[SF - Brock Purdy cleared to throw](=) Source: ESPN.com - Nick Wagoner San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy (elbow) was cleared to start a throwing program Tuesday, May 30, according to general manager John Lynch. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Another day, and another positive story about Purdy's recovery. Lynch said the team is "incredibly encouraged" by Purdy's recovery, and the second-year pro is the "leader in the clubhouse" in the battle for the starting job. Purdy should be ready to participate in training camp later this summer, and he will be competing with Trey Lance for the top spot. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [LVR - Coach not worried about Jimmy Garoppolo]() Source: Las Vegas Review-Journal - Vincent Bonsignore Las Vegas Raiders QB Jimmy Garoppolo's (foot) availability for training camp and the regular season is not a concern for the team, according to head coach Josh McDaniel. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's not a concern at the beginning of June, but we'll be patiently waiting for late July to see where Garoppolo's health status is at. There have been rumblings that the Raiders could move on if Garoppolo is not ready to go. That would give them a choice of Brian Hoyer or rookie QB Aidan O'Connell as their starter (or they'd have to acquire another passer). [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [HOU - DeAndre Hopkins willing to join HOU]() Source: Houston Chronicle - Brooks Kubena Free-agent WR DeAndre Hopkins (Cardinals) is open to signing with the Houston Texans this offseason, according to a source. The Texans likely will have to clear some salary cap space if they want to add Hopkins. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Texans have $16.8 million in cap space per OverTheCap.com. That ranks no.7 in the NFL, so they have a leg up when compared to other teams in the mix like the Bills or the Chiefs. We'll see if Hopkins signs with his old team as they are clearly in a rebuilding phase with rookie QB C.J. Stroud under center. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [BUF - Buffalo not expected to add DeAndre Hopkins](=) Source: The Athletic - Tim Graham Free-agent WR DeAndre Hopkins (Cardinals) is considered a long shot to sign with the Buffalo Bills, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Bills rank no.30 in the league when it comes to salary cap space. With only around $1.4 million in cap space, the Bills would have to do a bunch of salary cap gymnastics to make room for Hopkins. Reports indicate Hopkins is going to have a choice of getting a bag of money or a taking a reduction in pay for a chance to join a Super Bowl contender. Stay tuned. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [NE - Tyquan Thornton showing out](=) Source: Patriots.com - Evan Lazar New England Patriots WR Tyquan Thornton was the 'epicenter' of several offensive schemes that offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien has been installing during OTAs, according to Evan Lazar of Patriots.com. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This is an interesting report, and we're excited to see what Thornton can do in the preseason. He was a speed merchant in college, but Thornton ran a limited route tree. It sounds like O'Brien's scheme may be moving him around to use his speed as a weapon. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [NFL - Tom Brady certain he's done]() Source: 1 No Source Future Hall of Fame QB Tom Brady said Thursday, June 1, that he is certain he's not playing in the NFL again. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Brady is on to the next chapter in his life. That includes owning part of the Las Vegas Raiders, and apparently, it does not include playing football again. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [CLE - Amari Cooper back on field]() Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper (abdomen) participated in practice Wednesday, May 31. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Cooper is coming off core surgery to repair a problem that bothered him during the 2022 season. We'll see if he can stay healthy and establish better chemistry with QB Deshaun Watson this year. [TEN - Treylon Burks the go-to guy?]() Source: TennesseeTitans.com - Jim Wyatt Tennessee Titans WR Treylon Burks has been the favorite target of QB Ryan Tannehill during OTAs, according to Jim Wyatt of TennesseeTitans.com. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Everyone needs to keep listening for this drumbeat. Burks can gash defenses after the catch, and he can help the Titans' offense move the chains. The Titans are almost in rebuilding mode, so it's important to note how Burks works with Tannehill and rookie QB Will Levis (if he gets any first-team work). [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [CAR - Hayden Hurst to practice Friday]( Source: Charlotte Observer - Mike Kaye Carolina Panthers TE Hayden Hurst (hernia) will participate in individual drills during practice Friday, June 2. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] With only Tommy Tremble and Ian Thomas to beat out, Hurst is in line to be the lead tight end for the Panthers. That makes him a potential security blanket for rookie QB Bryce Young. There's some fantasy value there as a TE2 if Hurst can stay healthy...which has been a problem for him during his pro career. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [KC - Justyn Ross drawing rave reviews]() Source: NFL Network - James Palmer Kansas City Chiefs WR Justyn Ross (foot) has drawn rave reviews from head coach Andy Reid in early practices. 'Justyn is coming along,' Reid said. 'He feels good, his foot feels good (and) the surgery that he had worked out well up to this point. He's made some nice plays for us out here. I know Pat's (Mahomes) got trust in him.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ross is a player we've been excited about in deep dynasty formats since he came into the league as an undrafted free agent out of Clemson in 2022. His first two seasons at Clemson (2018,2019) Ross showed incredible ability with 1,865 yards and 17 touchdowns. He's fast, has length, and he's got the 'my ball' mentality to win contested catches regularly. He's got to stay healthy, as injuries derailed his career in college, but the upside is there for Ross to be a star in this league. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [100% Deposit Match Up To $100 At Underdog Fantasy]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [CHI - Chase Claypool sidelined at OTAs]() Source: WSCR Radio-Chicago - Mark Grote Chicago Bears WR Chase Claypool (undisclosed) did not practice Wednesday, May 31, due to a soft tissue injury. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Claypool has a ton of talent, but injuries keep him out of action quite a bit. After getting traded to Chicago in 2022, Claypool only had 14 catches for 140 yards in seven games. He's had an entire offseason to get up to speed with the playbook, and now this undisclosed injury is keeping him from participating in practice. Let's see what Claypool can do in training camp before considering him as any sort of late-round flier in fantasy leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [GB - Romeo Doubs working on chemistry with QB]() Source: Green Bay Press-Gazette - Ryan Wood Green Bay Packers WR Romeo Doubs has shown a good connection with QB Jordan Love during offseason workouts and wants to be a reliable target for Love. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Doubs has a lot of "dog" in his game. He fights for the ball, and he wants to win on every route. Doubs can make acrobatic catches seem routine, and the second-year pro should be able to become a favorite for Love in training camp and the preseason. He's a WR5 with upside from a fantasy perspective, and we expect his ADP to rise as the season draws near - especially if he's making plays in camp and the preseason. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [CAR - WR Laviska Shenault may have several roles]() Source: NFL.com - Kevin Patra Carolina Panthers WR Laviska Shenault Jr. could be used in multiple ways in the offense this upcoming season, according to head coach Frank Reich. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Shenault has always been the type of player who can move around the formation and attack a defense as a runner or receiver. If he stays healthy, Shenault can be a gadget player with plenty of versatility. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks.
