[SF - RB Christian McCaffrey sitting Wednesday](=) Source: The Athletic - Matt Barrows San Francisco 49ers RB [Christian McCaffrey](=) (calf) will not practice on Wednesday, Jan. 25, but is expected to play this week, head coach Kyle Shanahan said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] No surprise here. McCaffrey is going to get some rest before the NFC Championship Game. We imagine he'll get at least a limited practice later in the week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [SF - WR Deebo Samuel not practicing Wednesday](=) Source: The Athletic - Matt Barrows San Francisco 49ers WR [Deebo Samuel](=) (ankle) will not practice on Wednesday, Jan. 25, but is expected to play this week, head coach Kyle Shanahan said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Samuel did have to miss some time earlier this year due to ankle problems. The 49ers are likely giving him some rest in order for him to be as ready as possible for Sunday's matchup against the Eagles in the NFC Championship. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [SF - QB Jimmy Garoppolo not practicing Wednesday](=) Source: MMQB - Albert Breer San Francisco 49ers QB [Jimmy Garoppolo](=) (foot) will not practice on Wednesday, Jan. 25, and is not expected to return this week after getting X-rays on his foot on Tuesday, head coach Kyle Shanahan said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Garoppolo may be able to return to the practice field if the 49ers make the Super Bowl. When he does return, if the 49ers advance, Garoppolo will be an interesting option with Brock Purdy. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [PHI - QB Jalen Hurts still not 100 percent]() Source: NFL Network - Andrew Siciliano Philadelphia Eagles QB [Jalen Hurts](=) (shoulder) said he still isn't 100 percent ahead of the NFC Championship Game against the San Francisco 49ers. 'I've felt better. But, it don't really matter. Got to get it done,' Hurts said on Wednesday Jan. 25. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Here's a news flash; Hurts won't be 100 percent healthy if the Eagles make the Super Bowl. He's been battling through this shoulder injury in the postseason, and he'll continue to do so against the 49ers on Sunday in the NFC Championship Game. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [KC - QB Patrick Mahomes to practice Wednesday](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Kansas City Chiefs QB [Patrick Mahomes](=) (ankle) will practice on Wednesday, Jan. 25, but might be limited, head coach Andy Reid said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Chiefs should be careful here. Mahomes has a high-ankle sprain, and many times that injury will knock a player out for a month. The Chiefs' superstar QB went "Willis Reed" last week and toughed it out against the Jaguars in the Divisional Round. He'll play against the Bengals on Sunday but is not 100 percent. [SF - RB Elijah Mitchell a DNP Wednesday](=) Source: The Athletic - Matt Barrows San Francisco 49ers RB [Elijah Mitchell](=) (groin) will not practice on Wednesday, Jan. 25, but is expected to play this week, head coach Kyle Shanahan said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The 49ers are taking it easy on Mitchell as he's a bit banged up before the NFC Championship Game. We could see him limited in practice later in the week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [CAR - QB Kellen Moore still meeting with CAR](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is still meeting with the Carolina Panthers Wednesday, Jan. 25. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Moore seems to be on his way out of Dallas. He's been getting head coaching interest for a couple of years now, and this year might be the time he gets that opportunity. We think former Colts HC Frank Reich is the frontrunner with the Panthers, but Moore will get a chance to prove himself worthy of the job. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [CAR - Frank Reich having another CAR interview]() Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero Former Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich is interviewing for the second time with the Carolina Panthers Wednesday, Jan. 25, about their head coaching vacancy. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It seems like Reich is the favorite to land this job. The Panthers need a coach who can bring stability to the table, and that's Reich's middle name. We'll see what kind of quarterback they get for Reich to work with because it had to be maddening to try and win with QB Carson Wentz and QB Matt Ryan with the Colts. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [KC - RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire has chance to return]( Source: ChiefsWire - Charles Goldman Kansas City Chiefs RB [Clyde Edwards-Helaire](=) (ankle) could be activated from injured reserve this week, head coach Andy Reid said on Wednesday, Jan. 25. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Edwards-Helaire has been close to a return, so watch his practice status later in the week. Upon his return, Edwards-Helaire could cut into the snaps for RB Jerick McKinnon. Rookie Isiah Pacheco is the team's starter and was atop the depth chart for a few weeks before Edwards-Helaire went down with this ankle injury.
