We polled the Footballguys Staff asking for players they see as undervalued and overvalued. The trends and consensus (or lack of it) are super helpful. In this one, they look at the defensive linemen they see as overvalued. [] INSIDE THIS ISSUE 1. [MIA - Tyreek Hill being investigated](#1) 2. [NYG - WR Hodgins Running with First Team](#8) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [MIA - Tyreek Hill being investigated]( Source: ESPN.com - Marcel Louis-Jacques Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill is under investigation on allegations of assault/battery at a Miami Beach marina, a spokesperson for the Miami-Dade Police Department said Tuesday, June 20. According to WPLG-TV in Miami, Hill allegedly hit a marina employee during a 'disagreement' that took place Sunday. Miami sports radio show host Andy Slater reported that Hill slapped the employee on the back of the head but that the employee has declined to press charges at this time. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We'll keep an eye on this for you and we'll see how and if the league reacts. An investigation by authorities will first take place, but Hill's history with these types of incidents could prompt the league into action. It always bears watching anytime something like this comes up for a player as highly ranked as Hill and we'll stay on this for you. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [NYG - Saquon Barkley contract extension talks pick back up](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport New York Giants franchise tag RB Saquon Barkley and the team have reportedly resumed contract extension talks after the two sides took a long pause, mostly as a result of Barkley's dissatisfaction with potentially playing on a one-year contract worth $10.1 million as opposed to a long-term deal, according to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Barkley wants a new contract, but he doesn't want to reset the running back market according to reports. Earlier this year, Barkley was asked whether or not he would consider sitting out the 2023 season, and he replied "that's a card I could play." Talks resuming is a good sign with less than a month left to go in order to work out a new long-term deal. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [CHI - The Foundation is There for QB Fields]( Source: Ted Nguyen - The Athletic Chicago Bears QB Justin Fields has the foundation to make a dramatic improvement as a passer in 2023 according to Ted Nguyen of The Athletic. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Bears HC Matt Eberflus and OC Luke Getsy are working with Fields for the second season, and many are expecting him to improve greatly as a passer this year. Making the trade for WR D.J. Moore should help greatly, and so should Fields' comfort in the offense. The team wants him to decide quickly when getting rid of the ball, but they don't want him to be robotic. The physical tools are there, now we just need to see if Fields can put it all together. From a fantasy perspective, Fields is a QB1 due to his rushing ability. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [NYG - WR Crowder on the Bubble?]() Source: Dan Duggan - The Athletic New York Giants WR Jamison Crowder was left off the 53-man roster projection of Dan Duggan from The Athletic. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Giants have a collection of talent at the wide receiver position, so it's going to be tough for Crowder to make the final roster. The veteran will compete with guys like Darius Slayton, Isaiah Hodgins, Parris Campbell, and Jalin Hyatt to create a depth chart. Both Sterling Shepard and Wan'Dale Robinson could begin the season on the PUP list. If/when released, Crowder could easily latch on with another team that doesn't have such a jam-packed WR room and is looking for veteran depth. [PIT - RB Warren to Be More Involved?]() Source: Mark Kaboly - The Athletic Pittsburgh Steelers RB Jaylen Warren has had a great offseason, and he could be in line for a larger role according to Mark Kaboly of The Athletic. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Undrafted out of Oklahoma State in 2022, Warren did more for the Steelers as the season went on. He's the primary backup to starting RB Najee Harris, but Warren looked better at times. Instead of being a passing-down back, Warren might get more work outside of third downs. The Steelers will implement some form of RBBC this year, and we'll gather more clues during training camp and the preseason. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [NYJ - TE Ruckert a Big Winner at OTAs](=) Source: Zack Rosenblatt - The Athletic New York Jets TE Jeremy Ruckert is considered one of the 'big winners' from OTAs according to Zack Rosenblatt from The Athletic. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Jets have a talented group of tight ends with Tyler Conklin and C.J. Uzomah ahead of Ruckert on the depth chart. Ruckert, a 2022 third-round pick from Ohio State, will continue to be a player we monitor in dynasty formats. He's got the athleticism to create mismatches, but Ruckert will have to be patient in order to get a larger chance in the pros. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [100% Deposit Match Up To $100 At Underdog Fantasy]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [DEN - WR Patrick Looking to Bounce Back]( Source: Nick Kosmider - The Athletic Denver Broncos WR Tim Patrick was a full participant at mandatory minicamp as he looks to bounce back from a lost season in 2022 per Nick Kosmider of The Athletic. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A training camp knee injury knocked Patrick out of action in 2022. Now healthy, Patrick looks swift on the practice field for the Broncos. Someone is going to play the Michael Thomas role for new Broncos' HC Sean Payton. That could be Patrick, although Payton sure does seem to love him some Jerry Jeudy. Oh yeah, Courtland Sutton is still there - and he's looking better than he has in years. For a run-heavy team (think 2021 Saints), the Broncos have a stockpile of fine wide receiver talent. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [NYG - WR Hodgins Running with First Team]() Source: Jordan Raanan - ESPN.com New York Giants WR Isaiah Hodgins was mostly with the first-team offense during the Giants' offseason program. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hodgins was a reserve for the Bills for a couple of seasons, bouncing on and off their practice squad. The Giants plucked him off waivers in November of last year, and he's worked to impress under a staff he was used to (HC Brian Daboll was the Bills' OC). Hodgins has a nice size/speed combination, and he can use his frame to box out smaller defenders. Entering training camp, Hodgins is one of the top three receivers in the offense.
