Our Dave Kluge with some interesting news for the AFC West. Just as Isiah Pacheco seemed to be taking over the Kansas City backfield, the Chiefs made a semi-splashy movie by signing recently-released running back Melvin Gordon. Now, Gordon is far from the player he was during his days as a Charger. This signing would be more concerning for Pacheco if Clyde Edwards-Helaire were not just placed on Injured Reserve. Over the last three weeks, Pacheco has 17.7 carries for 86 yards per game while boasting a very impressive 4.9 yards per carry. Jerick McKinnon has looked great as the passing-down back. That doesn't leave much for Gordon. He probably gets some early-down work here and there and might see the occasional goal-line carry. That usage would be similar to what Edwards-Helaire saw for a couple of games before his injury. The Chiefs are likely looking to bolster their backfield depth as they prepare to push for another deep playoff run. Gordon makes for a speculative add if he's available on waivers, but should remain on your fantasy bench for now. Now Let's Go. [KC - RB Melvin Gordon likely headed to KC]() Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero Free-agent RB [Melvin Gordon](=) (Chiefs) is expected to join the Kansas City Chiefs' practice squad in the near future, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Chiefs had better be careful if they ever let Gordon on the field. A notorious fumbler with the Chargers and Broncos, Gordon fumbled his job away in Denver but was only out of work for a little over a week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [CLE - QB Deshaun Watson reinstated](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson has complied with all the terms following his 11-game suspension for violations of the personal conduct policy and is officially active. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Watson is going to start in Week 13 against his old team the Houston Texans. It's his first game back, so we're not going to go crazy with his projections. However, they're playing a bad Texans team and all Browns skill position players should get a boost with the matchup and Watson's return. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [SF - RB Elijah Mitchell out at least six weeks](=) Source: San Jose Mercury News - Cam Inman San Francisco 49ers RB [Elijah Mitchell](=) (knee) is expected to miss six to eight weeks because of a sprained medial collateral ligament. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Tough news for Mitchell and the 49ers here. We'll see if Christian McCaffrey is able to carry some additional workload. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [DET - Outside chance Jameson Williams debuts in Week 13](=) Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett Detroit Lions WR Jameson Williams (knee) seems unlikely to play in Week 13 versus the Jacksonville Jaguars, as head coach Dan Campbell told reporters that it would be 'a tall order but anything's open.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It sounds like there's an outside chance we'll see Williams in Week 13. He was designated to return last week, but the Lions have some time before they activate him. We imagine Williams will get out to practice and then ramp up before his season debut. If Week 13 is a stretch, then perhaps Williams will be out there for Week 14...right in time for the fantasy playoffs. The rookie receiver has plenty of flex appeal with upside when he's out there on the football field. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [JAX - RB Travis Etienne all good]() Source: ESPN.com - Cameron Wolfe Jacksonville Jaguars RB [Travis Etienne](=) (foot) could have returned to the Week 12 game, but the team kept him out as a precaution. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jaguars fans and Fantasy GMs can breathe a sigh of relief here. Etienne had a foot injury that knocked the 2021 first-round pick out of his entire rookie season. This is not that serious, so Etienne should be ready to go in Week 13. Let's see what he can do in practice this week, but we imagine he will be limited and then work toward a full participation later in the week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [CIN - RB Joe Mixon making progress](=) Source: NFL.com Cincinnati Bengals RB [Joe Mixon](=) (concussion) is still in the concussion protocol but is making progress in his recovery. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Mixon is going through the protocol, and we'll know more about his availability for Week 13 later in the week. Samaje Perine has been doing an admirable job in his place. When Mixon is healthy, Perine could still be flex worthy for Fantasy GMs out there. [CHI - WR Darnell Mooney done for the year]() Source: The Athletic - Adam Jahns Chicago Bears WR [Darnell Mooney](=) (ankle) is expected to undergo season-ending surgery on the ankle injury he suffered in Week 12 versus the New York Jets, according to head coach Matt Eberflus. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A sad ending to a young player who was flashing at times for the Bears' offense. A fifth-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft, the Bears might think about extending Mooney this offseason. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [CIN - Ja'Marr Chase optimistic about Week 13](=) Source: NFL.com Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase (hip) believes he will be able to play in Week 13, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The original plan was to have Chase out there in Week 12. He did practice last week, but the Bengals felt one more week of rest was best for the superstar receiver. We should see him practice again this week in preparation for a huge game with playoff implications against the Chiefs. If/when Chase returns, he should be back in your fantasy lineup. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [KC - WR Kadarius Toney day-to-day]() Source: The Athletic - Nate Taylor Kansas City Chiefs WR [Kadarius Toney](=) (hamstring) is considered day-to-day with a hamstring injury that sidelined him for Week 12 versus the Los Angeles Rams, according to head coach Andy Reid. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Toney has flashed just a little bit with the Chiefs, but just like his time with the Giants we see him bothered by a troublesome hamstring injury. In deep bench leagues, Toney is worth hanging onto as a valuable piece of a high-powered offense when healthy. If you have a shallow bench, you likely moved on from Toney already. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [HOU - RB Rex Burkhead in concussion protocol]() Source: KPRC.com - Aaron Wilson Houston Texans RB [Rex Burkhead](=) (concussion) was placed in the league's concussion protocol Monday, Nov. 28. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Burkhead will now go through the league's concussion protocol. We'll see what he can do during the week of practice. The Texans might give Eno Benjamin some playing time against the Browns in Week 13 if Burkhead can't go. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [BAL - RB J.K. Dobbins inching closer to return](=) Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Myles Simmons Baltimore Ravens RB [J.K. Dobbins](=) (knee) is expected to participate in practice this week 'to some degree,' according to head coach John Harbaugh. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We'll see what Dobbins can do as the week progresses. The Ravens have a lowly Broncos team to push around in Week 13. Playing at home, it might be a good time to ease Dobbins back into action. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [NYJ - RB Michael Carter 50-50 to play in Week 13]( Source: ESPN.com - Rich Cimini New York Jets RB [Michael Carter](=) (ankle) suffered a low-ankle sprain in Week 12 versus the Chicago Bears and is expected to be listed as questionable for Week 13 against the Minnesota Vikings. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Let's see what Carter can do in practice. At least it is not a high-ankle sprain for the young running back. Ty Johnson and Zonovan Knight did more in Week 12, and perhaps even James Robinson would be tasked with a larger role if Carter has to miss time.
