Staley has disappointed as the Chargers' head coach, and he has missed out on maximizing the window of QB Justin Herbert's rookie contract. We imagine Staley will get his team in the playoffs next year, and he's likely to continue disappointing...and then perhaps the Chargers will get rid of him. He's headed into the final year of his rookie contract in 2023, with the fifth-year option in place for 2024 (which should be executed this offseason). Jefferson is going to be the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL someday, and it's up to the Vikings to decide when they want to give him that huge payday.
