[DAL - Jaylon Smith feels 'amazing'](#19) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [BAL - WR Breshad Perriman impressing at OTAs]( Source: The Baltimore Sun - Jeff Zrebiec Baltimore Ravens WR [Breshad Perriman](=) is making his mark at organized team activities. TE [Dennis Pitta](=) said no one on the Ravens is making more plays at OTAs than Perriman. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Perriman is a player to watch so long as he can stay healthy. A first-round pick in 2015, Perriman missed his rookie season due to a knee injury. Last year (also a bit banged up), Perriman had 33 catches for 499 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He's worth taking a late-round flier on just because of his size/speed combination and the lack of proven WRs not named Mike Wallace in Baltimore. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [NE - TE Rob Gronkowski cleared to take field](=) Source: ESPNBoston.com - Mike Reiss New England Patriots TE [Rob Gronkowski](=) (back) has progressed well enough that he has been cleared to take the field for organized team activities. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We're not really worried about Gronkowski, and we think he might have returned quicker last season had Tom Brady not been suspended. He should remain the top fantasy tight end again this season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [DAL - QB Dak Prescott taking the next step]( Source: The Dallas Morning News - Brandon George Dallas Cowboys QB [Dak Prescott](=) has emerged as a more vocal leader entering his second season, and quarterbacks coach Wade Wilson recently said he's seen nothing from Prescott that should worry anyone about the reigning rookie of the year taking his foot off the gas. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Cowboys kept things somewhat simple for Prescott last year, and he'll have to expand what he does this year. They'll still hammer the ball with Ezekiel Elliott and set up play action passing with Prescott. If he's well protected, Prescott can produce consistently at QB1 levels each week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [MIA - RB Jay Ajayi set for huge workload?]() Source: ESPN.com - James Walker Miami Dolphins RB [Jay Ajayi](=) could get as many as 350 rushing attempts if the running back stays healthy and plays all 16 games, according to head coach Adam Gase. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ajayi had a breakout season last year in 2016 with 260 carries for 1,272 yards and eight rushing touchdowns but he didn't really get going until Week 6 against the Steelers. The clear starter from day one this year, Ajayi has a real chance to improve on his numbers from 2016. Fantasy owners should consider him a RB1 with the upside to be a top-5 guy at the position. His current ADP is RB9 (2.04) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [MIA - QB Ryan Tannehill is at full health](=) Source: The Miami Herald - Adam H. Beasley Miami Dolphins QB [Ryan Tannehill](=) (knee) said he is 100 percent healthy now after recovering from his anterior cruciate ligament injury last season. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] That's critical, as is the healthy offensive line. Tannehill needs to be more consistent though, and really show us he can reach the potential he's flashed in the past. He has all the weapons he could ask for and a scheme which should fit him very well. Now Tannehill has to prove he can be the main man. We're iffy on his prospects even with so much talent around him. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [MIN - WR Laquon Treadwell impressing coordinator](=) Source: ESPN.com - Ben Goessling Minnesota Vikings WR [Laquon Treadwell](=) is having a good offseason so far, according to offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur. Treadwell has been 'on point' from a mental standpoint. He has done well route-running, catching the ball and blocking, too. Shurmur said he's pleased with the progress Treadwell has made from a year ago. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] All this is great and we're happy to hear it. However, as Han Solo would say (and we're paraphrasing, so pardon us) but good in shorts and a T-shirt is one thing. Good against the living? That's something else. We're looking to see him perform against actual defenses before we get too carried away. Add in the fact that he has to claw past Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen and we're thinking Treadwell's impact could remain on the low side. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [SEA - QB Colin Kaepernick wants to be in Seattle]( Source: The Huffington Post - Jordan Schultz Free-agent QB [Colin Kaepernick](=) (49ers) said he wants to be with the Seattle Seahawks and doesn't mind backing up QB [Russell Wilson](=). His meeting with the Seahawks went very well, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We think this would be a great fit. On the field, the offense plays to Kaepernick's strengths and would help cover some of his weaknesses. Off the field, Seattle is a generally liberal town and his kneeling - which he isn't even doing anymore - won't cause much angst. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [WAS - WR Josh Doctson impressing]( Source: ESPN.com - John Keim Washington Redskins WR [Josh Doctson](=) (Achilles') has been impressive in organized team activities, according to head coach Jay Gruden. 'The big thing for him is the confidence in his Achilles', and I think he's got that right now,' Gruden said. 'The past two days he's looked better and better. It looks like he can run down the field. He made a good catch down the sideline today and (he has) strong hands, we know that about him.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Doctson had tweeted out he was close to 100 percent back in March, so this is continued good news. A lot of folks thought he was the best receiver in the 2016 NFL Draft, but his Achilles injury hurt his draft stock. With DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon gone, Doctson only has Terrelle Pryor to jump over for a significant amount of targets. He'll start behind Jordan Reed and Jamison Crowder in terms of target distribution, but that can change with a solid preseason. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [MIN - WR Laquon Treadwell running with the first team]() Source: Minneapolis Star Tribune - Matt Vensel Minnesota Vikings WR [Laquon Treadwell](=) has reported the run with the first-team offense alongside [Stefon Diggs](=) and [Adam Thielen](=) during OTAs, according to Minneapolis Star Tribune's Matt Vensel. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Vikings brought Treadwell along slowly, and they could do that because Diggs and Thielen were so good. It's going to be hard for Treadwell to push his way into the mix but we like what he brings to the table but he has to show more consistency and better execution than he did last season and now has Michael Floyd to compete with as well. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [CHI - WR Kevin White working on basics](=) Source: Chicago Tribune - Rich Campbell Chicago Bears WR [Kevin White](=) has spent the last few months working to align his stride after a stress fracture in his left tibia ruined his rookie season and a left fibular spiral fracture and severe ankle ligament damage cost him 12 games last season, according to the Chicago Tribune's Rich Campbell. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] White has a lot to catch up on after missing his rookie season in 2015. A first-round pick in 2015, White needed to refine his route-running ability coming out of college...and that's still the case. He should be considered a potentially high upside WR5 for fantasy owners. White will compete for targets with Cameron Meredith in the starting lineup. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [NO - WR Michael Thomas has put on weight]() Source: NewOrleansSaints.com - John DeShazier New Orleans Saints WR [Michael Thomas](=) has added some extra weight this offseason, increasing from 210 pounds to 220 pounds. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The added weight should help Thomas absorb the punishment of the NFL. It may also help him push around defenders that will be much smaller. With Brandin Cooks (Patriots) gone, Thomas should once again finish as a top-10 fantasy WR (he was 9th last year in standard leagues). [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [DEN - WR Demaryius Thomas feels better than ever]() Source: The Denver Post - Nicki Jhabvala Denver Broncos WR [Demaryius Thomas](=) said he's feeling the best he's felt in his entire career. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Thomas was not himself last year as he struggled through hip problems and an injury he sustained on the first play in Week 1 of 2016. A healthy Thomas in a Mike McCoy offense crafted to help him be dominant, means the veteran could bounce back as a top-15 fantasy WR in 2017 (he was 18th in standard leagues last year). [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [BAL - TE Maxx Williams had surgery]( Source: The Baltimore Sun - Jeff Zrebiec Baltimore Ravens TE [Maxx Williams](=) (knee) underwent knee surgery this offseason, according to head coach John Harbaugh. Williams is recovering well and is expected to be ready for training camp. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A second-round pick in 2015, Williams has seen his pro career held back by injuries and inconsistencies. He'll be ready for camp (most likely) but the Ravens are stacked at the position. Williams will compete for targets with Ben Watson, Dennis Pitta and Crockett Gillmore. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [BUF - TE Charles Clay's knee a concern]() Source: The Buffalo News - Vic Carucci Buffalo Bills TE [Charles Clay](=)'s (knee) ailing knee continues to be an issue. Head coach Sean McDermott said the knee is a concern to the Bills and something they'll keep an eye on going forward. Clay has participated in drills, but the Bills are taking a cautious approach with his workload. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Clay's never been a fantasy force, so the wider impact of this is negligible, but it does throw the Bills offensive plans a bit askew, as they liked to use Clay as a blocker and in shorter down and distance. We'll keep watching this, and it's possible they acquire another player. Gary Barnidge could be a solid fit here and he is available. It's a signing that would work better in the NFL than in fantasy though, as the Bills just don't lean on their tight end a ton. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [NYG - Odell Beckham absent Thursday]( Source: NFL Network - Kimberly Jones New York Giants WR [Odell Beckham Jr](=). was absent from voluntary workouts again Thursday, May 25. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] He's very busy hanging out with Johnny Manziel and signing Nike contracts. Listen, Beckham Jr has the timing with Eli Manning down. Skipping OTAs won't hurt that. But the optics are less than awesome considering our last two impressions of him were 1) a boat trip right before a 2) playoff game he was terrible in. We hope Beckham Jr has grown up as his talent is undeniable and the only thing stopping him is himself. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [MIA - WR Jarvis Landry participating](=) Source: Sun-Sentinel - Chris Perkins Miami Dolphins WR [Jarvis Landry](=) is participating in organized team activities Thursday, May 25. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We're happy to see him in the fold and ready to go. We once again expect great things from Landry in terms of yards, but are hoping he manages to find the end zone more often. We're also hoping Ryan Tannehill finally has it all click and the offensive line gives him to find Landry more in the red zone. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 17. [OAK - RB Marshawn Lynch not participating]( Source: ESPN.com - Paul Gutierrez Oakland Raiders RB [Marshawn Lynch](=) isn't participating in organized team activities, but he has been present this week getting acquainted with teammates. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We love the idea of Lynch behind this offensive line, but if Derek Carr is healthy the Raiders will throw the ball a lot, which could limit Lynch's upside. He's also had a year off of football, so what shape he's in and how he handles transitioning back into things will also impact his numbers. That said, if Lynch is motivated as he has been in Seattle, he could have a really nice season and will face few stacked boxes. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 18. [CLE - Cleveland adds Ryan Grigson to front office](=) Source: ClevelandBrowns.com Former Indianapolis Colts general manager Ryan Grigson was hired by the Cleveland Browns as a senior personnel executive Wednesday, May 24. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Grigson failed during his five years as GM of the Colts, but he goes to Cleveland to reunite with VP of Player Personnel Andrew Berry. He was Berry's boss in Indy, but now things will be the other way around. Grigson has plenty of experience in the scouting community and that should come in handy for the Browns. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 19. [DAL - Jaylon Smith feels 'amazing']( Source: The Dallas Morning News - Jon Machota Dallas Cowboys LB Jaylon Smith (knee) claims he can able to do everything that's been asked of him by the Cowboys coaching and training staffs. He also told reporters there's nothing he was able to do before his knee injury that he can't do now. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Cowboys are optimistic about Smith's recovery, and he believes that he'll be ready for the season opener against the Giants. Smith had top-10 talent, but he fell to the second round of the 2016 NFL draft due to a serious knee injury suffered in Notre Dame's bowl game. He missed his entire rookie year as he recovered from the injury and the team monitored the nerves in his leg. As we get closer to training camp, we'll know more about where Smith is at in his recovery.
