[NO - WR Willie Snead hopeful for deal before season](#18) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [KC - TE Travis Kelce should be ready for camp]( Source: Chiefs Digest - Matt Derrick Kansas City Chiefs TE [Travis Kelce](=) (shoulder) has a 'pretty good chance' of being ready for training camp, according to head coach Andy Reid. Kelce is recovering from offseason shoulder surgery and it was originally believed that he would not be healthy enough for training camp. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This is a great sign. Kelce will continue to be the main force in the offense and we expect him to be one of the top tight ends in fantasy this season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [NO - RB Mark Ingram wants to be more productive even with Peterson around]( Source: Josh Katzenstein - NOLA.com Josh Katzenstein of NOLA.com reports Saints RB [Mark Ingram](=) wants to be even better than he was during his career-best performance in 2016. Even with [Adrian Peterson](=) in the mix, Ingram believes he can improve. "I know my last three years I've had the best three years of my career. I've only been getting better and better, so I feel like any time that I can touch the ball -- carry it, catch it -- I'll be productive and I'm going to keep improving." [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] How Peterson is in the mix will be what tells the tale and so far we just have no idea how this will play out. We can't imagine Peterson steals an overabundance of Ingram's carries, but it will have an impact. Currently going as the No. 18 running back off the board, and with an overall ADP of 49, it seems like there are some concerns among Fantasy GMs as well. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [HOU - Bill O'Brien to be more 'hands on' in 2017](=) Source: John McClain - Houston Chronicle John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports that Texans head coach Bill O'Brien wants to be more 'hands on' in 2017. "I think one of the changes that needed to be made this year was for me to be more hands-on," O'Brien said Wednesday. "That's really what I love to do -- coach the players and be around the players. I love coaching these players." [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] O'Brien has to be starting to feel the heat given the failures of the offense during his tenure. We think he can improve its output but that will come down to the play of rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson. If he implodes, he will take O'Brien with him. Honestly, anything less than superb play over the next two years might not help O'Brien if the Texans don't get more than a cup of coffee in the playoffs. One and done with this defense is unacceptable. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [MIN - RB Latavius Murray expected at camp]() Source: St. Paul Pioneer Press - Chris Tomasson Minnesota Vikings RB [Latavius Murray](=) (ankle) is expected to be ready for the start of training camp, according to head coach Mike Zimmer. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We like Murray but we still don't love this offensive line and really, that's what could really hurt him. Murray ran behind an underrated line last season in Oakland. Until we see this group is really better, his ADP of 104 overall and 38 running back off the board seem about right. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [BAL - WR Jeremy Maclin will play in the slot]( Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley Baltimore Ravens WR [Jeremy Maclin](=) is expected to assume the slot receiver position with WRs [Mike Wallace](=) and [Breshad Perriman](=) lining up on the outside. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We expected this would be the outcome, and we believe it a good fit with Wallace and Perriman pulling enough coverage off him to give him some open space. We're not sold that he will return to his 1,329 yard, 10 touchdown production during the last year he was in Philly, but the 1,000 yard season when he first arrived in Kansas City seems possible. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [LAR - WR Tavon Austin continues steady progress from wrist surgery](=) Source: Gary Klein - Los Angeles Times Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times reports Rams WR [Tavon Austin](=) has been steadily progressing as he recovers from wrist surgery. Austin is excited about his role in the offense under new head coach Sean McVay. "I just want the ball in my hand any type of way," Austin said. "I don't care if you give it to me vertically, if I get jet sweeps or, whatever, screens or options. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Austin lost his big play ability in 2016, though the quarterback situation certainly didn't help. An offseason of work with Jared Goff would have been great but there is time in training camp. Even if he gets back towards where he was in 2015, his upside has been rather limited though and it could be some time before he has a large and consistent impact in fantasy. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [DAL - QB Dak Prescott to avoid Sophomore slump?]() Source: Jori Epstein - Dallas Morning News Jori Epstein of the Dallas Morning News reports that Cowboys WR [Cole Beasley](=) doesn't believe second-year QB [Dak Prescott](=) will suffer a sophomore slump in 2017. "He's one of the hardest-working guys I've seen at the quarterback position in a long time in a lot of years playing," Beasley said. "His approach and his mindset will control that. ... He's the type of guy who's going to grind no matter and continue to get better no matter how good he gets." [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] His situation is still about as good as you can ask for, with an elite line, a tremendous second year running back and a great receiving corps. We think he may see a bit of a slump, but certainly not a large one, and he's projecting an ADP of 76 overall and the tenth quarterback taken off the board. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [DAL - RB Ezekiel Elliott learns off-field lesson, stays home more](=) Source: Clarence Hill Jr. - Star-Telegram According to Clarence Hill Jr. of the Star-Telegram, Dallas Cowboys RB [Ezekiel Elliott](=) is staying at home more now after an off-field incident in March drew scrutiny around the country. Elliott said it's a painful and needed lesson to learn, considering how fleeting an NFL career can be if you continue to make mistakes. "I think it's just life," said Elliott, who was wearing a Stetson hat when he met with the media Wednesday. "You learn from your mistakes, and if you don't, it can be brutal. So it's just part of life." [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's a good thing to learn, especially given the outcome hasn't been as bad as it could have been. Unfortunately in today's camera-phone/24-7 news world, privacy for athletes isn't easy to come by and mistakes are amplified. Staying home a little more is a good thing, and will keep him from being distracted or a distraction himself. Elliott is going as one of the top two or three players in early drafts, so if you are paying the price for him, you definitely want him focused. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [JAX - QB Blake Bortles tired of 'below average' play](=) Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Charean Williams Jacksonville Jaguars QB [Blake Bortles](=) said that the team is 'sick and tired of being below average' and 'not being successful when we feel as though we have the ability to be a good team.' He added: 'We haven't been. It's time to make a change. It's not going to happen overnight. You have to go do something about it.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We feel you, Blake. We feel you. Bortles is kind of getting to the end of his chances and we are hoping a new coach represents a fresh start and an improvement for the fourth year quarterback. The Jaguars did pick up his fifth year option, but he still needs to get better to secure a long term job. There are enough weapons in the offense to think he can do that, but fantasy GMs are cool on him right now, as he is the 20th quarterback coming off the board in early drafts. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [NYG - Evan Engram signs contract]() Source: New York Daily News - Ralph Vacchiano New York Giants TE Evan Engram signed his four-year rookie deal Thursday, June 15. Financial terms were not disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Engram has the ability to be a great move tight end, and be a huge mismatch in short and intermediate zones. It may take a while for him to catch up to the speed of the game, though, and the Giants feel he can also be a good blocker. That is the biggest pitfall here as well. As bad as the Giants offensive line is - and they did nothing to help it - Engram could end up stuck blocking a lot. Add in Brandon Marshall, Sterling Shepard and some dude named Odell Beckham Jr and while Engram's future is bright, his short term prospects are probably bleak. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [MIA - More Dolphins nursing injuries]() Source: The Miami Herald - Adam H. Beasley Miami Dolphins LB Koa Misi's (neck) status for training camp remains unclear as he continues to recover from a neck injury. OT Laremy Tunsil (hamstring) and WR [Rashawn Scott](=) (foot), however, are expected to be healthy enough to participate in training camp. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Tunsil is the most important piece here, as his move to left tackle is critical to the offense. Tunsil has more than showed he can handle the rigors of a full season, so we feel confident he will be Ok this season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [MIA - Mike Pouncey recovering well]() Source: The Miami Herald - Adam H. Beasley Miami Dolphins C Mike Pouncey (hip) is on a good track and improving well in his recovery from hip surgery, although it's unclear at this point if he will be able to participate in training camp. Pouncey's goal is to be available 'for the duration' of training camp, according to head coach Adam Gase. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Injuries on the offensive line were part of the problems which created a very inconsistent offense. If guys like Jay Ajayi and Ryan Tannehill are to have success in 2017, the line has to stay healthy. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [KC - Patrick Mahomes focusing on learning, consistency during minicamp]() Source: Josh Tolentino - Kansas City Star Josh Tolentino of the Kansas City Star reports Chiefs rookie QB Patrick Mahomes believes he's shown consistent improvement since organized team activities began a couple weeks ago. "(Today) was a progression and I just want to keep trying to getting better every single day." Mahomes said. "It's all about just putting these good days back to back and not having bad days." [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Mahomes is destined to be a backup this season, unless something really bad happens to Alex Smith. However the Chiefs have to be happy their quarterback of the future is looking solid in shorts and a t-shirt. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [PHI - WR Nelson Agholor shows out Thursday](=) Source: CSNPhilly.com - Derrick Gunn Philadelphia Eagles WR [Nelson Agholor](=) has made some great catches in practice Thursday, June 15, according to beat writer Derrick Gunn. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] While this is great to hear, playing in shorts has never really been Algholor's issue - playing in pads is. The former USC Trojan struggled with focus and the playbook again last season and with the additions of Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith, it's hard to see him producing much. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [CLE - Myles Garrett still out Thursday](=) Source: Ian Rapoport - NFL.com Cleveland Browns DE Myles Garrett (foot) remains out of practice Thursday, June 15. The team thinks he'll be fine. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A bit of an ignominious start for this year's first overall pick, but a very Cleveland Browns outcome. The club is happy he was able to walk off the field Wednesday after he hurt his foot during a simulated sack of Brock Osweiler. He was down for a moment and needed to be helped up by a trainer and coach Hue Jackson. NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported the team thinks he'll be fine. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [DET - Greg Robinson sent to Detroit](=) Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Los Angeles Rams OT Greg Robinson was acquired by the Detroit Lions Thursday, June 15, for a sixth-round pick in 2018, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A former second overall pick, Robinson never produced the way the Rams had hoped he would. His best fit - which some analysts thought was the case from the beginning - might be at guard, but with Taylor Decker coming back from recent shoulder surgery, the Lions may have to throw him in at tackle. We're a bit concerned by that, but somewhat hopeful that a new home will help Robinson finally find his mojo. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 17. [BAL - BAL to focus on offensive line]() Source: The Baltimore Sun - Jeff Zrebiec The Baltimore Ravens will focus on upgrading their offensive line following the signing of WR [Jeremy Maclin](=) and are not likely to add another wide receiver prior to camp. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Maclin still has something left in the tank, so it makes sense to turn back to shoring up the offensive line. Quarterback Joe Flacco was sacked 33 times, which isn't the highest total in the league by any stretch, but absolutely can be improved upon. Keeping Flacco from being pressured will give Maclin a better chance to succeed. We still believe Maclin might end up in the slot with Mike Wallace and Breshad Perriman on the outside. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 18. [NO - WR Willie Snead hopeful for deal before season](=) Source: The Advocate - Joel A. Erickson New Orleans Saints WR [Willie Snead](=) is optimistic that he'll have a long-term deal with the club before the new season begins. 'I think the guys upstairs are working on it,' Snead said. 'I'm hopeful, and I just have to keep worrying about myself and staying healthy and doing all the right things. I know it's going to be handled, it's going to take time, but I feel like we'll get it done sooner or later.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We could see a deal getting done since Brandin Cooks is over in New England. Mike Thomas will get more than his fair share of targets, and sure, Ted Ginn Jr. is now in the offense, but Snead clearly represents a big value and important piece for this team. Snead's current ADP marks him as the 81st player taken overall and the No. 34 wide receiver.
