[BAL - Lamar Jackson arrives](=) Source: The Athletic - Jeff Zrebiec Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson arrived for the second day of organized team activities Tuesday, May 23. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jackson is in the building! He did not attend the first day, but reports indicated he would show up for OTAs and he did. Jackson is learning a new offense under OC Todd Monken, and it should feature him as a runner and as a passer. A finish as the best fantasy quarterback in 2023 is not out of the realm of possibilities for Jackson. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [NYJ - Breece Hall not practicing]() Source: The Athletic - Zack Rosenblatt New York Jets RB Breece Hall (knee) isn't participating in organized team activities Tuesday, May 23. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] No surprise here. The Jets will ease Hall back into action as he continues to recover from the ACL that cost him most of his rookie season in 2022. Michael Carter or rookie RB Israel Abanikanda will get more work in camp as a result. We'll know more about Hall's health once training camp gets here. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [NYJ - Aaron Rodgers nursing calf strain](=) Source: CBS Sports HQ - Josina Anderson Updating a previous report, New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers (calf) was diagnosed with a calf strain after leaving practice early Tuesday, May 23. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Rodgers is no spring chicken, so there are going to be some bumps and bruises along the way. The expectation is that Rodgers should be back 'fairly quick,' according to this report. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [JAX - Calvin Ridley picking up where he left off](=) Source: SI.com - John Shipley Jacksonville Jaguars WR Calvin Ridley 'simply moves differently than any other wide receiver on the field,' according to SI.com's John Shipley. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ridley was a tremendous addition for the Jaguars offense. When he gets up to speed in the offense, Ridley could be their no.1 wideout. He'll work for targets with a talented group of pass-catchers like Christian Kirk, Zay Jones, and Evan Engram. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [CAR - Bryce Young, Andy Dalton split work]( Source: Charlotte Observer - Mike Kaye Carolina Panthers QB Bryce Young and QB Andy Dalton both received work with the first-team offense during practice Monday, May 22. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This is what we expected from early on in Panthers' camp. As the summer rolls along, we should see Young get more of the work. They're not just going to hand him the job, but Young has shown a tremendous grasp of the offense so far and he's cleary the quarterback of the future. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [HOU - John Metchie sidelined](=) Source: Click2Houston.com - Aaron Wilson Houston Texans WR John Metchie (hamstring) is dealing with a strained hamstring but is expected to be ready for training camp, per sources on Monday, May 22. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Metchie has talent, and he's trying to impress the new staff after missing all of his rookie season due to a battle with acute promyelocytic leukemia. The team has no need to rush him back. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [CHI - Roschon Johnson under contract](=) Source: ChicagoBears.com - Larry Mayer Chicago Bears fourth-round draft choice RB Roschon Johnson signed a four-year contract with the Bears Monday, May 22. Financial terms were not disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Johnson was one of our favorite sleepers in this draft. Sure, he was a backup in college at Texas but that was behind superstar RB Bijon Robinson (Falcons). Johnson could be like Priest Holmes was; a college backup to Ricky Williams who went on to great pro success in his own right. Johnson has good size and a three-down skill set, meaning he doesn't need to come off the field. Like a young Holmes (who was a reserve with the Ravens before he was a star with the Chiefs), Johnson may have to wait his turn to get a featured role. Right now, the rookie is no.3 on the depth chart with the Bears behind D'Onta Foreman and Khalil Herbert. [ATL - Atlanta swaps out a pair of WRs]() Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper Free-agent WR JJ Arcega-Whiteside signed a contract with the Atlanta Falcons on Monday, May 22. WR Jared Bernhardt was placed on the Reserve/Retired list to make room for him on the roster. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Arecega-Whiteside has been both a wide receiver and a tight end in the NFL. A second-round pick by the Eagles in 2019, Arcega-Whiteside failed to make the Seahawks after the preseason in 2022. We'll see if he can impress the Falcons enough with his versatility to earn a roster spot. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [LAC - LA sweetens Austin Ekeler's deal]( Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Los Angeles Chargers RB Austin Ekeler, who had requested a trade, reworked his deal with some added incentives Tuesday, May 23. He's expected to attend mini-camp June 13 after the team added $1.75 million in incentives to his deal. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This is what Ekeler could get from the team, and he's still set to hit free agency after this season. Ekeler can do it all, and so long as he stays healthy Fantasy GMs will get what they expect from him this season - and that's a RB1 with the upside to be the best fantasy back in the league. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [BAL - Rashod Bateman taking part in OTAs]( Source: BaltimoreRavens.com - Clifton Brown Baltimore Ravens WR Rashod Bateman (foot) participated in the team's first organized team activity Monday, May 22. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Bateman has talent, but injuries have held him back in each of his first two seasons in the NFL. This year, the Ravens have guys like Odell Beckham Jr. and rookie Zay Flowers to give Bateman competition for snaps and targets at the wide receiver position. The new offense, thanks to OC Todd Monken, should feature those receivers more than what we're used to under former OC Greg Roman. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [100% Deposit Match Up To $100 At Underdog Fantasy]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [GB - Green Bay giving Jadakis Bonds a shot](=) Source: The Athletic - Matt Schneidman Undrafted free-agent WR Jadakis Bonds (Hampton) signed a contract with the Green Bay Packers on Tuesday, May 23. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Bonds has good size and holds many records at Hampton. Bonds caught 180 passes for 2,731 yards and 34 touchdowns in 40 collegiate games, earning an invite to the East-West Shrine Bowl. During the week of practice, Bonds showed he knows how to use his size to shield smaller defenders away from the ball. The Packers now have 11 wide receivers on the roster, so Bonds has his work cut out for him even if he wants a spot on the practice squad. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [MIN - Lucky Jackson catches on with Minnesota](=) Source: Vikings.com - Craig Peters Free-agent WR Lucky Jackson (XFL) signed an undisclosed contract with the Minnesota Vikings on Tuesday, May 23. DE Kenny Willekes was waived to make room for him on the roster. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jackson had a strong showing for the D.C. Defenders this year, and he had 10 receptions of 20 yards or more. He was a deep threat coming out of Western Kentucky in 2019, and after bouncing around to the CFL and the XFL we'll see if he can stick with the Vikings. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [NYJ - Allen Lazard gives NYJ a bit of a scare]( Source: ESPN - Dianna Russini New York Jets WR Allen Lazard (undisclosed) left the field with a trainer after suffering an undisclosed injury during organized team activities Tuesday, May 23. However, Lazard returned to the field later to take part in 7-on-7 drills. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Nothing to see here people. Lazard has battled through some injuries during his pro career, but this is nothing to worry about.
