[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This move had to happen after the Rams dropped 51 points on the hapless Broncos in Week 16. Hackett never meshed with QB Russell Wilson, and it was a bad fit from day one. The Broncos made the big move of getting rid of a first-year head coach before his first full season was over, something that has only been done four previous times since 1970. With the wealthiest ownership group in the NFL, and a passionate fan base that is sick of losing, the Broncos will be an attractive job for prospective head coaches out there. [DEN - Jerry Rosburg named Denver's interim head coach]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Denver Broncos senior assistant coach Jerry Rosburg was named as the team's interim head coach Monday, Dec. 26, to replace the fired Nathaniel Hackett. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's a bit surprising that Broncos DC Ejiro Evero didn't get that spot, but Evero and Hackett are best friends so that could have been awkward. Rosburg has been in coaching for over 40 years, and he was a special teams coach with the Ravens for a decade (2008-2018). He was brought out of retirement when Hackett was having trouble with game management. Now, the Broncos senior assistant will be the lead man for a couple of games to finish out this lost season. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jets head coach Robert Saleh told reporters that QB Zach Wilson will be inactive for Week 17 against the Seahawks. That makes White the starter, and QB Joe Flacco will serve as his primary backup. White is a free agent next season, and the Jets are kind of stuck with former no.2 overall pick Wilson in 2023. They will bring in competition for the starting job, and they may want to do what they can to make sure that's White. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Henry is sore but 'has a chance to play' in Week 17 against the Miami Dolphins. He collided with TE Jonnu Smith on the first drive and exited the game against the Bengals in Week 16. [ATL - QB Marcus Mariota goes under the knife]( Source: ESPN.com - Michael Rothstein Atlanta Falcons QB [Marcus Mariota](=) (knee) recently underwent surgery on his injured knee, according to head coach Arthur Smith. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Mariota's season was cut short by this knee injury, and even though he's under contract with the Falcons next year we'll likely see him released. He has a cap hit of $14.5 million in 2023, but there's only $2.5 million remaining in dead money. Some team will likely want Mariota as a valuable veteran backup next season. [TB - RB Leonard Fournette playing through foot issue?]( Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Michael David Smith Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB [Leonard Fournette](=) (foot) recently posted on social media - and has since deleted the post - that he has been playing through a Lisfranc injury in his foot. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Fournette was blasting people who have been taking issue with his weight on social networking, proclaiming that a foot injury has been bothering him all year. The Buccaneers have not had Fournette on the injury report for the past couple of weeks, so the league will be looking into this. Fournette rushed 20 times for 72 yards in the Bucs' Week 16 overtime win over the Cardinals, adding nine receptions for 90 yards.
