[LVR - QB Derek Carr permitted to contact other clubs]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter The Las Vegas Raiders have granted QB [Derek Carr](=) permission to speak with NFL teams that have already agreed to compensation that the Raiders are looking for in a potential trade for the quarterback, according to multiple sources. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] That means teams have to agree with the Raiders on compensation before Carr can talk to them. However, it doesn't seem like any team has been willing to meet that compensation. We are trending toward Carr being released in the near future. This past week at the Pro Bowl events in Las Vegas, Carr told reporters he would not extend the Feb. 15 deadline for the $40.4 million injury guarantee clause in his contract to kick in. [CAR - Interviewing Evero for DC]() Source: Tom Pelissero - NFL Network Tom Pelissero, from the NFL Network, reports the Carolina Panthers are conducting an interview with Broncos DC Ejiro Evero for their defensive coordinator position. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Evero has quite a bit of interest across the league, and he's on the track to one day be a head coach in the NFL. He did an interview for the Panthers' head coaching position, which ended up going to HC Frank Reich, but Evero might come on board now in a lateral move from Denver. New Broncos HC Sean Payton is already setting up interviews for new DCs if the position comes open (which seems quite likely). [MIA - Not Interested in Keeping TE Gesicki?]( Source: Daniel Oyefusi - Miami Herald Daniel Oyefusi, from the Miami Herald, doesn't expect the Miami Dolphins to re-sign free agent TE [Mike Gesicki](=). [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Gesicki just is not a fit for what HC Mike McDaniel wants to do at the position. He was playing on the franchise tag last year, and there were rumblings that Gesicki could get traded before the deadline. That didn't come to fruition, and now he's set to find a new home in free agency. [DAL - Dallas hires Brian Schottenheimer as OC]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Dallas Cowboys coaching analyst Brian Schottenheimer was hired as the team's next offensive coordinator on Saturday, Feb. 4. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Schottenheimer will use a run-heavy offense with the Cowboys. He was hired last spring to work with the Cowboys as a consultant and someone who was charged with keeping up with the trends in the NFL. Now, Schottenheimer gets to run the whole show which means running the ball and play-action passing for QB Dak Prescott and company. [MIA - OLB Bradley Chubb making progress from hand injury]( Source: NFL.com - Grant Gordon Miami Dolphins LB Bradley Chubb (hand) said he should be ready for the 2023 campaign after breaking his hand during the 2022 season. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Dolphins gave up a first-round pick to the Broncos (who then traded that to the Saints for HC Sean Payton) for Chubb. He was injured before he was able to really make a big impact on his new team. Now, Chubb will play under Vic Fangio (Miami's newly hired DC) again and should be able to flourish if healthy. He made an appearance at a community event Friday, Feb. 3, and is able to move his hand around after having the cast removed recently.
