[DAL - RB Ezekiel Elliott expected back next week]() Source: The Dallas Morning News - Brandon George Dallas Cowboys RB [Ezekiel Elliott](=) (head) is expected to participate in organized team activities next week, according to head coach Jason Garrett. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Cowboys are taking it easy on Elliott after this minor car crash that caused a minor head injury. It seems like a major injury was dodged here. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [LAR - WR Robert Woods to lead team in catches?]( Source: ESPN.com - Alden Gonzalez Los Angeles Rams WR [Robert Woods](=) is 'perhaps the best bet to lead the (team) in catches,' according to ESPN's Alden Gonzalez. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Woods has been waiting for an opportunity to show that he can be more than a no2 WR like he was in Buffalo. With Kenny Britt (Browns) moving on in free agency, the Rams should see Woods as the no1 WR and he could become a favorite for QB Jared Goff. Taking a late-round flier on Woods isn't a bad idea. His current ADP is WR71 (14.07) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [NYJ - QB Christian Hackenberg impressing](=) Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter New York Jets QB Christian Hackenberg impressed the team with how he looked this offseason. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Jets QB battle is not one that will result in fantasy gold. Hackenberg was a second-round pick out of Penn State last year, but he couldn't see the field as a rookie...even as the team trotted out Ryan Fitzpatrick and Bryce Petty. This year, Hackenberg will compete with Petty and veteran free agent addition Josh McCown for the top spot on the depth chart. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [MIN - QB Teddy Bridgewater meets with doctor]( Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Minnesota Vikings QB [Teddy Bridgewater](=) (knee) recently had a positive meeting with his doctors and has received clearance to progress in his rehab and start moving from side-to-side. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Bridgewater was dropping back and throwing in drills this week for the Vikings. It seems like he's making good progress as he comes back from the horrific knee injury that eliminated his entire 2016 season. Even in a best case scenario, Bridgewater is likely to only be a reserve behind Sam Bradford. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [DET - RB Ameer Abdullah looks good at workout]() Source: DetroitLions.com - Mike O'Hara Detroit Lions RB [Ameer Abdullah](=) (foot) accelerated through openings and changed direction without breaking stride during organized team activities Wednesday, May 24. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Good news for Abdullah here. He's coming back from a foot injury that limited him to two games in 2016. Abdullah is likely to be the Lions featured back this year, even though he'll be splitting time in the backfield with Zach Zenner and Theo Riddick. He's got a current ADP of RB27 (6.06) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [SEA - QB Colin Kaepernick only meeting with SEA](=) Source: SiriusXM Radio - Adam Caplan Updating previous reports, free-agent QB [Colin Kaepernick](=) (49ers) is meeting with the Seattle Seahawks Wednesday, May 24, but is not working out for the team, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] With so much film on Kaepernick, it's not like the Seahawks need to see him work out. They'll need to see if he can pass a physical and see how much he tips the scale. That's about it. They need a better backup behind Russell Wilson, and Kaepernick would give them just that. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [CLE - WR Kenny Britt misses practice]() Source: Akron Beacon Journal - Nate Ulrich Cleveland Browns WR [Kenny Britt](=) (undisclosed) did not participate in organized team activities Wednesday, May 24, but head coach Hue Jackson said he expects Britt will be back on the field next week. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Britt is going to be the top WR for the Browns in 2017 after signing a four-year, $32.5 million contract earlier this year. Coming off the first 1,000 yard season of is career, Britt will have to overcome bad QB play (again) in order to match or best that production. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [CLE - WR Corey Coleman shaken up]( Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot Cleveland Browns WR [Corey Coleman](=) (undisclosed) suffered an undisclosed injury during organized team activities Wednesday, May 24, after he landed on the football hard during drills. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It sounds like Coleman had the wind knocked out of him. Head coach Hue Jackson said Coleman will be fine. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [NE - New England set to add WR Andrew Hawkins](=) Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Free-agent WR [Andrew Hawkins](=) (Browns) is close to signing a one-year deal with the New England Patriots, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hawkins wanted to sign with a contender...and there's no team with a better chance of winning the Super Bowl than the New England Patriots. He's got the perfect skill set for a Patriots WR. Hawkins is lightning quick and can break ankles after the catch. He'll compete for a roster spot behind Julian Edelman, Brandin Cooks and Chris Hogan. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [GB - RB Ty Montgomery has a better understanding]() Source: Packers.com - Wes Hodkiewicz Green Bay Packers RB [Ty Montgomery](=) has a better understanding of the mental aspect of being a running back and admitted that he ran a lot on instincts last season. 'I was running a lot on instincts. I knew where I was supposed to be going, but it was instinct,' Montgomery said. 'Now, I know techniques. I know rotations and linebacker positions, and fronts and understanding gap rules and what the defense is supposed to be doing. Now when I get out there, I know my reads and my aiming points and I can just add that to my instincts. I'm excited to do that.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Montgomery has to be considered the frontrunner for the starting RB job in Green Bay...for now. He's going to be facing some quality competition this summer for that top spot on the depth chart. Rookies Jamaal Williams (4th round, BYU) and Aaron Jones (5th round, UTEP) are likely to push Montgomery for the starting gig. We like Williams because of his power and intent running style. When all is said and done, don't be surprised to see the Packers implement a RBBC featuring all three backs. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [LAC - Mike Williams falling behind]( Source: ESPN.com - Eric D. Williams Los Angeles Chargers WR [Mike Williams](=) (back) is falling behind, according to head coach Anthony Lynn, who'd like to see him back on the field next week. 'If he wasn't a rookie it would be different,' Lynn said. 'But he has so much to learn, and some of this you can only learn on the field.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Williams injured his back in the first practice of rookie minicamp and has been out ever since. Lynn is just being honest when he comments on the rookie WR falling behind. Williams is a dynamic player and can make crazy catches that others just dream of. He's not fast or a savvy route-runner and could be using this time to establish chemistry with QB Philip Rivers. Williams reminded many in the scouting community of Plaxico Burress because of his size, wingspan and 'my ball' mentality. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [TB - O.J. Howard contract details](=) Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson Updating a previous report, Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE O.J. Howard's four-year contract is worth $11.094 million. The deal includes a $6.208 million signing bonus. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Howard has the size/strength/speed combination to be a force on the football field. The Bucs picked him in the first round with the idea that he could be a big part of the passing game. Howard is a mismatch every time he steps onto the field, but the targets are going to be split between WRs Mike Evans and DeSean Jackson, Howard and fellow TE Cameron Brate. The potential TEBC could hold back Howard's fantasy potential in 2017. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [MIA - Charles Harris signs contract]() Source: MiamiDolphins.com Miami Dolphins first-round draft choice DE Charles Harris signed his four-year contract Wednesday, May 24. Financial terms were not disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A first-round pick out of Missouri, Harris has the build and skill set of a pass rushing phenom. He's got great athleticism and footwork off the edge, but the rookie should not be asked to stuff the run. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [DAL - WR Cole Beasley dealing with injury]() Source: The Dallas Morning News - Brandon George Dallas Cowboys WR [Cole Beasley](=) (hamstring) has not been able to participate in organized team activities this week because of a hamstring injury. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hamstring injuries are known to linger if not given enough to heal. Beasley is going to get work as the team's no3 WR again this year. He's a WR5 for fantasy owners with a current ADP of WR52 (12.01) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [DAL - Taco Charlton works with starter]() Source: The Dallas Morning News - Brandon George Dallas Cowboys DE Taco Charlton worked with the first-team defense at right defensive end during organized team activities Wednesday, May 24. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Not a surprise here. Charlton was selected in the first round of the 2017 NFL draft with the idea that he could make an immediate impact as a pass rusher. At 6'6" 277 pounds, Charlton has the length and the strength to be a handful on the edge. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [CLE - Myles Garrett sitting out workouts]() Source: Akron Beacon Journal - Nate Ulrich Cleveland Browns DE Myles Garrett (undisclosed) is not participating in organized team activities this week because of a minor undisclosed injury but expects to be a full participant next week. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Garrett was the top pick in the 2017 NFL draft, and he reminds many in the scouting community of Julius Peppers. He can make an immediate impact for the Browns in 2017. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 17. [ARI - WR Jaron Brown taking part in drills](=) Source: AZCardinals.com - Kyle Odegard Arizona Cardinals WR [Jaron Brown](=) (knee) is participating in individual drills during organized team activities Wednesday, May 24. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] He is recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament he suffered in October of 2016. Jaron Brown is competing for the no3 WR job behind Larry Fitzgerald and John Brown. He should be good to go for team activities in training camp. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 18. [NYJ - S Calvin Pryor back at practice]() Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini New York Jets SS Calvin Pryor was on the field for organized team activities Wednesday, May 24, after he skipped the workout Tuesday, May 23. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Pryor is back with the team, but for how long remains a mystery. The Jets didn't pick up his fifth-year option, then they selected two safeties in the first two rounds of the 2017 NFL draft. Pryor is on the books for $1.6 million this year and all of that is fully guaranteed. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 19. [CIN - CB Dre Kirkpatrick sidelined 2-3 weeks]() Source: ESPN.com - Katherine Terrell Cincinnati Bengals CB Dre Kirkpatrick (hand) expects to be out of practice for the next two to three weeks after suffering a small fracture on his right hand. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Signed to a five-year, $52.5 million contract earlier this year Kirkpatrick suffered the injury in what he describes as a "freak accident." He'll be out there for training camp and should have no problem when Week 1 of the regular season rolls around. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 20. [CAR - WR Devin Funchess sits out]( Source: Panthers.com - Max Henson Carolina Panthers WR [Devin Funchess](=) (ankle) is being held out of drills Wednesday, May 24, due to a rolled ankle. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] There's a lot of question marks around Funchess as he enters his third season in the pros. His numbers didn't go up last year (23-371-4) after posting 31-473-5 as a rookie in 2015. He ended the 2016 season on IR due to a late-season knee injury, and now he'll miss valuable time with this ankle injury. With the addition of pass-catching weapons like RB Christian McCaffrey and WR Curtis Samuel, the targets for Funchess could keep dwindling. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 21. [CAR - ILB Luke Kuechly held out]( Source: Panthers.com - Max Henson Carolina Panthers LB Luke Kuechly (back) is being held out of drills Wednesday, May 24, due to lower back tightness. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Kuechly is a pros pro, so there's no need to have him out there if he's a bit banged up. The Panthers will wisely monitor the veteran, just like they did when they held him out the final six games of the regular season due to a concussion. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 22. [WAS - RB Matt Jones won't attend OTAs]( Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Washington Redskins RB [Matt Jones](=) won't attend organized team activities, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Not really a surprise here. Jones was a healthy scratch for all but seven games last year and the team has moved on with guys like Rob Kelley and rookie Samaje Perine. Add in Chris Thompson as a change-of-pace back and you can see how there's no room for Jones. He'll be traded or released and try to latch on with another team in the NFL.
