[BAL - QB Lamar Jackson still a no-go](=) Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley Baltimore Ravens QB [Lamar Jackson](=) (knee) missed his 17th consecutive practice Thursday, Jan. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jackson doesn't look like he'll be able to play in the Wild Card Round. We'll have to see the health status of Tyler Huntley as the Ravens play against the Bengals this weekend. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [LVR - QB Derek Carr being shopped](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Las Vegas Raiders QB [Derek Carr](=) has been made available for trade as the team has begun evaluating the trade market. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It will be interesting to see what the Raiders get in return since every team knows he will be released if no trade can be agreed upon. Carr has a no-trade clause in his contract, so he will be involved in the process. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [BUF - WR Cole Beasley promoted]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Buffalo Bills WR [Cole Beasley](=) was promoted from the practice squad to the active roster Thursday, Jan. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Beasley can get out there in the Wild Card Round against the Dolphins. The Bills are on a mission to win the Super Bowl, and it all starts this weekend against a weakened divisional opponent. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [BUF - Bills' Thursday injury report]( Source: BuffaloBills.com Buffalo Bills WR [Isaiah McKenzie](=) (hamstring) and DL Jordan Phillips (shoulder) did not practice on Thursday, Jan. 12. Also, S Jordan Poyer (knee, rest) was limited, QB [Josh Allen](=) (ankle, elbow) and CB Cam Lewis (forearm) practiced in full and OG Rodger Saffold (rest) was a full participant and was removed from the injury report. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Bills activated WR Cole Beasley off their practice squad. With McKenzie missing practice, Beasley could operate as a trusted no.3 wide receiver for QB Josh Allen. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [LAC - WR Mike Williams questionable](=) Source: The 33rd Team - Ari Meirov Los Angeles Chargers WR [Mike Williams](=) (back) did not practice all week and was listed as questionable for the wild card game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday, Jan. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Williams is a key part of this offense and you know he'll do all he can to be out there. Let's see if we get any more clarity Friday. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [BUF - QB Josh Allen a full participant]( Source: BuffaloBills.com Buffalo Bills QB [Josh Allen](=) (ankle, elbow) practiced in full for the second-straight day on Thursday, Jan. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Allen wants to lead the Bills to a Super Bowl title. It all starts this weekend with a Wild Card game against the Dolphins. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [DEN - Denver leaning toward Jim Harbaugh?]() Source: Denver7 - Troy Renck University of Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh is the 'early leader' for the Denver Broncos head coaching vacancy, in the opinion of Denver7's Troy Renck. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Harbaugh has said that he would return to the NFL if the offer is there. It sounds like the offer is going to be there from the Broncos. They'll need better direction from the head coach than they got from Nathaniel Hackett, and Harbaugh would be that guy. He was successful with the 49ers as their head coach, and Harbaugh does a good job of working with the talent that is already in place. He would bring a culture and an attitude to Denver that has been missing since they won Super Bowl 50 after the 2015 season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [HOU - Ben Johnson interviewing with Houston]() Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Benjamin Johnson is interviewing for the Houston Texans' head coaching vacancy Thursday, Jan. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Johnson's work with the Lions offense has gotten him a lot of attention from other teams as a head coaching candidate. The Colts and the Panthers are also interested in the guy who turned the Lions into one of the league's best offenses. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [LAR - Raheem Morris could replace Sean McVay]( Source: SI.com - Albert Breer Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris would likely be elevated to the head coaching position if current head coach Sean McVay elects not to return in 2023, according to SI.com's Albert Breer. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Morris is getting more interest as a head coach from teams around the league. It makes sense for Morris to take over if McVay decides to retire and pursue other avenues in his career. [ARI - Ian Cunningham interviewing with Arizona](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Chicago Bears assistant general manager Ian Cunningham is interviewing with the Arizona Cardinals for their general manager vacancy Thursday, Jan. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Cunningham has an eye for talent, and he's been on the track to be a GM for some time now. He's learned from some of the best in the league, dating back to his days under Ozzie Newsome with the Ravens. The Cardinals could use an executive like Cunningham to lead the way into their new chapter. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [CIN - WR Tee Higgins back at practice Thursday](=) Source: ESPN.com - Ben Baby Cincinnati Bengals WR [Tee Higgins](=) (illness) returned to practice Thursday, Jan. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The game on Sunday night should be a big one for the Bengals' offense. They'll be more explosive if Higgins is out there against the Ravens in the Wild Card Round. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [BAL - RB Gus Edwards gets some work in Thursday](=) Source: BaltimoreRavens.com - Ryan Mink Baltimore Ravens RB [Gus Edwards](=) (concussion) returned to practice Thursday, Jan. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Edwards needs to be cleared to play against the Bengals this weekend. If he's out there, Edwards will be used to soften up the opponent between the tackles as per usual. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [DEN - Denver to interview Sean Payton on Tuesday]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter The Denver Broncos are scheduled to interview Sean Payton for their head coach vacancy Tuesday, Jan. 17, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Payton is still under contract with the Saints, so any team that wants him will have to trade for him. Earlier reports indicate the Broncos ownership group is comfortable with what the Saints would want for Payton. Even though Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh seems to be their top target, getting Payton has to be high on their list of possibilities as well. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [CAR - ILB Jerod Mayo likely to meet with Carolina]() Source: The Athletic - Joe Person New England Patriots linebackers coach Jerod Mayo is receiving interest from the Carolina Panthers regarding their head coaching position, and the Panthers have requested permission to interview Mayo, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Panthers and the Browns have interest in Mayo, although in Cleveland it's for their open defensive coordinator position. Mayo has been in the mix for a year or so, and the Panthers may decide to give him a chance as their head coach. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [DEN - Denver sets date for Raheem Morris interview]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris is scheduled to interview for the Denver Broncos head coach vacancy Tuesday, Jan. 17, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Morris has quite a bit of interest, and he should be a better head coach the second time around. The Rams could promote Morris to be their head coach if Sean McVay decides to retire. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [NYJ - NY Jets prepared to spend big on quarterback]() Source: New York Post - Brian Costello New York Jets QB [Zach Wilson](=) is reportedly still very much in the mix to start in 2023, according to team owner Woody Johnson. However, Johnson told reporters Thursday, Jan. 12, that he would 'absolutely' be prepared to pay up for a quarterback this offseason. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Many fans out there are connecting QB Derek Carr with the Jets. Wilson may be in the mix to start, but he's going to have to show drastic improvements to get the job. Instead, we'll put our chips on some veteran free agent (or trade target) getting the start for the Jets when the 2023 season kicks off. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 17. [HOU - Houston requests interview with RB Thomas Brown]() Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero Los Angeles Rams assistant head coach and tight ends coach Thomas Brown was requested to interview with the Houston Texans for their head coach vacancy, according to a source Thursday, Jan. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The coaches under Sean McVay always get attention in head coaching searches. Brown has been on that track for a couple of seasons, and there may be a team out there who decides to make him the top guy. If Brown doesn't get a head coaching job this year, we're certain he will be in the mix the next time around.
