[CAR - Carolina unlikely to pursue high-dollar QB](#8) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [KC - WR Kadarius Toney says he's playing](=) Source: USA TODAY - Tyler Dragon Kansas City Chiefs WR [Kadarius Toney](=) (ankle) said he's definitely playing in the Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Toney is a playmaker when he's healthy, and the Chiefs are using him well as a part-time weapon on offense. He's a little banged up, but Toney is going to get out there for the big game. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [DAL - Franchise tag in RB Tony Pollard's future?](=) Source: Pro Football Network - Tony Pauline Dallas Cowboys RB [Tony Pollard](=) is expected to receive the franchise tag this offseason, according to Tony Pauline of Pro Football Network. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This buzz has been out there for some time. In fact, it was before Pollard's injury in the Divisional Round that reports first surfaced about him getting the tag. That would give the two sides until mid-July to work out a long-term deal. Pollard needs a few months to recover from leg and ankle injuries suffered in the postseason. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [DAL - RB Ezekiel Elliott to take big pay cut to stay?](=) Source: Pro Football Network - Tony Pauline Dallas Cowboys RB [Ezekiel Elliott](=), who is scheduled to make $16.7 million in 2023, is expected to accept a 'large pay cut' to remain with the team, according to sources via Tony Pauline of Pro Football Network. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] There's $11.8 million remaining in dead money on Elliott's contract, and he's on the books through 2026. It seems like Elliott will have to accept a pay cut if he wants to continue with the team. The Cowboys also have an interest in keeping free agent Tony Pollard in 2023. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [NYG - QB Daniel Jones to command around $35 million/season?]() Source: SNY.tv - Connor Hughes New York Giants QB [Daniel Jones](=) is expected to have discussions about a long-term contract with the team, and SNY's Connor Hughes reports a 'fair' average expected annual value for [Daniel Jones](=) is $35-37 million per season. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jones is in line for a new contract as he's set to be a free agent this offseason. The Giants have the franchise tag available, but some reports have indicated that would be a last-ditch effort. Instead, we could see a "fair" price of $35MM per year instead of the $40MM annually other reporters have speculated Jones is looking for. [SF - Steve Wilks lands DC job with San Francisco]() Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero Former Carolina Panthers interim head coach Steve Wilks is expected to be named as the new defensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers, according to sources. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's a great landing spot for Wilks, and it's a great hire for the 49ers. Wilks did an excellent job as the interim head coach of the Panthers, and he may get another opportunity to be a head coach again in the next cycle. He takes over a tremendous 49ers defense, and Wilks will have them continue to be one of the league's best. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [TEN - Tim Kelly lands Tennessee OC job]( Source: TennesseeTitans.com Tennessee Titans passing game coordinator Tim Kelly was named as the team's new offensive coordinator Tuesday, Feb. 7. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Kelly joined the Titans last year after spending several seasons with the Houston Texans. He'll be tasked with crafting an offense as the Titans get ready for changes coming to that side of the ball. They're built around RB Derrick Henry, but QB Ryan Tannehill may only be their starter for one more year before they begin looking for an upgrade. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [DEN - Denver reaches out to New Orleans QB Coach Ronald Curry]( Source: The Times-Picayune - Jeff Duncan New Orleans Saints quarterbacks coach Ronald Curry is expected to interview for the Denver Broncos' offensive coordinator vacancy soon, according to sources. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Curry is considered a fast riser in the coaching world. A former player (seventh-round pick in the 2002 NFL draft), Curry has been coaching since 2014. He's been with the Saints since 2016, and has previous working experience with new Broncos' head coach Sean Payton. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [CAR - Carolina unlikely to pursue high-dollar QB](=) Source: ESPN.com - David Newton Las Vegas Raiders QB [Derek Carr](=) is among the high-priced veteran quarterbacks that are unlikely to be traded to the Carolina Panthers, according to ESPN.com's David Newton. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Panthers have a new head coach in Frank Reich, and he should get the team on the right track. However, the Panthers don't have a quarterback. If they're not going with a high-priced veteran quarterback, then the Panthers will pursue a younger passer in the draft. They have the no.9 overall pick in the 2023 draft, and by that time three QBs (Bryce Young, CJ Stroud, Will Levis) could already be off the board.
