[DAL - RB Ezekiel Elliott preparing for suspension?]( Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Dallas Cowboys RB [Ezekiel Elliott](=) is reportedly 'bracing' for a 'short suspension' of between one to two games for his alleged involvement in a 2016 domestic violence incident, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Elliott is a top-3 fantasy running back and that's the way he's getting drafted now. A suspension may cause him to fall just a bit, but if it's only one or two games you can probably ride that out with reserve RBs in your fantasy lineup. [IND - QB Andrew Luck's status still unclear]( Source: Colts.com - Kevin Bowen Indianapolis Colts QB [Andrew Luck](=) (shoulder) has still not indicated if he has begun the throwing portion of his shoulder rehab, but Kevin Bowen of Colts.com believes the fact that no veteran quarterback was signed this offseason means Luck is on track to start in Week 1. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] That's the plan for the Colts....but watch this situation closely in training camp and the preseason to see if it comes to fruition. A healthy Luck is a QB1 for fantasy owners. His current ADP is QB5 (6.06) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [CIN - Marvin Lewis has high praise for Joe Mixon]( Source: NFL.com - Conor Orr Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis admitted that RB Joe Mixon is 'off the charts talent-wise,' just from the brief time they have spent together on the football field. 'Big, fast, catch, run, see, smart -- and he's 20-year-old kid. He's as smart as a whip. You know, I mean, those things are fun. And I keep reminding everybody, he's a 20-year-old kid. Keep understanding that. Let Joe continue to grow and develop as we go.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Mixon is their version of Le'Veon Bell (Steelers). The rookie from Oklahoma can be a great running or receiving threat for the Bengals and he doesn't have to come off the field. [MIN - WR Michael Floyd receives suspension]() Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates Minnesota Vikings WR [Michael Floyd](=) has been suspended for the first four games of the 2017 season, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] With this suspension, there's no guarantee the Vikings will keep Floyd around. He was terrible last year splitting time in Arizona and New England. An extreme DUI last year got him bounced from the desert but the Patriots took a chance on the veteran receiver and he did nothing. [LAR - WR Mike Thomas suspended four games](=) Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Los Angeles Rams WR [Mike Thomas](=) has been suspended for the first four games of the 2017 season for violating the NFL's policy of performance enhancing drugs. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] With the addition of Cooper Kupp and Josh Reynolds in the 2017 NFL draft, Thomas may not make the final roster. A sixth-round pick out of Southern Miss in 2016, Thomas had only three catches for 37 yards in 15 games as a rookie. [PIT - Pittsburgh to ramp up Le'Veon Bell talks]() Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell is due to make $12.1 million in 2017 if he plays the season under the franchise tag, but the team hopes to 'press' negotiations over the weekend as the sides head toward the deadline to sign franchise players to long-term deals Monday, July 17. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The deadline is Monday, but things are trending towards a resolution. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Head coach Doug Pederson hopes to 'take a little bit off' Wentz's plate in 2017 and believes the addition of RB LeGarrette Blount to the running game will help in that respect. [CLE - RB Isaiah Crowell to reach 1,300 yards?](=) Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot Cleveland Browns RB [Isaiah Crowell](=) is capable of a 1,300-yard season in 2017, according to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, because of upgrades to the offensive line and an improved defense that should keep games closer. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We could see Crowell breaking 1,000 yards rushing in a season for the first time in his career. He almost did it last year, and the improvements up front on the O-Line should only help him perform better. Crowell is RB14 (3.06) in 12-team PPR leagues. [NYJ - TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins the starter?](=) Source: New York Post - Brian Costello New York Jets TE [Austin Seferian-Jenkins](=) 'looks like the clear starter' ahead TE Jordan Leggett and TE Eric Tomlinson because of his edge in talent and experience, according to Brian Costello of the New York Post. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Seferian-Jenkins has natural talent but he's never played up to his potential. He's with the Jets and their horrible quarterback situation so we don't expect him to set the statsheet ablaze in 2017. [BUF - RB LeSean McCoy excited for offense](=) Source: BuffaloBills.com - Chris Brown Buffalo Bills RB [LeSean McCoy](=) said he is excited about the zone running scheme offensive coordinator Rick Dennison is implementing this year. 'With this offense they give you different options whether it's inside or outside,' McCoy said. 'When you want to stretch it, you can stretch it just enough to get the DBs where you want them so you can cut inside.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Dennison is a Shanahan/Kubiak disciple and the zone-blocking system is a perfect fit for McCoy. The choice is to "bend, bang or bounce" as the offensive line moves laterally in front of the back. McCoy is an expert at knowing when/how to run with proper patience in that system. He's a top-5 fantasy back already, but we wouldn't be shocked to see him finish the year as the best RB in fantasy football. [OAK - Oakland inks RB John Crockett](=) Source: Bay Area News Group - Jimmy Durkin Free-agent RB [John Crockett](=) (Packers) signed an undisclosed deal with the Oakland Raiders on Friday, July 14. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Crockett was on Injured Reserve last year for the Packers but saw two games of action as an undrafted rookie from North Dakota State in 2015. He's an upright runner, with a slashing style. Crockett has some power and a little bit of burst but he's a longshot to make the final roster in Oakland. [NE - QB Jacoby Brissett considered a lock](=) Source: ESPNBoston.com - Mike Reiss New England Patriots QB [Jacoby Brissett](=) is considered a lock to make the team by beat writer Mike Reiss. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The future is unknown for backup Jimmy Garropolo. He's set to be a free agent after the season, and he's set to get a pretty lucrative contract to be a starter elsewhere. Brissett is big, athletic and has a strong arm. [ATL - QB Matt Ryan was dominant downfield](=) Source: Pro Football Focus Atlanta Falcons QB [Matt Ryan](=) threw 13 touchdowns against zero interceptions on passes of 20 yards or more for a 133.9 QB Rating last season, according to Pro Football Focus. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ryan is an aggressive downfield passer and when you've got Julio Jones at receiver you can have that boldness. Even though former OC Kyle Shanahan is now gone, we're expecting Ryan to pass for 30 touchdowns or more again this year. The new offense under OC Steve Sarkisian is still pretty much the same according to reports. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [MIA - WR Jarvis Landry fights for extra yardage](=) Source: Pro Football Focus Miami Dolphins WR [Jarvis Landry](=) has tallied 76 broken tackles over his first three seasons, according to Pro Football Focus. That includes 26 last season, which tied with Detroit Lions WR [Golden Tate](=) for second among NFL wideouts. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Landry ranked 3rd in the NFL for WRs in yards after the catch per reception (6.80) in 2016. A lot of that has to due with his ability to break tackles. Entering the final year of his contract, we'll see if Landry and the Dolphins are able to come to a new agreement to keep him around for the foreseeable future. [NYG - Odell Beckham strong after the catch](=) Source: Pro Football Focus New York Giants WR [Odell Beckham Jr](=). forced 29 missed tackles last season, according to Pro Football Focus, which led all NFL wide receivers. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Beckham is more than just a dynamic pass catcher. He's also incredibly dangerous with the ball in his hands. Fantasy owners know what they're getting in this superstar, and defenses are going to have to adjust as the Giants added WR Brandon Marshall to the roster this offseason. Beckham is a top-5 fantasy receiver and a mid first-round pick in any format. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [DAL - QB Dak Prescott excelled under pressure](=) Source: Pro Football Focus Dallas Cowboys QB [Dak Prescott](=) posted a 106.6 passer rating against the blitz in 2016, according to Pro Football Focus, which trailed only New Orleans Saints QB [Drew Brees](=) (107.0), Atlanta Falcons QB [Matt Ryan](=) (120.4) and New England Patriots QB [Tom Brady](=) (131.4). [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] What Prescott was able to do last year was simply amazing for a rookie. The Cowboys protect him well with that offensive line and rushing attack, but when asked to thrive under pressure Prescott can. He's easily a QB2 with QB1 upside in fantasy leagues. [NFL - QB Tony Romo committed to retirement](=) Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Charean Williams Retired QB [Tony Romo](=) said he was 'done' playing football during an interview on the NFL Network Tuesday, July 12. That was a modification of what he initially said in April when he stated that his odds of staying retired were 'about 99 percent.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Romo is getting some sweet TV money to be in the broadcast booth for CBS. He's not going to get hit anymore and has a job he could be in for the next 20 years. Even when injuries hit in training camp, we can't see Romo walking away from that. [DET - More touchdowns for TE Eric Ebron?]( Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett Detroit Lions TE [Eric Ebron](=) was third on the team in yards and receptions last year, and Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press believes the departure of free-agent WR [Anquan Boldin](=) (Lions) could help Ebron improve on his one touchdown from a year ago. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's not that bold to say he'll get more than one touchdown. How much more is the larger question. Ebron is the main man at tight end, but the team did add noted TD hog Mike Roberts (Toledo) in the 2017 NFL draft. We'll see how much the rookie cuts into the red zone looks for Ebron. Projecting four or five TDs for Ebron in 2017 sounds about right. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 19. [NE - D.J. Foster was effective catching the ball in spring practices, but Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com believes the offseason signings of RB [Mike Gillislee](=) and RB [Rex Burkhead](=) could make it tough for Foster to make the roster. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Any team in need of a receiving back could give Foster a look if/when released. [MIA - No offer for WR Jarvis Landry]( Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson Miami Dolphins WR [Jarvis Landry](=) has not been offered a contract extension, but Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald believes that could change in the coming weeks. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Landry is in the final year of his contract as a second-round pick in 2014. He's not a touchdown maker, but he can easily continue catching a ton of passes for the Dolphins passing attack.
