[SF - Brock Purdy to start throwing in June](=) Source: KNBR.com San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy (elbow) is expected to 'start lobbing a football' around the 12-week mark of his recovery, which will be in June, general manager John Lynch said on Thursday, May 4. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Back in April, Purdy told reporters he avoided Tommy John surgery. There's optimism that he will be ready for more throwing when training camp gets here. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [CHI - Khalil Herbert is RB1 for now](=) Source: Chicago Tribune - Colleen Kane Chicago Bears RB Khalil Herbert will start the offseason at the top of the depth chart but there will be a competition throughout the offseason, Bears assistant coach David Walker said on Saturday, May 6. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Herbert is the incumbent, but the Bears have other backs who can work their way into the rotation. D'Onta Foreman is a power back who can win on early downs, and we love rookie RB Roschon Johnson as a sleeper prospect in dynasty formats. We'll get a better idea of this potential RBBC in training camp. Oh yeah, QB Justin Fields should eat up rushing yards once again in 2023. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [TEN - Chigoziem Okonkwo ready to step up]( Source: SI.com - Tyler Rowland Tennessee Titans TE Chigoziem Okonkwo said he 'definitely' sees himself leading the tight end room in 2023. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We could see that as well. Okonkwo is built to be a threat as a starting tight end. He can run well after the catch, and he's got a great focus on underneath routes. We'll see how the Titans' QB room sorts out in training camp. However, it doesn't matter if Ryan Tannehill or Will Levis is tossing the rock - Okonkwo can be a favorite target. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [BAL - Baltimore adds two UDFAs]() Source: BaltimoreRavens.com - Clifton Brown Undrafted free-agent WR Sean X. Ryan (Rutgers) and RB Owen Wright (Monmouth) signed contracts with the Baltimore Ravens Friday, May 5. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Wright is a player with an incredible nose for the end zone. His size and ability to be a regular in the end zone make him a player to watch in crazy deep dynasty formats. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [NYJ - Three UDFAs sign with Jets]( Source: NewYorkJets.com - Ethan Greenberg and Jack Bell Undrafted free-agent RB Travis Dye (Southern California), WR Xavier Gipson (Stephen F. Austin) and TE E.J. Jenkins (Georgia Tech) signed contracts with the New York Jets Friday, May 5. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Gipson is the type of player who could make an impact in the pros. He's a smaller receiver, but he's got take-it-to-the-house speed, and he showed a tremendous nose for the end zone in college. We'll keep an eye on him in crazy deep dynasty formats. Dye spent four seasons at Oregon before transferring to USC. He's a compact runner with an efficient style. He's not a tackle-breaker, and he doesn't have game-breaking speed, but Dye wastes little motion with the ball in his hands. --------------------------------------------------------------- FOOTBALLGUYS PICKS DOMINATE YOUR FRIENDS WITH A FOOTBALLGUYS PREMIUM SUBSCRIPTION - Consistently winning at Fantasy Football is hard. [NYJ - Zack Kuntz signs rookie deal]( Source: NewYorkJets.com - Eric Allen New York Jets seventh-round draft choice TE Zack Kuntz signed a four-year contract with the Jets Friday, May 5. Financial terms were not disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Kuntz is buried on the depth chart, but the rookie does have talent and tremendous upside. He's got length and speed, but he needs to make sure that timed speed shows up better on the field. Kuntz flies down the field and he can play 'above the rim' like a basketball player. He's essentially a super-sized wide receiver. With less than 20 starts in his college career, Kuntz projects as a player who could be a much better pro. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [NYG - New York signs three draft picks](=) Source: Giants.com New York Giants fifth-round draft choice RB Eric Gray, sixth-round draft choice CB Tre Hawkins III and seventh-round draft choice S Gervarrius Owens signed four-year contracts with the Giants Friday, May 5. Financial terms were not disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Gray is competing for the no.3 job in the backfield behind starting RB Saquon Barkley and primary backup Matt Breida. He's a smooth athlete who doesn't need tom come off the field because he can catch the ball effectively as well. Gray is not a pile-pusher, but he's got the profile of a nice reserve back in the pros. That role and his skill could have fantasy relevance for GMs in deep dynasty formats. --------------------------------------------------------------- [100% Deposit Match Up To $100 At Underdog Fantasy]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [CAR - Carolina giving Jordan Thomas a look]() Source: KPRC.com - Aaron Wilson Free-agent TE Jordan M. Thomas (XFL) received an invitation Friday, May 5, to participate in Carolina Panthers' rookie minicamp. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Thomas was a sixth-round pick of the Texans in the 2018 NFL draft. He's huge and has a large wingspan to work well in the red zone. Thomas has bounced around to a bunch of different teams and multiple leagues. Now, he gets another shot in the NFL so we'll see if this time he sticks. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [GB - Two wrap up rookie deals with Green Bay](=) Source: Packers.com Green Bay Packers fifth-round draft choice WR Dontayvion Wicks (Virginia) and seventh-round draft choice RB Lew Nichols III (Central Michigan) signed four-year contracts Friday, May 5. Financial terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Wicks can fly down the field, and he can make quick cuts to create separation. Concentration has been a problem for him at times, and he'll have to clean that up to play up to his potential in the pros. Nichols has great size, and he can run with authority between the tackles. His limited to being a two-down option in the pros as he struggles to catch the ball cleanly.
