[DAL - QB Dak Prescott expects to return Week 7](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Dallas Cowboys QB [Dak Prescott](=) (thumb) said he expects to return in Week 7 against the Detroit Lions. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Cowboys went 4-2 with Cooper Rush at the helm, but it's time to get back to Prescott. With plenty of weapons around him, Prescott should post QB1 numbers upon his return for Fantasy GMs. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [CAR - Carolina gets late picks for WR Robbie Anderson]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Updating a previous report, Carolina Panthers WR [Robbie Anderson](=) was traded to the Arizona Cardinals on Monday, Oct. 17, in exchange for a sixth-round draft choice in 2024 and a seventh-round draft choice in 2025. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Panthers would take pretty much whatever they could get for Anderson. A college player under former Panthers head coach Matt Rhule, things have been downhill for Anderson since his 1,000-yard season in 2020. Anderson was sent to the locker room by interim Panthers coach Steve Wilks in the fourth quarter of Carolina's Week 6 game against the Rams. The Panthers will turn to guys like Shi Smith, Laviska Shenault, and Terrace Marshall with Anderson traded away. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [ARI - WR Robbie Anderson dealt to Arizona for late pick]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Updating a previous report, Carolina Panthers WR [Robbie Anderson](=) was traded to the Arizona Cardinals on Monday, Oct. 17, in exchange for a sixth-round draft choice in 2024 and a seventh-round draft choice in 2025. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The early word on Marquise Brown's foot injury is he could miss six weeks. He was in a boot after the loss to the Seahawks on Sunday. The Cardinals are making moves to address the void and Anderson should be a help. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [LAR - RB Cam Akers being shopped]( Source: Los Angeles Daily News - Gilbert Manzano Los Angeles Rams RB [Cam Akers](=) is being shopped to other teams, and the team will look to give Akers a fresh start, according to head coach Sean McVay. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Akers has likely played his final snaps for the Rams. He missed last week's game due to personal reasons, and now the Rams are shopping his services. With Akers' play and this unusual situation, the Rams will be lucky to get a late-round pick in exchange for him. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [ARI - WR Marquise Brown could miss six weeks](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Updating a previous report, Arizona Cardinals WR [Marquise Brown](=) (foot) suffered a small fracture in his foot that will not require surgery but sideline him for approximately six weeks, according to a source. Early reports Monday, Oct. 17, suggested he could miss the rest of the season with the injury. Brown is expected to get a second opinion from noted foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson before moving forward, however. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] There had been fear Brown might be lost for the season so compared to that, this is relatively good news. Let's see if the second opinion comes back with a similar prognosis. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [TB - TE Cameron Brate update](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Updating previous reports, Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE [Cameron Brate](=) (neck) traveled on the team flight Sunday, Oct. 16, and follow-up scans were negative. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It was a scary injury for Brate as his facemask was removed and he was carted off the field. It's a neck injury and not a concussion per Buccaneers' head coach Todd Bowles, so Brate won't have to go through league protocol. Instead, he'll have to heal from this neck injury which could take some time. Rookie TE Cade Otton could get more work if/when Brate misses time. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [WAS - QB Carson Wentz expected to miss at least a month](=) Source: SNY - Ralph Vacchiano Washington Commanders QB [Carson Wentz](=) (finger) will likely need four to six weeks to recover from the broken finger he suffered in Week 6 against the Chicago Bears. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Commanders can now turn to Taylor Heinicke as their starter. He's been the starter before, and things haven't turned out positively for the team. That makes us wonder when rookie QB Sam Howell (fifth round, North Carolina) could get a shot to gain valuable playing experience. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [HOU - Jack Easterby let go]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Houston Texans executive vice president of football operations Jack Easterby has parted ways with the organization Monday, Oct. 17. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Easterby had been the Texans' interim GM before they hired Nick Caserio. Earlier this year, Easterby said his role in the organization is to "stay out of the way" and to "make sure the operation is efficient." Now that Easterby is gone, more changes could be coming for a Texans team that is trying to be competitive once again. They're 1-3-1 after five games, and the Texans had a bye in Week 6. The team travels to Las Vegas to take on the Raiders in Week 7. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [TEN - WR Josh Gordon released](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Tennessee Titans WR [Josh Gordon](=) was released from the practice squad Monday, Oct. 17. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] In two games, Gordon played 24 snaps for the Titans, receiving one target. He's at the point in his career where Gordon is barely holding on in the league. We'll see if another team shows interest in the veteran receiver. [MIA - Skylar Thompson day-to-day]() Source: Pro Football Network - Adam H. Beasley Miami Dolphins QB [Skylar Thompson](=) (thumb) is considered day-to-day because of the thumb injury he suffered in Week 6. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We'll see what Thompson can do during practice this week. The Dolphins are likely to get regular starter Tua Tagovailoa back in Week 7, meaning Thompson goes back to being a backup. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [BAL - WR Rashod Bateman healing up](=) Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley Baltimore Ravens WR [Rashod Bateman](=) (foot) is recovering from a sprained left foot but 'close (to returning),' according to head coach John Harbaugh. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Ravens go up against a divisional foe in Week 7 as they're at home to face the Browns. Bateman could be ready for Sunday's game, but Wednesday's initial practice report will tell us the most about his availability. He'll have to at least practice by Friday in order to have a chance to play, but it sounds like Bateman is close to a return. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [NO - QB Andy Dalton listed as limited]( Source: NFLCommunications.com New Orleans Saints QB [Andy Dalton](=) (back) was limited during practice Monday, Oct. 17. The Saints did not hold a practice Monday, so this is an estimation. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's a short week for the Saints, but Dalton may get another start on Thursday night. He was listed as limited on Monday, and Jameis Winston was also limited with his ankle/back injury. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [NO - WR Jarvis Landry likely out again](=) Source: The Times-Picayune - Jeff Duncan New Orleans Saints WR [Jarvis Landry](=) (ankle) is not expected to play in Week 7 Thursday, Oct. 20. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Saints play the Cardinals in Week 7 on Thursday night. They'll likely be without both Landry and WR Michael Thomas on the offensive side of the ball. That means Chris Olave, who needs to be cleared in the concussion protocol, could be in for a large workload against a bad Cardinals defense. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [NO - WR Michael Thomas likely out again](=) Source: The Times-Picayune - Jeff Duncan New Orleans Saints WR [Michael Thomas](=) (foot) is not expected to play in Week 7 Thursday, Oct. 20. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Saints have a short week as they play on Thursday against the Cardinals. Thomas will be out, so we'll have to see if rookie WR Chris Olave clears the concussion protocol before game time. If Olave is out there, he should be a major part of what the Saints do through the air in Week 7. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [GB - WR Randall Cobb likely headed for IR](=) Source: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel - Tom Silverstein Updating a previous report, Green Bay Packers WR [Randall Cobb](=) (ankle) suffered an ankle injury in Week 6 against the New York Jets. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Bad news for QB Aaron Rodgers here as one of his favorite targets will now miss at least one month of action. While it is expected that Cobb will be placed on the Reserve/Injured list, head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters Monday, Oct. 17, that Cobb avoided serious injury. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [BAL - Baltimore to take a look at WR DeSean Jackson]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Free-agent WR DeSean Jackson (Raiders) is scheduled to visit with the Baltimore Ravens on Tuesday, Oct. 18. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jackson can still fly, and the Ravens want to see what the veteran receiver still has left in the tank. They're likely just updating their emergency list, but a good workout could lead to a contract offer. With the Rams and the Raiders in 2021, Jackson had 20 catches for 454 yards and two receiving touchdowns. Earlier this year Jackson said he is considering retirement, but that he would play in 2022 if connected with an elite quarterback. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 17. [ARI - WR DeAndre Hopkins officially done with suspension](=) Source: AZCardinals.com Arizona Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins was activated to the 53-man roster after completing his six-game suspension to begin the season Monday, Oct. 17. PK Matt Ammendola was released to make room for him on the roster. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Cardinals WRs are shuffling this week and they'll be glad to have Hopkins back in the mix.
