Tons of news as usual plus killer content. And make sure you're watching Josh Palmer for the Chargers. From our Dave Kluge: With news that Keenan Allen reinjured himself over the bye and that Mike Williams is set to miss a few weeks, Palmer should immediately be elevated to your fantasy lineup. Still available in over 50 percent of leagues, Palmer's season thus far has been marred by injuries. But in the three games where he has logged more than 75 percent of the team's snaps, he has pulled eight, nine, and twelve targets. He averaged 14.5 PPR fantasy points per game in those matchups. As of Thursday, Palmer has cleared concussion protocol and is on track to start against the Atlanta Falcons, who are giving up the most points to fantasy wide receivers. Palmer should assume WR1 duties for the Los Angeles Chargers and makes for a fantastic streaming option in all formats. Have a great Friday. Let's Go. [IND - RB Deon Jackson worth look off waiver wire]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Indianapolis Colts RB [Deon Jackson](=) could potentially operate as the No. 1 back in Week 9 against the New England Patriots after RB [Jonathan Taylor](=) (ankle) missed practice Wednesday, Nov. 2 after tweaking his ankle. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] If Taylor is out of action, the Colts will turn to Jackson and RB Phillip Lindsay in their backfield. The Patriots rank 22nd in the NFL in rushing defense, allowing 126.0 yards per game. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [LAC - WR Keenan Allen's injury worsened during bye]() Source: ESPN.com - Lindsey Thiry Updating a previous report, Los Angeles Chargers WR [Keenan Allen](=) (hamstring) said Wednesday, Nov. 2, that his hamstring injury worsened during the bye week while training. He added that the next time he plays in a game, it will not be on a snap count, but that he will be 100 percent, or will not play. He said he played in Week 7, and felt great, but wasn't 100 percent. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It just seems like a lost season for Allen. The Chargers are going to be without WR Mike Williams (ankle) for about a month. If Allen has to miss more time, then guys like Josh Palmer and DeAndre Carter will get more work. We especially like Palmer's chances this week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [IND - RB Jonathan Taylor absent from another practice]( Source: The Athletic - Zak Keefer Indianapolis Colts RB [Jonathan Taylor](=) (ankle) missed a second consecutive practice Thursday, Nov. 3. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Taylor is trending in the wrong direction. It's looking like he could miss the game against the Patriots on Sunday. That means Deon Jackson and Phillip Lindsay would be asked to do more in Week 9. Let's see if Taylor can practice on Friday. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [BAL - WR Rashod Bateman done for the year](=) Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley Baltimore Ravens WR [Rashod Bateman](=) (foot) is scheduled to undergo surgery in the near future to repair his Lisfranc injury and will miss the rest of the season, according to head coach John Harbaugh. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Bateman started five games for the Ravens in 2022, finishing the season with 15 catches for 285 yards. We'll see more WR Devin Duvernay now that Bateman is done for the year. Veteran WR DeSean Jackson could climb into fantasy relevancy, and TE Mark Andrews (plus rookie TE Isaiah Likely) could get even more work. Bateman is no guarantee to begin the 2023 season on the active roster and instead might have to begin the year on the PUP list. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [NO - WR Michael Thomas unlikely to play again in 2022]( Source: NOLA.com - Luke Johnson New Orleans Saints WR [Michael Thomas](=) (toe) recently had a setback in his recovery from a dislocated toe and was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Thursday, Nov. 3, according to head coach Dennis Allen. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Bad news for the veteran receiver as Thomas is expected to undergo surgery soon and is unlikely to play again this season. He finishes 2022 with 16 catches for 171 yards and three touchdowns. Thomas may not be with the Saints next season. As far as the rest of this year goes, rookie WR Chris Olave is going to get as much work as he can handle. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [TEN - RB Derrick Henry a no-go Thursday]() Source: TennesseeTitans.com - Jim Wyatt Tennessee Titans RB [Derrick Henry](=) (foot) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 3. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Keep an eye on this situation. The Titans had Henry limited on Wednesday, and then he did not participate on Thursday. He told the media this week that he was going to play Sunday night against the Chiefs. Let's see what Henry can do on Friday. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [BAL - TE Mark Andrews sits out practice Thursday](=) Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley Baltimore Ravens TE [Mark Andrews](=) (shoulder, ankle) did not practice Thursday, Nov. 3. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Baltimore has the Monday Night game this week so the Ravens are a day behind the other teams in the normal weekly schedule. Let's see if he can work Friday but keep an eye on this. We may see more of rookie TE Isaiah Likely on Monday night against the Saints. There are six teams on bye in Week 9, so Fantasy GMs may have to depend on Likely. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [DAL - RBs coach explains capping RB Tony Pollard's usage]( Source: DallasCowboys.com - Patrik Walker Dallas Cowboys RB [Tony Pollard](=) played a total of 30 plays in Week 8 against the Chicago Bears, and it appears as though the coaching staff has no desire to use him more than that - at the expense of [Ezekiel Elliott](=) anyway - for fear that his effectiveness will drop after that point, according to recent comments made by running backs coach Skip Peete.'(Pollard) played a total of 30 plays (in Week 8), and I think that's his max - as far as total play count - because then the juice (isn't the same after that) and he's not as quick, not as fast. When he got that long run on third-and-1, soon as he got to the sideline he said, 'Coach, I'm done. Done for the game. I've got no more.' Tony's obviously a very talented runner and good all-around back, but some guys are race cars. Some guys are high-quality, expensive sedans and those sedans can go for a long distance at a very high rate, whereas race cars go very fast and quick and run out of gas,' Peete told the team's website. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said "there's no argument" about Ezekiel Elliott's status as the team's lead back. When healthy, Elliott is going to take the job from Pollard who filled in admirably. They're on a bye this week, but the Cowboys will take on the Packers in Week 10 - and Elliott will be the lead back when healthy. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [SF - RB Elijah Mitchell nearing return](=) Source: NBC Sports Bay Area - Matt Maiocco San Francisco 49ers RB [Elijah Mitchell](=) (knee) indicated that he expects to be activated from the Reserve/Injured list in time to play against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, Nov. 13. The team is currently on bye this week. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Mitchell should be back in action soon, but the 49ers' backfield looks much different now than when he was banged up back in Week 1. Jeff Wilson is gone to the Dolphins, and Christian McCaffrey is there as the lead running back. When Mitchell is healthy, he will work as the primary backup to McCaffrey. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [CIN - Ja'Marr Chase sits again](=) Source: Bengals.com Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase (hip) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 3. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Chase is considered week-to-week with this hip injury. If he doesn't play again, the Week 9 targets should mostly go to WRs Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd. [WAS - Jahan Dotson still sidelined]() Source: ESPN.com - John Keim Washington Commanders WR [Jahan Dotson](=) (hamstring) missed his sixth consecutive practice Thursday, Nov. 3. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Dotson looked great to begin his rookie season. Then, his hamstring started acting up on him in Week 4. Since then, Dotson has been inactive on game day with an injury that was only supposed to sideline him for a week or two. When healthy, the speedy rookie will once again be a deep threat for the Commanders with a nose for the end zone. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [PIT - Bigger role for WR Steven Sims?]( Source: ESPN - Brooke Pryor Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said it was 'reasonable to expect' WR [Steven Sims](=) to see more snaps out of the slot moving forward after the team traded WR [Chase Claypool](=) to the Chicago Bears. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Sims will take over in the slot, and he can do more when asked to do more for the Steelers. He hasn't been on the field much this year, as the Steelers used Diontae Johnson, George Pickens, and Claypool. With Claypool dealt to the Bears, Sims has a chance to come through as a relief-valve target for rookie QB Kenny Pickett. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [BAL - RB Gus Edwards a DNP on Thursday](=) Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley Baltimore Ravens RB [Gus Edwards](=) (hamstring) did not practice Thursday, Nov. 3. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Ravens play on Monday night against the Saints. Edwards may play, but we'll have to see what he can do on Saturday before projecting his production. If Edwards can't go, the Ravens turn to guys like Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill in their backfield. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [GB - QB Aaron Rodgers listed as limited]() Source: Packers.com Green Bay Packers QB [Aaron Rodgers](=) (thumb) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 3. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Rodgers is dealing with this thumb injury. He doesn't look the same, but that could be partly his injury and partly the receivers trying to make plays for him. Against the Lions in Week 9, we like him as a high-end QB2. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [CAR - D'Onta Foreman fully participating]() Source: Panthers.com Carolina Panthers RB D'Onta Foreman (non-injury) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 3. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Foreman is the lead back for the Panthers. He's likely to split time with Chuba Hubbard in Week 9 against the Bengals. We still like Foreman as an RB2 with upside in PPR formats. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [ARI - Expanded role for WR Robbie Anderson?](=) Source: AZCentral Sports - Jose M. Romero Arizona Cardinals WR [Robbie Anderson](=) might have a larger role in Week 9 against the Seattle Seahawks. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury said Wednesday, Nov. 2, that the coaches will try to 'force feed' the veteran receiver. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We'll see if the force-feeding works out, but we're not holding out hope. Instead, we like the idea of using WR Rondale Moore - well, more going forward instead of forcing it with Anderson. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 17. [WAS - WR Dyami Brown's injury in rear-view mirror]( Source: Washington Commanders PR Washington Commanders WR [Dyami Brown](=) (groin) is no longer listed on the team's injury report heading into the Week 9 game against the Minnesota Vikings. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Brown has been filling in nicely as the no.3 receiver for the Commanders. With rookie WR Jahan Dotson out of action, Brown has elevated his game and he's worth a 'what the heck' flex look in Week 9. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 18. [DET - D'Andre Swift back on the field Thursday]( Source: DetroitLions.com - Tim Twentyman Detroit Lions RB D'Andre Swift (ankle, shoulder) was spotted on the field during the portion of practice open to the media Thursday, Nov. 3. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Swift played through these various injuries in Week 8. He should be able to do the same in Week 9. We like him as a low-end RB2 in PPR formats. Jamaal Williams will continue to have flex appeal as Swift is eased back into action. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 19. [GB - Allen Lazard, Christian Watson back to work](=) Source: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel - Tom Silverstein Green Bay Packers WRs [Allen Lazard](=) (shoulder) and [Christian Watson](=) (concussion) practiced in pads Thursday, Nov. 3. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Good news for the Packers here. QB Aaron Rodgers has been struggling as of late, and it's not just because he's battling a thumb injury. His receivers have been letting him down. If Lazard and Watson are back in action on Sunday that will help. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 20. [BUF - Buffalo will kick tires on WR Odell Beckham]( Source: NFL.com - Coral Smith Free-agent WR Odell Beckham Jr. (knee) continues to recover from a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered in the Super Bowl, but he is still garnering plenty of attention from teams, including the Buffalo Bills. 'OBJ's a heck of a talent,' general manager Brandon Beane said Wednesday, Nov. 2. 'You know where he was drafted, obviously he had the great catch and he might have been the MVP of that Super Bowl, does he not tear the ACL. But he's a heck of a player, everyone in this room knows who OBJ is. And you know me, if we think we can help this team, we'd be crazy not to at least look into it.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Bills are Super Bowl favorites, and adding a talent like Beckham could help push them over the top. Beckham might not be ready until December, but he wants to sign with a contender and the Bills must be at the top of his list.
