[ARI - WR Marquise Brown's snaps in Week 16 limited](#11) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [ARI - DE J.J. Watt retiring after season]() Source: Twitter Arizona Cardinals DE J.J. Watt announced he intends to retire after the 2022 season. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Watt went to social networking to post a picture of his family with the caption including his "last ever NFL home game" after Sunday's contest against the Buccaneers. The no.11 pick in the star-studded 2011 NFL draft, Watt was nearly unstoppable during his prime with the Houston Texans. Injuries and age caught up to him over the last two seasons with the Cardinals, but there is no doubt that Watt is going to the Pro Football Hall of Fame - likely in his first year of eligibility. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [WAS - Washington undecided about Week 17 starting QB](=) Source: FOX Sports - Ralph Vacchiano Washington Commanders QBs [Carson Wentz](=) and [Taylor Heinicke](=) both displayed 'positives' in Week 16 against the San Francisco 49ers, leaving the team in a position where it has yet to decide which one will start in Week 17 versus the Cleveland Browns. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This was the buzz around the building entering the week. Now, Fantasy GMs are going to wait and see because things look different when it's either Taylor Heinicke or Carson Wentz out there under center. Rivera told reporters that he expects to announce the starter Wednesday, Dec. 28. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [WAS - RB Antonio Gibson ailing]( Source: The Washington Post - Nicki Jhabvala Washington Commanders RB [Antonio Gibson](=) (undisclosed) is dealing with a sprain to an undisclosed body part, according to head coach Ron Rivera. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Gibson has a sprain...somewhere on his body. That's not a ton to go off of, but his practice status will give us clues as to whether or not Gibson is going to be available against the Browns in Week 17. If Gibson does play, Fantasy GMs playing in the championship round might consider him as a deep RB4/flex play. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [DAL - RB Tony Pollard to practice Tuesday]( Source: The Athletic - Jon Machota Dallas Cowboys RB [Tony Pollard](=) (thigh) will practice Tuesday, Dec. 27, after he was listed as 'did not practice' on the team's estimated practice report Monday, Dec. 26. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Cowboys are on the road in Week 17. They play on Thursday night against the Tennessee Titans, and Pollard should be available to them. We will likely see him somewhat limited on Tuesday and Wednesday's practice reports. Fantasy GMs playing in the championship this week can count on Pollard as an RB2/flex play with upside. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [SEA - TE Will Dissly put on injured reserve]() Source: Seahawks.com - John Boyle Seattle Seahawks TE [Will Dissly](=) (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Dec. 27. CB Xavier Crawford was signed off the practice squad to replace him on the roster. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Well, earlier reports indicated Dissly might be able to practice. The Seahawks now shut down Dissly for the rest of the regular season. There's a chance Dissly could make it back for the playoffs if the Seahawks make it that far. Noah Fant gets a larger role with Dissly out of action. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [IND - QB Nick Foles to start again in Week 17]() Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Michael David Smith Indianapolis Colts QB [Nick Foles](=) will draw another start in Week 17 against the New York Giants, according to head coach Jeff Saturday. [Sam Ehlinger](=) will remain his backup, while [Matt Ryan](=) will be inactive. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Colts are just trying to get to the end of the regular season. They'll start Foles, but inside the building, they are looking at options for 2023 and beyond. At this time, the Colts have the no.5 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft. That means guys like QB Bryce Young (Alabama) or QB C.J. Stroud (Ohio State) could be options for them - if either one is available at that time. They'd likely need a higher draft pick if Young or Stroud is their target to be the team's quarterback of the future. [CIN - TE Hayden Hurst looking good for Week 17](=) Source: ESPN.com - Ben Baby Cincinnati Bengals TE [Hayden Hurst](=) (calf) has made enough progress in his recovery recently for the team to be 'very optimistic' about his ability to play in Week 17 against the Buffalo Bills. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The plan was to have Hurst back before the end of the regular season. We've seen backup TE Mitchell Wilcox get more work while Hurst has been out of action. Wilcox has nine catches and one touchdown over the last two games. When Hurst returns, Wilcox goes back to being a blocker who rarely gets targeted. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [SEA - TE Will Dissly will have tests this week]( Source: Seahawks.com - John Boyle Updating a previous report, Seattle Seahawks TE [Will Dissly](=) (knee) banged his knee in the Week 16 game against the Kansas City Chiefs and he will have tests done this week to determine the severity of the injury. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Dissly began the season out hot with three touchdowns in four games, but he has not scored since Week 4. We'll know more about his status as the week of practice goes on. Fantasy GMs playing for a championship in Week 17 will not be considering Dissly even if he's ready to go. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [IND - Jeff Saturday will be strongly considered](=) Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Michael David Smith Indianapolis Colts interim head coach Jeff Saturday will be strongly considered for the head coaching vacancy heading into 2023, team owner Jim Irsay said Monday, Dec. 26. 'Head coach is unknown until the interview process goes forward,' Irsay said. 'Jeff, I believe, is an outstanding candidate.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] What else is he going to say? It's not like Irsay is going to blast Saturday in public about the job he's done. Saturday jumped into a tough situation, and the Colts are trying to make the most of it. They've gone 1-4 with Saturday in charge, but he's expressed interest in getting the full-time job. We'll see them go through a bunch of candidates to find the right coach to lead them in the future. Then, we'll have to see how they handle the quarterback situation. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [TEN - RB Derrick Henry gets some work in Tuesday]() Source: Titans.com - Jim Wyatt Tennessee Titans RB [Derrick Henry](=) (hip) took part in practice Tuesday, Dec. 27, after he was listed as 'did not practice' on the team's estimated practice report Monday, Dec. 26. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Titans can't affect their playoff chances this week which worries us for Henry. But Week 18 is a huge game. Even with that, we'd guess Henry is going to be out there as the Titans' best player Thursday night against the Cowboys. With QB Malik Willis under center, the Titans will lean on Henry as much as they can. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [ARI - WR Marquise Brown's snaps in Week 16 limited](=) Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban Arizona Cardinals WR [Marquise Brown](=) did not start in Week 16 versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and played only 66 percent of the team's snaps in part because he was late to a team meeting during the week. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Brown was on the injury report with a thigh designation late last week, but apparently, it was the tardiness that caused him to play fewer snaps. He's in line to do more against the Falcons in Week 17. However, with QB Trace McSorley out there the passing game is going to be limited. Fantasy GMs can consider Brown a 'what the heck' flex in championship week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks.
