[] 1. [SF - George Kittle to be scaled back?](=) Source: ESPN.com - Nick Wagoner San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle could be scaled back to a degree in 2023 after averaging 52 snaps per game since he entered the league. 'It's not that we want to take plays off of George, because he's one of the best players in the league and you want to have him out there, especially in critical moments,' tight ends coach Brian Fleury said. 'But we also want to have the ability to function at a high level in the event that he potentially breaks a chin strap and has to come out for a few plays.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Kittle hit double-digit touchdowns (11) for the first time in his career last season, and that number will be difficult to duplicate. Instead, Kittle is likely to settle in around 6-8 touchdowns this season. If he gets a little banged up (like he usually does), Kittle should project as a mid-tier TE1 with upside if he's healthy and more of a presence in the red zone (like he was in 2022). [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [BUF - Buffalo to turn Nyheim Hines loose?]() Source: The Buffalo News - Ryan O'Halloran Buffalo Bills RB Nyheim Hines 'can function in anything' the Bills do on offense, according to running backs coach Kelly Skipper. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hines can do a bit of it all as a runner and receiver. Not only can Hines catch passes out of the backfield, but the Bills can line him up from the slot if need be. We'll see free-agent addition RB Damien Harris do the heavy lifting on the ground, and second-year pro RB James Cook will bring explosion to the field in the running and passing game. Hines will get work behind those two, so 'turning him loose' could actually mean he catches around 20-30 passes in a reserve role this season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [CIN - Mixon/Team Want Resolution Sooner Rather Than Later](=) Source: Paul Dehner Jr. - The Athletic Paul Dehner, from The Athletic, reports both the Cincinnati Bengals and RB Joe Mixon want a resolution to his contract situation 'sooner rather than later.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We'll see what kind of pay cut Mixon has to take to stay with the team. Most believe that Mixon will agree to the cut, but nobody yet knows how much they want to trim from his $12.7 million cap hit. If Mixon refuses and the team moves on, rookie RB Chase Brown is a player Fantasy GMs are excited about. Veteran RB Trayveon Williams is also there to get more opportunities if needed. We may not have a decision on this until we're well into training camp and the preseason. [TEN - WR Philips Has Solid Offseason](=) Source: Jim Wyatt - TennesseeTitans.com Jim Wyatt, from TennesseeTitans.com, reports Tennessee Titans WR Kyle Philips has 'put on some extra weight and has been solid' this offseason. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Philips was a fifth-round pick out of UCLA in the 2022 NFL draft. As a rookie, Philips appeared in four games (a hamstring injury limited him), catching eight passes for 78 yards on 13 targets. This season, Philips is the likely slot receiver and no.3 on the Titans' depth chart behind Treylon Burks and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine. We'll keep an eye on him, but only in super-deep dynasty formats that feature PPR scoring. [Back to Top](#top) ---------------------------------------------------------------
[] 5. [BAL - Keaton Mitchell could make roster]() Source: The Athletic - Jeff Zrebiec Baltimore Ravens RB Keaton Mitchell has 'gotten a good amount of attention' during spring practices, according to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic, and Zrebiec believes there is 'an opening' for Mitchell to make the 53-man roster. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Undrafted out of East Carolina earlier this year, Mitchell is one of our favorite deep sleepers at the running back position from this class. He's not a three-down back, with a body type more like a change-of-pace back, but Mitchell is a threat to score anytime he touches the ball. The Ravens have J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards as their top two backs, but Mitchell could earn a spot as an explosive runner/receiver behind them on the depth chart. [NYJ - NYJ has done homework on Dalvin Cook]( Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler Free-agent RB Dalvin Cook (Vikings) has had homework done on him by the New York Jets, who are in the mix for him, according to sources. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] With second-year RB Breece Hall coming back from an ACL tear in his rookie season, the Jets may not want to take any chances. Cook would instantly be the centerpiece of the ground game for QB Aaron Rodgers and company if he was added to the Jets' roster. Reports have been positive about Hall's recovery, but we'll have to see what kind of updates are ahead with training camp and the preseason coming up. Stay tuned. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [CAR - QB Young Working with Teammates at SMU](=) Source: Charean Williams - ProFootballTalk.com Charean Williams, from ProFootballTalk.com, reports Carolina Panthers QB Bryce Young is working with WRs Adam Thielen, DJ Chark, Terrace Marshall, and Laviska Shenault at SMU. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Thielen was recently interviewed by Rich Eisen, and he commented on how with more time together more confidence will be made between teammates. Young plays with a high level of intelligence, and he'll be able to process what a defense is going to do quickly. He'll have some bumps along the way as a rookie, but we imagine his learning curve will be shorter than other rookie passers. Working this offseason with his weapons can only help their on-field chemistry with Young expected to be the starter in Week 1.
