With his rushing ability and the great receiving weapons around him, Watson should be a Qb2 with upside for fantasy owners. [NYJ - RB Matt Forte to be workhorse?]( Source: NJ Advance Media - Connor Hughes New York Jets RB [Matt Forte](=) will be the offensive workhorse this season, in the opinion of NJ Advance Media's Connor Hughes. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Make sure to note this is just in the opinion of the writer, Connor Hughes. Who like the rest of us, is trying to figure out who'll do what for the Jets this year. It's also a conflicting report as to what most expected with the rebuilding Jets in 2017. Bilal Powell was thought to be the primary back with Forte playing the complementary role. Forte has a current ADP of RB43 (9.08) while Powell is at RB27 (6.03) in 12-team PPR leagues. [DAL - RB Ezekiel Elliott to catch more passes?]() Source: The Dallas Morning News - Jon Machota Dallas Cowboys RB [Ezekiel Elliott](=) will 'absolutely' be used more in the passing game this season, according to running backs coach Gary Brown. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This report is music to the ears of Elliott's fantasy owners. Elliott was second in rushing/receiving yards last year with 1,994 yards -- but most of it was done on the ground (1,631 yards). Going over 2,000 combined yards seems like a given, and getting used more as a receiver could make him the top fantasy player to own in 2017. His 11.34 yards per catch ranked 2nd in the NFL last year (1st was Spencer Ware, 13.55) for running backs. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [TEN - WR Tajae Sharpe the odd man out?]( Source: USA TODAY NETWORK-Tennessee - Jason Wolf Tennessee Titans WR [Tajae Sharpe](=) (foot) is going to have a 'hard time' being in shape for the start of training camp because of his foot injury, according to head coach Mike Mularkey, but Mularkey said Sharpe will have a chance to compete for a role in the offense. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Things change pretty quickly around here. Sharpe started last year as a rookie and hauled in 41 passes for the Titans. This year, Sharpe has a tenuous hold on his roster spot. He's not going to be a fantasy factor behind Corey Davis, Rishard Matthews, Eric Decker and Taywan Taylor. [DET - TE Eric Ebron expecting big things]( Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett Detroit Lions TE [Eric Ebron](=) said he believes the addition of TE [Darren Fells](=) will allow him to play to his strengths. 'I think it's going to play a significant role for me to allow me to do the things that I'm best at,' Ebron said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ebron will be the primary receiving threat for the Lions at the tight end position. Fuller is a blocker and won't contribute much as a receiver. In the fourth round of the 2017 NFL draft, the Lions selected another big-bodied tight end in Mike Roberts. In college at Toledo he was a noted touchdown hog, but rookie tight ends usually struggle their first season or two. Ebron should get over 100 targets this year and has the upside to be a top-10 fantasy tight end in 2017. He's going off the board at TE14 (12.08) right now in 12-team PPR leagues. [PIT - WR Sammie Coates healing up](=) Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler Pittsburgh Steelers WR [Sammie Coates](=) (groin) said he has spent the last month making sure his 'body is back to normal' following offseason groin surgery. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Coates is going to compete with rookie JuJu Smith-Schuster for the no3 wide receiver position in Pittsburgh behind Antonio Brown and Martavis Bryant. We like the rookie (Smith-Schuster) more in this battle. Coates is fast and can get downfield in the blink of an eye, but he's had problems with drops since he started catching (or dropping) footballs and he's been banged up. Dynasty owners should be able to score him on the cheap if you believe he'll ever play up to his potential. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [PHI - WR Nelson Agholor making an impact]() Source: CSNPhilly.com - Dave Zangaro Philadelphia Eagles WR [Nelson Agholor](=) has been a star during spring practices, according to receivers coach Mike Groh. 'He had a really productive spring,' Groh said. 'He attacked the spring. He's shown up and made an impact at virtually every practice. Really excited about where he's at right now.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] With Jordan Matthews (knee) banged up in minicamp it was Agholor starting in the slot for the Eagles. There has been a steady drumbeat about Agholor looking better this offseason, and those reports have certainly got our attention from a dynasty standpoint. [PIT - Xavier Grimble could 'make a run' at starting job](=) Source: Bob Labriola - Steelers.com Bob Labriola, of Steelers.com, believes Pittsburgh Steelers tight end [Xavier Grimble](=) could 'make a run' at the starting job in training camp this year. While Grimble has flashed the ability to be special, Labriola cautions that the young tight end must get more consistent if he's going to beat out [Jesse James](=) for the top spot on the depth chart. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] With all the weapons in Pittsburgh, we don't expect big production from the tight end position. Both players have intriguing upside but unless looking to take a flier on someone, this isn't a team we'd go to for a fantasy tight end. [PIT - RB Knile Davis working on special teams]() Source: Pittsburgh Tribune-Review - Chris Adamski Pittsburgh Steelers RB [Knile Davis](=) worked on most of the special teams units during offseason workouts and was told he will compete for the kick returner job. He also received a solid amount of snaps at running back during the workouts since RB Le'Veon Bell was not present and RB James Conner (hamstring) was dealing with an injury. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Davis is competing to be the third running back in Pittsburgh. [NYJ - WR Frankie Hammond may be top punt returner]() Source: NJ Advance Media - Connor Hughes New York Jets WR [Frankie Hammond](=) Jr. appears to be the leading candidate for the punt returner job at this point, but RB Elijah McGuire could win the job if he performs well during training camp. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We like the upside of McGuire in this situation. This is a battle that will play itself out in training camp. [NO - Terron Armstead undergoes surgery]( Source: The Times-Picayune - Herbie Teope New Orleans Saints OT Terron Armstead (shoulder) underwent surgery Monday, June 19, to repair the torn labrum in his shoulder and is expected to do most of his rehab in New Orleans, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Saints have a few different options while Amsterdam is out. [BAL - BAL unlikely looking at WR Anquan Boldin](=) Source: The Baltimore Sun - Jeff Zrebiec Free-agent WR [Anquan Boldin](=) (Lions) probably is not an option for the Baltimore Ravens at this point because the team is content with the receivers they have on the roster, in the opinion of the Baltimore Sun's Jeff Zrebiec. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's fun to think about Boldin playing in Baltimore again but the reality is he's unlikely to go there. [DEN - Chad Kelly not a roster lock?]( Source: The Denver Post - Cameron Wolfe Denver Broncos seventh-round QB Chad Kelly is not guaranteed a spot on the 53-man roster, according to the Denver Post's Cameron Wolfe, who believes Kelly may be placed on the Reserved/Injured list in 2017 in order to let him completely recover from wrist and knee surgeries. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Kelly is not in the mix for the Broncos this year. Trevor siemian and Paxton Lynch will compete for the starting job in training camp. [WAS - WR Jamison Crowder 'can play anywhere']( Source: The Washington Post - Mark Bullock Washington Redskins WR [Jamison Crowder](=) received a ton of praise from head coach Jay Gruden in a recent interview with the Washington Post. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The one constant at the WR position for Washington this year is Crowder. With DeSean Jackson (Buccaneers) and Pierre Garcon (49ers) gone in free agency, Washington will have a different look when it comes to their pass catchers. Terrelle Pryor could be the primary target for QB Kirk Cousins and of course TE Jordan Reed will have a significant role. Crowder is there to catch 70 or more catches this year, and there's a chance he could get 90-ish receptions in 2017 depending on how things shake out around him. [NYJ - Elijah McGuire will have a role]( Source: NJ Advance Media - Connor Hughes New York Jets RB Elijah McGuire will have a role with the team this season, according to running backs coach Stump Mitchell. 'I like everything (about him),' Mitchell said. 'He's got great hands. As a third-down back or simply a back, he can catch the ball extremely well. He has good vision, and a good ability to make cuts. I like him. He's a student of the game and good in the classroom.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] McGuire can be a standout player in a certain role. At 5'10" 214 pounds, McGuire has a good size/speed combination. He's not a forceful runner between the tackles but can be especially dangerous in space. McGuire can be lined up in the slot or catch passes easily as a relief-valve receiver out of the backfield. [CIN - Andre Smith moving to guard]( Source: Bengals.com - Geoff Hobson Cincinnati Bengals OT Andre Smith is moving from right tackle to offensive guard this season. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Bengals have a new-look offensive line after losing OT Andrew Whitworth (Rams) and OG Kevin Zeitler (Browns) in free agency. Smith is playing inside at guard and the Bengals will have Cedric Ogbuehi and Jake Fisher outside at tackle. A top-10 pick in 2009, Smith is not the player he used to be but gives the Bengals valuable insurance at the tackle position. [HOU - WR Braxton Miller making strides]( Source: Houston Chronicle - John McClain Houston Texans WR [Braxton Miller](=) was praised for his progress in OTAs by assistant coach [Wes Welker](=). [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Miller was a converted quarterback from Ohio State who barely started learning the wide receiver position in college. He's a phenomenal athlete and could be a fine slot receiver for the Texans. Their passing game is a bit of a question mark with rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson as the likely starter. That limits Miller's fantasy impact (especially behind DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller), and we'd project the second-year pro for around 25 catches in 2017. [BAL - More 3-WR sets for Baltimore in 2017?](=) Source: Jeff Zrebeic - Baltimore Sun Jeff Zrebeic, from the Baltimore Sun, believes the Baltimore Ravens are going to use more three-wide receiver sets in 2017. They used such formations on 58 percent of the offensive snaps in 2016, a mark that should increase this season. [Joe Flacco](=) ranked 11th in the NFL with 429 passing attempts with three or more wide receivers on the field last year. New York Giants quarterback [Eli Manning](=) led the league with 580 passing attempts in such personnel packages. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This would be good news for Flacco's numbers, but could water down the production for the receivers. Mind you, this rhetoric could just be stemming from the fact that the Ravens don't really know how their receivers will shake out. Jeremy Maclin and Mike Wallace could both do really well, and Breshad Perriman has intriguing speed on the outside if healthy. We need to watch this very closely throughout the summer and preseason. We think Wallace and Maclin have a lot of value but Perriman could be good enough to throw all three receivers into inconsistent chaos. [IND - Chester Rogers challenging for serious playing time]( Source: Kevin Bowen - Colts.com Kevin Bowen, of Colts.com, reports Indianapolis Colts WR [Chester Rogers](=) is challenging for serious playing time in 2017. According to the report, Rogers has a 'real shot' at winning the no3 job at wide receiver behind [T.Y. Hilton](=) and [Donte Moncrief](=). [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's definitely way too early to start talking about this, and third wide receiver isn't particularly a lucrative and high-producing fantasy option. The Colts have TE Jack Doyle as the likely third option in the passing game, limiting the value of Rogers, Kamar Aiken or Philip Dorsett. We'll watch this, but we're not terribly excited. Yet.
