Lynch said the team is "incredibly encouraged" by Purdy's recovery, and the second-year pro is the "leader in the clubhouse" in the battle for the starting job. Purdy should be ready to participate in training camp later this summer, and he will be competing with Trey Lance for the top spot. The Texans likely will have to clear some salary cap space if they want to add Hopkins. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Texans have $16.8 million in cap space per OverTheCap.com. That ranks no.7 in the NFL, so they have a leg up when compared to other teams in the mix like the Bills or the Chiefs. With only around $1.4 million in cap space, the Bills would have to do a bunch of salary cap gymnastics to make room for Hopkins. 'Justyn is coming along,' Reid said. 'He feels good, his foot feels good (and) the surgery that he had worked out well up to this point. He's made some nice plays for us out here. I know Pat's (Mahomes) got trust in him.' His first two seasons at Clemson (2018,2019) Ross showed incredible ability with 1,865 yards and 17 touchdowns. He's fast, has length, and he's got the 'my ball' mentality to win contested catches regularly. He's got to stay healthy, as injuries derailed his career in college, but the upside is there for Ross to be a star in this league. After getting traded to Chicago in 2022, Claypool only had 14 catches for 140 yards in seven games. He's had an entire offseason to get up to speed with the playbook, and now this undisclosed injury is keeping him from participating in practice. Let's see what Claypool can do in training camp before considering him as any sort of late-round flier in fantasy leagues. Doubs can make acrobatic catches seem routine, and the second-year pro should be able to become a favorite for Love in training camp and the preseason. He's a WR5 with upside from a fantasy perspective, and we expect his ADP to rise as the season draws near - especially if he's making plays in camp and the preseason.
