[CIN - Ja'Marr Chase to avoid IR]() Source: The Athletic - Paul Dehner Jr. Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase (hip) will not be placed on injured reserve, head coach Zac Taylor said Saturday, Oct. 29. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Chase's hip injury should cause him to miss around a month. The Bengals are not shutting him down on IR, so there's a chance he could be back before then. The Bengals have a bye in Week 10, so perhaps there's a chance Chase could be back after that. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [LAR - WR Van Jefferson activated]( Source: Rams.com Los Angeles Rams WR Van Jefferson (knee) was activated from injured reserve on Saturday, Oct. 29. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jefferson will be active in Week 8. The Rams could use the help at the position. Outside of Cooper Kupp, the team has seen Allen Robinson disappoint. We'll see if Jefferson can work to stretch the field for QB Matthew Stafford. In deeper leagues, Jefferson is worth taking a look at as a bench/stash player. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [TEN - Malik Willis expected to start]() Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero Tennessee Titans QB [Malik Willis](=) is expected to start for QB [Ryan Tannehill](=) (ankle/illness) in Week 8 as the veteran battles an ankle injury and illness, per sources on Saturday, Oct. 29. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Willis is a rushing quarterback with a rocket arm. He can make every throw required in the NFL, but the Titans should keep things simple for the rookie in Week 8. Expect him to run, take some deep shots as a passer, but mostly hand off the ball to RB Derrick Henry. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [HOU - WR Nico Collins downgraded to out]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Updating a previous report, Houston Texans WR [Nico Collins](=) (groin) was downgraded from questionable to out Saturday, Oct. 29. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [CIN - TE Hayden Hurst good to go]() Source: Bengals.com Cincinnati Bengals TE [Hayden Hurst](=) (groin/ankle) was limited in practice all week but carries no designation into Week 8, per the team's injury report on Saturday, Oct. 29. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Bengals are going to be without WR Ja'Marr Chase for a few weeks. Going forward, they could start to use Hurst more in the passing game. We're interested given the potential for opportunity and Hurst's natural skill set when healthy. Take a wait-and-see approach to see if Hurst gets more looks - and produces with those extra targets. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [CLE - TE Harrison Bryant good to go]( Source: ClevelandBrowns.com Cleveland Browns TE [Harrison Bryant](=) (thumb) practiced in full all week and was removed from the injury report on Saturday, Oct. 29. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Bryant should get an every-down role now that David Njoku has been declared out for Monday night's game against the Bengals. He's got talent, and he will get a nice workload, but from a fantasy perspective we'll take a cautious outlook and say he's more of a top-15 option rather than a top-10 option in Week 8. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [CLE - WR Amari Cooper set for Week 8]( Source: ClevelandBrowns.com Cleveland Browns WR [Amari Cooper](=) (rest) practiced in full on Saturday, Oct. 29, and carries no designation into Week 8. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Cooper is good to go against the Bengals on Monday night. We like him as a low-end WR2 or flex play in Week 8 for Fantasy GMs in PPR formats. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [DEN - QB Russell Wilson to start Week 8](=) Source: Broncos Wire - Jon Heath Denver Broncos QB [Russell Wilson](=) will start Week 8's game versus the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to head coach Nathaniel Hackett. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Wilson has a partially torn hamstring, but he's going to play after missing last week's game against the Jets. He's also dealing with a lat injury next to his throwing shoulder, and Wilson has not looked good this year. He has flashed a bit when running the ball and improvising as a passer, but after six games Wilson does not look like a good fit with head coach Nathaniel Hackett. Since the team paid Wilson, Hackett is likely out as the top man unless he can turn things around over the second half of the season. [LVR - WR Davante Adams expected to play](=) Source: Las Vegas Review-Journal - Adam Hill Las Vegas Raiders WR [Davante Adams](=) (illness) is expected to play in Week 8's game versus the New Orleans Saints. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Reports indicate that Adams has a 'bad flu' but he should be good to go against the Saints. As per usual, we've got Adams as a WR1 for Fantasy GMs provided that he's out there on Sunday. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [ATL - Tyler Allgeier's usage on the rise]() Source: ESPN.com - Michael Rothstein Atlanta Falcons RB [Tyler Allgeier](=) has seen his carries increase in each of the last four games, and he has recorded at least 10 carries in each game during that stretch. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Without Cordarrelle Patterson, the Falcons had to find a way to run the ball effectively. That workload has gone to the rookie Allgeier. He's got plenty of flex appeal, and his fantasy value could rise if he produces on his touches...and then gets more work in the future. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [CLE - TE David Njoku ruled out for Week 8](=) Source: 92.3 The Fan - Daryl Ruiter Cleveland Browns TE [David Njoku](=) (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 8, head coach Kevin Stefanski said on Saturday, Oct. 29. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] There was some hope that Njoku could play on Monday night against the Bengals. Now, that's shut down with him being ruled out. That means Harrison Bryant could get more work as the lead tight end for the Browns. The team has a bye in Week 9, and Njoku should return after that. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [KC - RB Ronald Jones wants to be released]( Source: Twitter In a post on his personal Twitter account Friday, Oct. 28, Kansas City Chiefs RB Ronald Jones wrote that he would 'sure like a release right about now.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Jerick McKinnon, and rookie Isaih Pacheco have been carrying the load for the Chiefs. Jones has been a healthy scratch for each of the team's first seven games of the season. We'll see if the Chiefs oblige him or hold onto him for what looks like another deep postseason run. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [MIA - Miami leaning on RB Raheem Mostert]() Source: ESPN.com - Marcel Louis-Jacques Miami Dolphins RB [Raheem Mostert](=) has logged at least 15 touches in four straight games, and he has topped 80 total yards in three of those outings. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Dolphins want to run the heck out of the ball with head coach Mike McDaniel. Mostert is the favorite in the backfield, and thus he gets the most work. From a fantasy perspective, Mostert is an RB2 with upside each week due to his talent, the system, and his workload. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [TEN - Malik Willis could start Week 8's game]( Source: The Tennessean - Mike Organ Tennessee Titans QB [Malik Willis](=) is being prepared to start Week 8's game versus the Houston Texans in case QB [Ryan Tannehill](=) (ankle, illness) is unable to play, according to offensive coordinator Todd Downing. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Willis should start in Week 8 against the Texans. That's an interesting prospect for Fantasy GMs or DFS players. Willis is a rushing quarterback with a rocket arm. He should hand the ball off to Derrick Henry early and often. A rushing quarterback is always worth considering as a fantasy streamer, cheap DFS option, or second quarterback in start-2 QB leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [TEN - RB Derrick Henry's dominance vs. Texans]() Source: NFL Tennessee Titans RB [Derrick Henry](=) has rushed for 103.5 yards per game over 10 career contests against the team's Week 8 opponent, the Houston Texans. He's also tallied at least 200 rushing yards and multiple touchdowns in each of his last three games versus Houston. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Henry is going to be the centerpiece as per usual. He'll especially get a full workload because rookie QB Malik Willis is likely to start for the Titans. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [LAR - RB Kareem Hunt drawing interest from Rams](=) Source: Orange & Brown Report - Brad Stainbrook Cleveland Browns RB [Kareem Hunt](=) is drawing trade interest from the Los Angeles Rams, per source on Friday, Oct. 28. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hunt can be a lead back, and a three-down back, for any team in the NFL. He led the league in rushing as a rookie with the Chiefs years ago. With the Browns, Hunt has been a backup to Nick Chubb. The Rams don't have a strong rushing attack, and they could use a talent like Hunt to be their starter. We'll see if something materializes before the Nov.1 trade deadline. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks. Enjoy the games and we'll see you tomorrow with the Update.
