Sure, he was a backup in college at Texas but that was behind superstar RB Bijon Robinson (Falcons). Johnson could be like Priest Holmes was; a college backup to Ricky Williams who went on to great pro success in his own right. Johnson has good size and a three-down skill set, meaning he doesn't need to come off the field. Like a young Holmes (who was a reserve with the Ravens before he was a star with the Chiefs), Johnson may have to wait his turn to get a featured role. Right now, the rookie is no.3 on the depth chart with the Bears behind D'Onta Foreman and Khalil Herbert. Bonds caught 180 passes for 2,731 yards and 34 touchdowns in 40 collegiate games, earning an invite to the East-West Shrine Bowl. During the week of practice, Bonds showed he knows how to use his size to shield smaller defenders away from the ball. The Packers now have 11 wide receivers on the roster, so Bonds has his work cut out for him even if he wants a spot on the practice squad.
