sky is the limit." Murray said on the team's YouTube channel in a recent interview. Our view: Let's pump the brakes on the whole "sky is the limit" thing when it comes to the Cardinals. What else is Murray going to say? He is a question mark for the start of the regular season due to ACL surgery. Murray is recovering well according to reports, but the team may still need veteran QB Colt McCoy as their starter at the beginning of the year. --------------------------------------------------------------- [LVR - Josh Jacobs may skip start of camp](=) Source: FOX5 Vegas - Paloma Villicana Las Vegas Raiders RB Josh Jacobs will skip the start of training camp if he does not receive a long-term contract before the July 17 deadline, according to a source. Our view: Deals get done at deadlines, but unlike the case with Giants RB Saquon Barkley, there doesn't seem to be as much hope here. Jacobs could skip the start of camp in protest of not getting a new deal before Monday's deadline. However, we're unsure if Jacobs would hold out into the regular season. --------------------------------------------------------------- [CLE - Elijah Moore moving around]( Source: The Athletic - Zac Jackson Cleveland Browns WR Elijah Moore lined up all across the formation, including in the backfield, during spring practices, according to Zac Jackson of The Athletic. Our view: It just makes sense to use a talent like Moore in a number of different ways. If he stays healthy and if QB Deshaun Watson plays better, Moore has plenty of upside with the Browns' offense. There's flex appeal here with Moore if he hits on his potential in 2023. Right now, Fantasy GMs are taking a chance on him as a WR5/deep flex option in drafts. --------------------------------------------------------------- [NE - QB Jones Out There Competing]() Source: ProFootballTalk.com New England Patriots S Adrian Phillips recently spoke about the team's quarterback situation on the team's official website. "One thing I'll say, and pretty much the only thing I'll say is that I'm not in the meetings with them, so I don't know what's going on over there, but I will say that Mac is competing, all those guys are competing, and we're going to ride with whoever's out there. That's a decision that's up to Bill and those guys on offensive side, but we're rocking with them either way and we're just kind of worried about the defensive side." Phillips said. Our view: Jones has to beat out Bailey Zappe for the starting job in training camp. Zappe is not afraid to challenge a defense, so he won't back down in the preseason. No matter who wins the starting job, it sounds like the defense is ready to back that guy and do some heavy lifting as the Patriots want to push for the postseason in 2023. --------------------------------------------------------------- [BAL - Big workloads rare for J.K. Dobbins]( Source: The Athletic - Jeff Zrebiec Baltimore Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins has had more than 15 carries in a game just once in his career. Our view: Stop us if you've heard this before; Dobbins is going to split time with Gus Edwards. Also, QB Lamar Jackson is going to be a threat as a runner even though new OC Todd Monken will be much more creative as a play caller. Dobbins is best considered a low-end RB2 for Fantasy GMs. Sure, the upside is there for him to be more but there's the split with Edwards and the threat of Jackson that are potential limits to his production on a weekly basis. --------------------------------------------------------------- [JAX - Evan Engram may not get long-term deal]( Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Charean Williams Jacksonville Jaguars TE Evan Engram's prospects for signing a long-term deal with the team are 'up in the air' as the July 17 deadline approaches for franchised-tagged players to sign a long-term deal, according to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports. Our view: Engram missed voluntary work this offseason as he didn't have a long-term contract, but Jaguars GM Trent Baalke has already expressed confidence in the two sides working out a deal. Well, the time is almost up to work something out. Monday is going to be a big day around the league as teams with franchise-tagged players will need to get something done or risk a holdout from a disgruntled (and good) player. --------------------------------------------------------------- [SEA - QB Smith Matured and Changed Last Year](=) Source: ProFootballTalk.com Seattle Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf said something changed with QB Geno Smith last year when he took over as the starter. Appearing on the Getcha Popcorn Ready with T.O. & Hatch podcast, Metcalf said "He's watching film. He's not talking. He just had his head down and he's working. Week Eight, he gave us a pregame speech and you could just see everyone locked in on him because they had seen how much he had matured and changed. He wasn't the same Geno. He was like, 'This is my team now. Ya'll are gonna listen. I've put in the work and I've put in the time to where I have stapled my name in Seattle.' And everybody just started to respect him." Our view: Smith spent time as a backup behind QB Russell Wilson, and he bided his time to get a chance as the starter again. When Wilson was traded away, Smith had to beat out QB Drew Lock for the starting job. He did that, and then he went on to post great numbers as the Seahawks' main man. We see Smith as a low-end QB1 this season as he enters his second season as the starter. That'll do it for today, Folks. Thanks for reading and thanks for being part of the Footballguys Family.
