[] 1. [DAL - Door still open for Ezekiel Elliott return]() Source: The Dallas Morning News - Michael Gehlken Free-agent RB Ezekiel Elliott (Cowboys) and the Dallas Cowboys are evaluating their respective futures, according to team owner Jerry Jones, who also noted that the team has not ruled out Elliott returning for another season with the Cowboys. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jones loves Elliott, and the longer the veteran back stays out there on the open market the greater the chances he returns to Dallas. The Cowboys are ready to turn things over to Tony Pollard, but adding Elliott would give them veteran depth with a player they know well. He's not the same player he used to be, but Elliott could work as a short-yardage back to move the chains or get into the end zone when the team gets close. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [DAL - Dallas unlikely to pursue DeAndre Hopkins]() Source: The Dallas Morning News - Michael Gehlken Free-agent WR DeAndre Hopkins (Cardinals) is 'unlikely' to sign with the Dallas Cowboys, according to team owner Jerry Jones on Monday, June 5. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Cowboys have around $20 MM in cap space, but they're not likely to use it on Hopkins. Instead, they could bring back RB Ezekiel Elliott to be a reserve behind starting RB Tony Pollard. Hopkins will have to play the waiting game, but it sounds like Dallas won't be getting involved in the pursuit of the star veteran receiver. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [NE - Mike Gesicki finding his role](=) Source: The Providence Journal - Mark Daniels New England Patriots TE Mike Gesicki and TE Hunter Henry have been on the field together in different offensive schemes during OTAs. 'Those two are going to work as a pair,' QB Mac Jones said. 'It might be different guys at times, but Mike definitely has playmaking ability. He's a smart football player, and I'm just excited to work with him.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Henry is the "Y" tight end for the team who can be out there as a blocker and receiver. Gesicki is practicing with the wide receivers during OTAs, and that's where his role is going to be - as a big-bodied receiver who can win down the seam. ESPN's Mike Reiss (the best Patriots reporter) believes the Patriots view Gesicki "as much as a receiver as a tight end." [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [ATL - Desmond Ridder primed for success?]() Source: AtlantaFalcons.com - Tori McElhaney Atlanta Falcons QB Desmond Ridder could benefit from the 'position-less football' philosophy that head coach Arthur Smith plans to utilize in 2023. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ridder has the physical talent to be a quality starter in this league. The Falcons have put great weapons around him, and we'll see if he can take that next step in year two. Ridder's game does crumble under pressure, so the Falcons will have to be ready with options when the young passer is under duress. [IND - Josh Downs remains sidelined]() Source: ColtsWire - Kevin Hickey Indianapolis Colts WR Josh Downs (knee) continues to be sidelined at organized team activities with a knee injury, per multiple reports on Sunday, June 4. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's bad news for the rookie who is missing valuable time learning the Colts' offense. He's set to be the slot receiver for QB Anthony Richardson with WRs Michael Pittman and Alec Pierce on the outside. When healthy, Downs will compete with Isaiah McKenzie for the slot position. [Back to Top](#top) ---------------------------------------------------------------
[] 6. [BUF - Leonard Floyd signs with Bills]( Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Free-agent LB Leonard Floyd (Rams) signed a one-year deal with the Buffalo Bills Monday, June 5. Financial terms weren't disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Rams tried trading Floyd earlier this year, but he was released back in March. Going to Buffalo reunites him with former teammate Von Miller. Floyd can still get after the quarterback, and he's had 29.0 sacks over the last three seasons. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [DAL - Antonio Callaway gets the boot]() Source: KPRC.com - Aaron Wilson Dallas Cowboys WR Antonio Callaway was released Monday, June 5. Free-agent WR Tyron Johnson was signed to an undisclosed contract to take his spot on the roster. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Undrafted in 2019 out of Oklahoma State (LSU transfer), Johnson did flash earlier in his career with the Chargers. Since then, Johnson has bounced around to nine different teams in the NFL. He's got talent, but clearly Johnson is a long-shot to do much of anything with the Cowboys. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [100% Deposit Match Up To $100 At Underdog Fantasy]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [IND - Breshad Perriman signs with Colts](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Free-agent WR Breshad Perriman (Buccaneers) signed an undisclosed deal with the Indianapolis Colts Monday, June 5. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Perriman's career can best be summed up by the phrase "what might have been." He's flashed in various stops across the NFL, but Perriman failed to stay healthy and play up to the potential that made him a first-round pick in the 2015 NFL draft. He's still got a nice size/speed combination and gives the Colts veteran depth at the position. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [DAL - Jalen Tolbert 'making waves' at OTAs](=) Source: DallasCowboys.com - Patrik Walker Dallas Cowboys WR Jalen Tolbert has been 'making waves' at organized team activities, writes Patrik Walker of DallasCowboys.com. 'Jalen Tolbert is already making some waves in the war for WR4, and that's a good sign that he's mentally ready to challenge who appears to be the frontrunner at the moment: Simi Fehoko,' Walker wrote on Thursday, June 1. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A third-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft, Tolbert is a second-year player who could make a jump in 2023. He's a talented player with physical gifts, but Tolbert is currently no.4 on the depth chart behind CeeDee Lamb, Brandin Cooks, and Michael Gallup. If one of those guys goes down, Tolbert is there to do more. We love him in dynasty formats.
