[NFL - Matt Ryan moving into the booth]( Source: Twitter Free-agent QB Matt Ryan (Colts) announced he will serve as an NFL analyst for CBS this season, but he also said he isn't retiring from football. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ryan is going to be 38-years old later this month, but he's still holding out hope that another team is going to be interested in his services. Never say never, but it looks like Ryan's playing days in the NFL are done. He was downright terrible in 2022, his lone season with the Colts, and the team let him go in mid-March earlier this year. Ryan is no longer the player he used to be, and teams have not shown any interest in the veteran on the open market. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [MIN - Jordan Addison impressing early]() Source: St. Paul Pioneer Press - Dane Mizutani Minnesota Vikings WR Jordan Addison 'looks the part,' head coach Kevon O'Connell said following Addison's performance at rookie minicamp Friday, May 12. 'You can tell he's a little bit ahead of a lot of the guys out on the field today,' O'Connell said. 'He's understanding exactly what that play means for what routes he has and how to go adjust once the picture changes when that ball is snapped.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Addison was an absolute beast with PITT in 2021, catching 100 passes from QB Kenny Pickett for 1,593 yards and a whopping 17 touchdowns. In 2022, Addison transferred to USC and was a favorite target for QB Caleb Williams. He's got clean routes, and he knows how to set up defenders with guile. Addison reminds some in the scouting community of WR Tyler Lockett (Seahawks), and he can work as an outside or inside threat. Physical corners can disrupt his play, but Addison is a slippery player who can take short passes and turn them into long gains. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [NYG - Saquon Barkley turned down Giants offer]( Source: NJ.com - Bob Brookover New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley rejected an offer from the team after the 2022 season that would've paid him up to $14 million per year, per sources on Saturday, May 13. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Deals get done at deadlines, and the Giants have until mid-July to get a deal done with the franchise-tagged running back. Giants GM Joe Schoen has expressed confidence that a new deal would get done. However, this type of report leaking shows that the two sides may be further off than Schoen wants them to be. If Barkley does not sign his tag, we could be looking at a training camp holdout. Stay tuned. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [ATL - Bijan Robinson expects to do a bit of everything](=) Source: ESPN.com Atlanta Falcons first-round draft choice RB Bijan Robinson is prepared for a heavy workload as a rookie and got a taste of what the team had in mind for him during rookie minicamp last weekend. According to Robinson, head coach Arthur Smith used him virtually 'everywhere.''He uses me everywhere, from receiver to running back. He lets me do my abilities and skill set the right way, whether it's catching the ball, running routes, obviously running the football, blocking and doing it all. ... I'm going to expect nothing less (than being coached hard), because (Smith) has a plan for me with his coaching style and making sure that I'm doing the right thing on the field and always pushing myself to new limits, new heights. I got to match that,' Robinson told ESPN.com.Music to the ears of all current and future Robinson managers. There is little doubt Smith is going to run his offense for Robinson this season. It wouldn't surprising if the No. 8 overall pick ends up surpassing 300 carries and 50 receptions as a rookie. That kind of workload - combined with Robinson's talent and the level of quality play the offensive line established in 2022 - should allow the Texas product to finish as a top-five back in fantasy this year barring injury issues. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Robinson can do whatever the Falcons ask him to do. He's like a young Saquon Barkley where he can thrive and excel as a runner or receiver for his team. Robinson was the best back in this class, and he's got the type of skill set where he never needs to come off the field. Robinson could be a workhorse for the Falcons, but they will likely still use second-year RB Tyler Allgeier in a backup role to give the rookie a breather. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [DET - Sam LaPorta stars at camp]() Source: The Athletic - Colton Pouncy Detroit Lions TE Sam LaPorta was the 'best player on the field' during rookie minicamp Saturday, May 13, according to Colton Pouncy of The Athletic, and Pouncy said LaPorta was used as an in-line tight end and flexed out as a receiver. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Fantasy GMs need to put a pin in this story. LaPorta, the Lions' second-round pick (Iowa) in the 2023 NFL draft, has the talent of a move tight end and he could have the opportunity for targets this season. He's fast, and LaPorta is dangerous after the catch. He can attack a zone defense as a receiver, and LaPorta is an effort blocker who can improve with better technique and pro coaching. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [TB - David Moore finds new home]() Source: The Athletic - Greg Auman Free-agent WR David Moore (Bears) signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sunday, May 14, following a veteran tryout at rookie minicamp. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Moore missed all of the 2022 season with a leg injury, and he hasn't caught a pass in the pros since 2020. Once a deep target for the Seahawks, Moore has recently bounced around to a few different teams. He's got speed and ball-tracking ability, so we imagine the Buccaneers want him to occasionally take the top off the defense. He's on the roster bubble even though he impressed enough to earn a contract after his rookie minicamp tryout. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [DEN - Ben DiNucci joining roster]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Free-agent QB Ben DiNucci (Cowboys) agreed to terms with the Denver Broncos Sunday, May 14. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] DiNucci was invited to rookie minicamp for the Broncos after playing in the XFL. In 10 games with the Seattle Sea Dragons, DiNucci led the XFL in passing with 2,671 yards (64.7 completion percentage). He had 20 touchdowns passing, three touchdowns rushing, and 13 interceptions on the season. A seventh-round pick of the Cowboys in 2020, DiNucci has talent as a passer and is working to impress as a reserve with the Broncos. They have Russell Wilson as their starter, and the Broncos added Jarrett Stidham in free agency to be the primary backup. [DEN - Denver signs Jacques Patrick](=) Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis Free-agent RB Jacques Patrick (49ers) is signing with the Denver Broncos Sunday, May 14. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Undrafted out of Florida State in 2019, Patrick has bounced around to several different NFL teams and he's played in the XFL twice. Patrick has plenty of size, and he's a two-down thumper who lives between the tackles. For the San Antonio Brahmas (XFL) this season, Patrick rushed 115 times for 443 yards and five rushing touchdowns. He also had 30 receptions for 238 yards in 10 games for the Brahmas. Nobody should be shocked when the Broncos sign another power back. He'll compete for a roster spot behind fellow power RBs Javonte Williams and Samaje Perine. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [NYG - Jalin Hyatt puts pen to paper]( Source: Giants.com - Michael Eisen New York Giants third-round draft choice WR Jalin Hyatt (Tennessee) signed a four-year contract Monday, May 15. Financial terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hyatt had first-round talent, so the Giants may have gotten a helluva value by adding him in the third round. He's got track speed which he brings to the football field, but Hyatt is also a natural receiver. In 2022, Hyatt led the FBS in QB rating when targeted, showing how reliable he can be. We'll see how Hyatt establishes himself behind guys like Darius Slayton and Isaiah Hodgins on the depth chart. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [ATL - Slade Bolden landing with Falcons]() Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero Free-agent WR Slade Bolden (Ravens) is signing an undisclosed contract with the Atlanta Falcons after a successful rookie minicamp tryout, per source on Sunday, May 14. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Undrafted out of Alabama in 2022, Bolden signed with the Ravens but was released in late October last year. A converted high school quarterback, Bolden is a slot option who knows how to find the soft spot in a zone. He's likely angling for a spot on the Falcons' practice squad. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [100% Deposit Match Up To $100 At Underdog Fantasy]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [JAX - Jacob Harris signing with Jaguars]( Source: Jacksonville.com - Demetrius Harvey Free-agent WR Jacob Harris (Rams) signed an undisclosed deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars Monday, May 15. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A fourth-round pick of the Rams in the 2021 NFL draft, Harris is a former tight end who plays wide receiver but might go back to tight end. His pro position has been a bit of a mystery, and injuries have kept him from playing up to his potential. Harris has great size and speed, so he can be a weapon for an offense - if he can stay healthy. His position versatility and raw physical tools put him on track for a practice squad spot at least. In crazy deep dynasty formats, we'll still keep track of Harris. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [TEN - Tyjae Spears deflects ACL questions]() Source: TennesseeTitans.com Tennessee Titans third-round draft choice RB Tyjae Spears repeatedly answered 'I'm healthy' when asked about the health of his knee and if he had an anterior cruciate ligament in his twice-operated knee during media availability at rookie minicamp on Saturday, May 13. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Spears has incredible ability as a runner and receiver out of the backfield. His game is about speed and quickness, plus Spears has a nuance when it comes to making defenders miss in the open field. Spears could have been drafted higher, but there were questions about his knee...and that's why he gets a barrage of questions about it after rookie minicamp. We see Spears as a running back of the future for the Titans behind Derrick Henry. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [NO - James Washington headed to the Big Easy](=) Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler Free-agent WR James Washington (Cowboys) agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the New Orleans Saints on Monday, May 15. Financial terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Washington has flashed at times during his pro career, but this 2019 season (44 catches, 735 yards, three touchdowns) is far in the past. Last year with the Cowboys, Washington played in one game and was targeted once (the pass was not complete). The Saints have second-year WR Chris Olave as their top target, behind that guys like Washington will compete to establish a pecking order. He's looking for a spot as likely a WR4/WR5 for the Saints.
