[HOU - D'Onta Foreman arrested]() Source: The Associated Press Houston Texans RB D'Onta Foreman was arrested Sunday, July 16, and has been charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession and unlawful carrying of a weapon. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A third-round pick out of Texas in 2017, Foreman was expected to compete with Alfred Blue for touches/snaps behind starter Lamar Miller. Chip Lewis, Foreman's attorney in this matter, says that Foreman bought the handgun legally and had it secured in his car properly in accordance to Texas law. Lewis also says that Foreman did not possess (or smoke) the marijuana and that a passenger in the car was the culprit. [ARI - RB David Johnson ready for big workload]() Source: NFL.com - Max Meyer Arizona Cardinals RB [David Johnson](=) said he believes he can handle 30 touches per game like head coach Bruce Arians hopes to see this season. 'I feel like there's room for me to definitely carry more. I think the biggest thing is me learning and getting better and improving. So I feel like I can definitely get that 30 touches, not all rushing obviously, 30 touches per game,' Johnson said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Cardinals are going to use Johnson as the centerpiece of their offense once again this year. Fantasy owners know how valuable Johnson is as a runner and receiver out of the backfield and that's why he's at least a consideration for the no1 overall pick in any format. [PIT - Nothing close between PIT, Le'Veon Bell](=) Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell is not close to an agreement on a long-term contract with the Steelers at this point. The Steelers have until Monday, July 17, to sign Bell to a multi-year deal. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The deadline is closing in for all franchise-tagged players. We have a feeling this could go right up to the wire like others have in the past. The two sides should work feverishly through Monday to get something done. [MIN - Dalvin Cook to see 300 touches in 2017?]() Source: Minneapolis Star Tribune - Matt Vensel Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook broke loose for a run of 50 or more yards 10 times during his Florida State career, and while the Minneapolis Star Tribune's Matt Vensel believes the Vikings might not ask him to take on 300 carries as a rookie, Vensel will also not rule it out. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Cook should be the lead back for the Vikings this year, perhaps as soon as Week 1 of the regular season. His primary competition for the position is free agent addition Latavius Murray and he's missed the offseason program recovering from ankle surgery he had back in March. Cook fell in the draft due to character concerns and fumbling problems at Florida State. If he hangs onto the rock and stays out of trouble, Cook has low end RB1 upside for fantasy owners with his all-purpose skill set. He's going off the board at RB29 (6.06) in 12-team PPR leagues. Sports - Jordan Schultz Arizona Cardinals WR [John Brown](=) will be the main beneficiary of the departure of Minnesota Vikings WR [Michael Floyd](=), according to Jordan Schultz of Yahoo! Sports. Floyd accounted for 88 targets for the Cardinals last season. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Brown is going to be the Cardinals no2 WR opposite Larry Fitzgerald in 2017 and there should be more buzz about him. He had a lingering concussion and complications from sickle cell anemia that limited him during his 15 starts in 2016. He's at full strength now, and Brown should build on his 2015 season of 65 catches, 1,003 yards, and 7 touchdowns. He's WR42 (9.02) in 12-team PPR leagues. [NO - WR Ted Ginn to be No. 3 WR]() Source: The Times-Picayune - Larry Holder New Orleans Saints WR [Ted Ginn](=) Jr. will be the team's No. 3 receiver this season and can also be used as a kick or punt returner. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] With Brandin Cooks traded to the Patriots, the Saints need Ginn to be their no3 WR behind Michael Thomas and Willie Snead. Ginn has more value in leagues that reward points for return yards, but in 12-team PPR leagues he's going off the board at WR65 (14.05). [WAS - QB Kirk Cousins open to deal after season]( Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Washington Redskins QB [Kirk Cousins](=) is not expected to sign a long-term deal before the 4 p.m. ET deadline Monday, July 17. However, Cousins is reportedly open to doing a deal with the team after this season as there has been 'a positive, constructive tone' to recent contract talks, per a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Cousins has been franchise-tagged each of the last two years. They can actually tag him for a third year (at a cost just above $34 million), but working out a long-term contract might (finally) make more sense. [IND - Indy not expected to sign Zachary Orr]() Source: Colts.com - Kevin Bowen Free-agent LB Zachary Orr (Ravens) that with the Indianapolis Colts two weeks ago, but it appears the team is not interested in signing him at this time, according to Kevin Bowen of colts.com. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Orr was contemplating (and pretty much did) retirement earlier this year due to a neck injury. He got a second opinion about a month ago that indicated he could resume his playing career. Orr's agent says 15 teams expressed interest but so far nobody has made an offer to the veteran linebacker. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [DEN - Denver getting closer to deal with QB John Elway]() Source: Colorado Springs Gazette - Woody Paige The Denver Broncos and executive vice president/general manager John Elway are continuing to negotiate a long-term agreement that could be privately finalized this week and announced shortly before training camp opens, according to Woody Paige of the Colorado Springs Gazette. The deal could pay Elway $30 million to $35 million over the course of five years, which would make him the NFL's highest-paid executive. In addition, Elway could receive the title of chief operating officer. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The salary for Elway has not really been the question. Since coming on board as an executive in 2011, the Broncos have won the AFC West every year but last year. They've made two Super Bowls during that time and won one championship. Elway may want a piece of the Broncos ownership, and that may be the cause of the holdup here. The two sides have been working on a deal since last October, but they might be able to get something done before training camp starts on July 27th. [IND - QB Scott Tolzien still the backup]() Source: Colts.com - Kevin Bowen Indianapolis Colts QB [Scott Tolzien](=) is ahead of QB [Stephen Morris](=) on the depth chart and would likely start in Week 1 if QB [Andrew Luck](=) (shoulder) isn't ready, according to Kevin Bowen to Colts.com. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Tolzien started the Week 12 game against the Steelers last year, going 22-of-36 for 205 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. All signs point to Luck being ready for Week 1 but that's not a given. Expect Luck to be limited during training camp and the preseason as he comes back from his January shoulder surgery. [PHI - Bryce Treggs trying to carve out role](=) Source: The Philadelphia Inquirer - Teddy Bailey Philadelphia Eagles WR [Bryce Treggs](=) has been growing as a receiver, according to QB [Carson Wentz](=), and Treggs said he is going to use training camp to try to gain Wentz's trust. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Undrafted out of Cal in 2016, Treggs was originally signed by the 49ers before the Eagles picked him up last year. He's a sharp route runner with plenty of speed, but a history of nagging injuries held Treggs back during his college career. The chemistry he's gaining with Wentz is important, but with so many additions to the WR position this offseason Treggs is competing for the no5 spot at best in training camp. Fantasy owners in super super deep dynasty leagues should be monitoring his progress but that's it. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [CIN - Cedric Ogbuehi finding comfort zone]() Source: Bengals.com - Dan Hoard Cincinnati Bengals OT Cedric Ogbuehi said he is a more confident player this season and more comfortable with his technique. 'Every day I'm getting better,' Ogbuehi said. 'I'm learning something every day and the game is slowing down.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] With Andrew Whitworth (Rams) gone in free agency, the Bengals need Ogbuehi to elevate his game and win a starting tackle job in 2017. The 2015 first-round pick has been a bust to this point in his career, but it looks like he's getting one more opportunity to prove his value to the team.
