[BAL - Lamar Jackson likely to get some spring work in]( Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Myles Simmons Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson did not attend the first of the team's 10 organized team workouts Monday, May 22, but he is expected to be in attendance at some point later this week. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jackson will spend this offseason learning Todd Monken's system. His scheme should be more creative than the offense Jackson ran under former OC Greg Roman. They've got more weapons around him, and Jackson's upside in this offense is through the roof - for the Ravens and for Fantasy GMs. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [BUF - Buffalo high on Justin Shorter]() Source: Heavy.com Buffalo Bills WR Justin Shorter is a player the team believes can grow into a bigger role, according to general manager Brandon Beane. 'We really liked him,' Beane said. 'We brought him in for the 30 visit, really felt like this was our kind of DNA being around him a little bit more.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] There's a lot to like about Shorter, and that's why the Bills selected him in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL draft. Shorter is a big-bodied prospect who tracks downfield passes well. He can be used as a deep threat even though he doesn't have long speed because of his long arms, height, and leaping ability. Even though he wasn't a touchdown hog in college at either Penn State or Florida, his size could make him an attractive red-zone option. We'll monitor Shorter in dynasty formats with great interest. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [CAR - QB Corral Has No Interest in Being Traded]() Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper Josh Alper, from ProFootballTalk.com, reports Carolina Panthers QB Matt Corral has no interest in being traded after the team selected QB Bryce Young no.1 overall in the 2023 NFL draft. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Corral has talent, but his injury history reads like Infinite Jest. He was banged up in college, and even though he arguably had first-round talent Corral fell to the third round of the 2022 NFL draft. Corral was then hurt last year with a preseason Lisfranc injury. He has arm talent, and Corral is athletic enough to threaten a defense as a runner. Corral plays with little regard for his personal safety, and now he's just trying to earn a spot on the depth chart behind Young. We still appreciate his skill set in deep dynasty, but he'll have to change teams (most likely) to get his shot. Oh yeah, he'll have to stay healthy too. [WAS - Did Not Call QB Luck]() Source: Stephen Holder - ESPN.com Stephen Holder, from ESPN.com, reports the Washington Commanders never spoke to former Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck, and they did not violate the NFL's anti-tampering policy. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ESPN's John Keim had reported the Commanders had phoned about Luck, and that led Colts' owner Jim Irsay to take to Twitter. He tweeted that any conversations with Luck about returning to the NFL are a violation of the league's anti-tampering policy. In this report from Holder, the situation has been resolved between both teams. Luck is retired everyone, and his incredible potential was never reached because the Colts couldn't put a better offensive line in front of him. The Commanders move forward with Sam Howell as their likely starter in 2023. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [CAR - Hayden Hurst absent]( Source: Charlotte Observer - Mike Kaye Carolina Panthers TE Hayden Hurst (abdomen) was out of the first few organized team activities while he recovers from hernia surgery. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hurst has always had the talent to be a weapon in the NFL, but injuries and inconsistencies have held him back. Last year with the Bengals, Hurst caught 52 passes for 414 yards, and two touchdowns. This year with the Panthers, Hurst is expected to be the no.1 tight end - and there's some fantasy value there. If healthy in training camp and the preseason, Fantasy GMs will continue taking a chance on Hurst as a late-round lottery ticket pick at tight end. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [100% Deposit Match Up To $100 At Underdog Fantasy]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [NE - RB Montgomery Can Help](=) Source: Mike Reiss - ESPN.com Mike Reiss, from ESPN.com, reports New England Patriots RB Ty Montgomery has a great chance to be the third-down back and take the load off of starting RB Rhamondre Stevenson according to former Patriots RB coach Ivan Fears. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Montgomery has skill in the open field, but he's injury prone and in a jam-packed competition to establish a pecking order behind Stevenson. Guys like James Robinson and Pierre Strong will be competing against Montgomery for the no.2 job on the depth chart. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [BAL - Josh Johnson signs with Ravens](=) Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Free-agent QB Josh Johnson (49ers) signed an undisclosed deal with the Baltimore Ravens Monday, May 22. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Johnson has played with nearly half the league, and he's been with the Ravens twice before in his career. He'll be working under OC Todd Monken and trying to get a spot on the 53-man roster behind starter Lamar Jackson and primary backup Tyler Huntley.
