[DAL - QB Cooper Rush expected to start]( Source: The Dallas Morning News - Michael Gehlken Dallas Cowboys QB [Cooper Rush](=) is expected to start in Week 6, according to head coach Mike McCarthy. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Rush has gone 4-1 as the starter for the Cowboys, and he'll continue to lead the way while Dak Prescott (thumb) continues to recover. As the week of practice continues, we'll have a better feel for when Prescott could return. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [ATL - TE Kyle Pitts returns to practice](=) Source: AtlantaFalcons.com - Tori McElhaney Atlanta Falcons TE [Kyle Pitts](=) (hamstring) returned to practice on Wednesday, Oct. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Pitts is testing out his hamstring on Wednesday. Barring any setbacks, we could see Pitts out there this week against the 49ers. Hopefully, the team starts targeting him more if Pitts is able to play. Check back on Friday to see what his practice status is. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [DAL - QB Dak Prescott to practice on side]( Source: The Dallas Morning News - Michael Gehlken Dallas Cowboys QB [Dak Prescott](=) (thumb) will throw off to the side in the rehab group at practice Wednesday, Oct. 12, and the team is considering him in the rehab phase. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The team is bringing him back slowly and for good reason. They're 4-1 with Cooper Rush as the starter, so there's no need to rush Prescott back. As the week goes on, we should have a better idea of when Prescott can return. Rush is expected to start once again in Week 6. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [WAS - Jahan Dotson ruled out](=) Source: Commanders.com Washington Commanders WR [Jahan Dotson](=) (hamstring) did not practice on Wednesday, Oct. 12, and has been ruled out for Week 6. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] No surprise here. Dotson needs more time to heal. That means Dyami Brown could produce like a 'what the heck' flex on Thursday night against the Bears. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [WAS - TE Logan Thomas ruled out](=) Source: Commanders.com Washington Commanders TE [Logan Thomas](=) (calf) did not practice on Wednesday, Oct. 12, and has been ruled out for Week 6. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's a Thursday night game against the Bears, so the Commanders make this decision early. Fantasy GMs aren't relying on Thomas. It's not because he lacks talent (he doesn't), but it's because he seems to be hurt more often than not. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [MIA - QB Tua Tagovailoa to practice](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Miami Dolphins QB [Tua Tagovailoa](=) (concussion) is expected to get a limited practice Wednesday, Oct. 12, but he's not expected to play in Week 6. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Dolphins are likely to start QB Skylar Thompson in Week 6. Tagovailoa is on his way back after a scary concussion, and there's a chance he could be ready in Week 7. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [MIA - Skylar Thompson likely to start](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Miami Dolphins QB [Skylar Thompson](=) is likely to start in Week 6 against the Minnesota Vikings. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Thompson is a talented rookie quarterback who fell in the draft due to injury concerns from his college days at Kansas State. When healthy, Thompson has all the tools of a modern quarterback. A Matt Waldman favorite, Thompson is an intriguing developmental prospect who is thrust into action. With Tua Tagovailoa perhaps returning in Week 7, it may only be a one-week thing, but there is potential there with Thompson. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [ATL - RB Damien Williams not ready yet](=) Source: AtlantaFalcons.com - Tori McElhaney Atlanta Falcons RB [Damien Williams](=) (rib) is not ready to return to practice yet, head coach Arthur Smith said on Wednesday, Oct. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Williams isn't ready yet, but the Falcons have another Williams - converted CB Avery Williams - they can turn to in the backfield. Last week in a loss to the Buccaneers, Avery Williams had a rushing touchdown. Without Cordarrelle Patterson, the Falcons turn to guys like Tyler Allgeier, Caleb Huntley, and Avery Williams for backfield touches. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [MIA - MIA optimistic on WR Tyreek Hill]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Miami Dolphins WR [Tyreek Hill](=) (foot) has optimism for his status in Week 6 against the Minnesota Vikings. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Having Hill on the field would boost the Dolphins, especially since they're starting rookie QB Skylar Thompson in Week 6. We'll see what Hill can do later in the week with Friday being his most important day of practice. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [IND - RB Jonathan Taylor rehabbing on side]( Source: The Athletic - Zak Keefer Indianapolis Colts RB [Jonathan Taylor](=) (ankle) was off to the side rehabbing during practice on Wednesday, Oct. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Taylor gets some rest on Wednesday, and any extra time for his ankle to heal will be a good thing. Colts head coach Frank Reich told reporters he's "optimistic" that Taylor will play in Week 6. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [IND - RB Nyheim Hines in non-contact jersey]( Source: The Athletic - Zak Keefer Indianapolis Colts RB [Nyheim Hines](=) (concussion) was spotted wearing a red non-contact jersey at practice on Wednesday, Oct. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hines was concussed in last Thursday's game against the Broncos. He'll work through the league concussion protocol this week, and we'll know more about his status for Week 6 on Friday. [LVR - WR Davante Adams has charges filed against him](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Updating previous reports, Las Vegas Raiders WR [Davante Adams](=) was charged with misdemeanor assault following the game Monday, Oct. 10. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Adams may be facing discipline from the league after shoving a photog to the ground after the loss to the Chiefs on Monday night. He apologized for the incident on social media, but there's still a chance Adams could face a suspension from the league due to his behavior. The photog had to be taken to the hospital, and reports indicate he claims to have possibly suffered a minor concussion and whiplash. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [ARI - RB James Conner's status murky](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Arizona Cardinals RB [James Conner](=) (ribs) is dealing with a ribs issue, and his status will be clearer later in the week. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Rib injuries are pain tolerance issues. If Conner has to miss time or needs a lighter workload because of this rib problem, the Cardinals can turn to Eno Benjamin for more snaps. Reports indicate we could see rookie RB Keaontay Ingram get some work this week too. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [SF - RB Tevin Coleman to active roster](=) Source: ESPN.com - Nick Wagoner San Francisco 49ers RB [Tevin Coleman](=) was signed from the practice squad to the active roster Wednesday, Oct. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Coleman makes for a nice 'what the heck' flex in Week 6. He should serve as a primary backup to 49ers' starter Jeff Wilson. Last week, Coleman had 23 yards and a touchdown on eight carries against the Panthers. Against a Falcons rush defense that can be gashed, Fantasy GMs in deeper leagues should be considering Coleman. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [CIN - WR Tee Higgins practicing Wednesday](=) Source: ESPN - Ben Baby Cincinnati Bengals WR [Tee Higgins](=) (ankle) is practicing on Wednesday, Oct. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] That's a good sign for Higgins. Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said Higgins is day-to-day with a sprained ankle. He started last week against the Ravens, but Higgins only played 10 offensive snaps. We'll see if he can get in some more work this week against the Saints. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [PIT - TE Pat Freiermuth does not practice]() Source: Tampa Bay Times - Rick Stroud Pittsburgh Steelers TE [Pat Freiermuth](=) (concussion) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's not a good sign for Freiermuth that he's not practicing on Wednesday. It doesn't count him out, but he's got to work through the concussion protocol which includes getting limited work and then seeing if there are any after-effects. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 17. [CHI - N'Keal Harry taken off injury report]( Source: Chicago Bears PR Chicago Bears WR N'Keal Harry (ankle) practiced in full on Wednesday, Oct. 12, and was removed from the injury report ahead of Week 6. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Harry will be out there for the Bears on Thursday night against the Commanders. The former first-round pick gets a fresh start with the Bears, but we're not overly excited about his potential in this offense. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 18. [NYG - Limited practice for RB Saquon Barkley]() Source: Sirius XM NFL Radio - Adam Caplan New York Giants RB [Saquon Barkley](=) (shoulder) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Barkley gets limited practice, but he's everything the Giants want on offense so expect him to be ready for Week 6. The Giants are at home on Sunday to take on the Ravens in what should be a good game. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 19. [CAR - RB Christian McCaffrey receives day off](=) Source: NFLCommunications.com Carolina Panthers RB [Christian McCaffrey](=) (non-injury) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This isn't anything to worry about but let's make sure he's able to work Thursday. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 20. [BUF - WR Isaiah McKenzie takes part in practice](=) Source: BuffaloBills.com Buffalo Bills WR [Isaiah McKenzie](=) (concussion) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] McKenzie needs to get through the concussion protocol this week. Khalil Shakir has been playing well with McKenzie out of action, and the Bills have no need (nor can they) to rush McKenzie back too soon. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 21. [GB - QB Aaron Rodgers dealing with thumb injury]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Green Bay Packers QB [Aaron Rodgers](=) (thumb) is not practicing on Wednesday, Oct. 12, due to an unspecified thumb injury. However, head coach Matt LaFleur said he isn't concerned about Rodgers' availability for Week 6. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Rodgers has a minor thumb injury and is just getting some extra rest on Wednesday. If this thumb injury were a problem, Rodgers would miss practice time later in the week. Fantasy GMs have Rodgers as a QB1 anytime he's on the football field, including this week at home against the Jets. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 22. [MIA - QB Teddy Bridgewater may be backup QB for Week 6](=) Source: NFL.com Miami Dolphins QB [Teddy Bridgewater](=) (concussion) could be cleared for the Week 6 game, but he would serve as the backup quarterback with QB [Skylar Thompson](=) as the starter, according to head coach Mike McDaniel. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We'll see what the Dolphins decide, but they are undoubtedly going to be cautious with the concussed quarterback.
