News and Notes from around the league  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ [Footballguys Email Updates](=) [Go PRO]( | [View Online](=) [Unsubscribe]( | [Sign Up]() [Footballguys.com](=)Daily Email Update • Vol. 24, #169 • Sep. 25th[,](=) 2022 --------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks To Our Sponsor, [Monkey Knife Fight]( Howdy {NAME}, Welcome to Monday. [MIN - RB Dalvin Cook dislocates shoulder]() Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings RB [Dalvin Cook](=) (shoulder) suffered a dislocated shoulder during the Week 3 game, but team hopes he will be able to play in Week 4 while wearing a harness on his shoulder, according to sources. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Cook has had huge games against the Saints in the 2019-20 playoffs and the Steelers on Monday night last year while playing with a harness, so if that's the case next week, you should leave him in your lineup. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [PHI - WR DeVonta Smith has monster outing](=) Source: ESPN.com Philadelphia Eagles WR [DeVonta Smith](=) caught eight of his 12 targets for 169 yards and a touchdown in a 24-8 win over the Washington Commanders in Week 3. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] With Jalen Hurts feeling more comfortable in the offense, DeVonta Smith was the beneficiary. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [CIN - QB Joe Burrow tosses three touchdowns](=) Source: ESPN Cincinnati Bengals QB [Joe Burrow](=) completed 23-of-36 passes for 275 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 3 against the New York Jets, and he ran five times for zero yards. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Burrow was more conservative, but did create on some extended plays and benefited from a broken tackle that Tyler Boyd turned into a long touchdown. The Bengals offense has righted the ship against the Jets just in time for a showdown with the 3-0 Dolphins on Thursday night. Burrow is a borderline QB1 because of the matchup and short week of rest, but probably belongs in lineups. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [BAL - QB Lamar Jackson accounts for five TDs](=) Source: NFL.com Baltimore Ravens QB [Lamar Jackson](=) went 18-for-29 for 218 yards, four touchdowns and one interception against the New England Patriots in Week 3. He also rushed for 107 yards and one touchdown on 11 carries during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jackson has picked up where he left off last year as a passer even without Marquise Brown, and he is as dangerous as ever as a runner. He, Josh Allen, and Jalen Hurts have all been worth very high picks, higher than they went in most drafts. The Ravens will get the Bills defense next week in the toughest test for Jackson yet. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [NE - QB Mac Jones suffers injury]() Source: NFL.com New England Patriots QB [Mac Jones](=) (leg) suffered an apparent leg injury during the Week 3 game. Head coach Bill Belichick said he did not have an update on Jones' status after the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jones gave it all today and actually looked semi-athletic on a few scrambles. New England faces a very tough Green Bay defense next week. We'll be watching the practice reports closely as the Patriots tell us as little as they can about their injured player statuses. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [CIN - WR Tyler Boyd shines in Week 3](=) Source: ESPN Cincinnati Bengals WR [Tyler Boyd](=) posted four grabs for 105 yards and a touchdown on five targets in Week 3 against the New York Jets. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Boyd broke free for a 56-yard touchdown when he escaped a tackle attempt. He also had a shovel pass touchdown called back or it could have been an even bigger day for him. This result keeps Boyd in play as a WR3/Flex against the Dolphins on Thursday night with Ja'Marr Chase likely drawing Xavien Howard. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [NO - Chris Olave shows out in Week 3](=) Source: ESPN New Orleans Saints WR [Chris Olave](=) registered nine receptions for 147 yards on 13 targets in Week 3 against the Carolina Panthers. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The injuries to Michael Thomas and Jarvis Landry and come from behind game script only intensified Jameis Winston's focus on Olave. He's a high ceiling WR3/Flex against the Vikings next week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [NE - WR DeVante Parker has breakout game](=) Source: NFL.com New England Patriots WR [DeVante Parker](=) caught five passes for 156 yards against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3. He was targeted 10 times during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Parker was featured with Jakobi Meyers sitting and Mac Jones did a terrific job allowing Parker to win with body control on contested catches and high degree of difficult plays. Jones status next week is uncertain and Meyers could also return, but this should at least make Parker worth a pickup to see if this trend continues, or if it just revealed that we'll want to target Ravens corners when we set our lineups until their pass defense improves. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [PHI - QB Jalen Hurts carves up Washington](=) Source: ESPN.com Philadelphia Eagles QB [Jalen Hurts](=) completed 22 of his 35 passes for 340 yards and three touchdowns and rushed nine times for 20 yards in a 24-8 win over the Washington Commanders in Week 3. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hurts seemed comfortable and in control of this offense as the Eagles rolled. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [MIA - RB Chase Edmonds scores twice in win](=) Source: ESPN.com Miami Dolphins RB [Chase Edmonds](=) rushed six times for 21 yards and two touchdowns and caught one pass for six yards in a 21-19 win over the Buffalo Bills in Week 3. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Edmonds didn't see the ball that often but made the most of his touches. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [DET - RB Jamaal Williams scores pair of TDs](=) Source: ESPN Detroit Lions RB [Jamaal Williams](=) rushed 20 times for 87 yards and two touchdowns in Week 3 against the Minnesota Vikings, and he added two receptions for 20 yards on his two targets. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Once again, Williams benefitted from a long play getting the ball close to the goal line. Amon-Ra St. Brown made a nice play and Williams took it in for the score. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [HOU - Dameon Pierce reaches end zone]() Source: NFL.com Houston Texans RB [Dameon Pierce](=) rushed for 80 yards and one touchdown on 20 carries against the Chicago Bears in Week 3. He also caught two passes for 21 yards during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Pierce was expected to be a bigger part of the offense in a manageable game for the Texans, and he was. He ran with the energy we saw in the preseason and gave us confidence to play him as an RB2, even in a tough game against the Chargers next week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [KC - TE Travis Kelce reaches end zone]() Source: NFL.com Kansas City Chiefs TE [Travis Kelce](=) caught four passes for 58 yards and one touchdown against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 3. He was targeted eight times during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Kelce had a two-point conversion that probably should not have stood upon review to help his fantasy day. The Colts were hitting him hard and not letting Kelce get open often. Kelce will need to have a big game against the Bucs in the Super Bowl rematch next week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [NO - Tre'Quan Smith hits century mark](=) Source: ESPN New Orleans Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith posted four grabs for 105 yards on five targets in Week 3 against the Carolina Panthers. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Smith got in the field in relief of Michael Thomas and Jarvis Landry and made an impact downfield. He'll be on the waiver wire radar in deep leagues if the news isn't good on Landry or Thomas. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [BAL - Nine touches for RB J.K. Dobbins](=) Source: NFL.com Baltimore Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins rushed for 23 yards on seven carries against the New England Patriots in Week 3. He also caught two passes for 17 yards during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It was good to see Dobbins back out there, but he doesn't look like more than a what the heck flex right now. Justice Hill is playing well enough to force his way into the backfield and Gus Edwards will be back eventually. Hold onto Dobbins, but don't use him against the Bills next week if you can help it. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [BAL - WR Devin Duvernay finds end zone](=) Source: NFL.com Baltimore Ravens WR [Devin Duvernay](=) caught two passes for 25 yards and one touchdown against the New England Patriots in Week 3. He was targeted two times during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Duvernay has four touchdowns this year. He had his second touchdown on a ball with basically zero separation, so Lamar Jackson will continue to trust him even when coverage is tight. Duvernay is only rosterable in deep dynasty right now, but he's only 25 and his game could grow. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 17. [CIN - RB Joe Mixon bottled up in Week 3](=) Source: ESPN Cincinnati Bengals RB [Joe Mixon](=) carried 12 times for just 24 yards in Week 3 against the New York Jets and he added three grabs for 14 yards on his seven targets. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Mixon was a dud this week, but his reduced workload was because the Bengals didn't need him once they opened a big lead in the fourth quarter. He's still a low-end RB1 heading into a matchup with the Dolphins. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 18. [BAL - Two touchdowns for TE Mark Andrews](=) Source: NFL.com Baltimore Ravens TE [Mark Andrews](=) caught eight passes for 89 yards and two touchdowns against the New England Patriots in Week 3. He was targeted 13 times during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Andrews scored on a shovel pass and a terrific grab with Devin McCourty draped all over him. Lamar Jackson is playing at a very high level and Andrews is encouraging targets with his play, so this pick is working out well so far. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 19. [LVR - WR Mack Hollins blows up in Week 3](=) Source: ESPN Las Vegas Raiders WR [Mack Hollins](=) posted eight receptions for 158 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets and he completed a 4-yard pass, too. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hollins seemed to be all over the field in this game and in synch with QB Derek Carr. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 20. [CIN - RB Samaje Perine steps up in Week 3](=) Source: ESPN Cincinnati Bengals RB [Samaje Perine](=) rushed nine times for 47 yards in Week 3 against the New York Jets, while adding two receptions for 14 yards and a touchdown on his two targets. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Perine's carries game when the game was decided, but he was effective and helped the Bengals keep the ball for a bit when the Jets were trying to mount another impossible comeback. He's clearly ahead of Chris Evans and the back we should remember if Joe Mixon goes down. [JAX - QB Trevor Lawrence tosses three TDs](=) Source: ESPN.com Jacksonville Jaguars QB [Trevor Lawrence](=) completed 28 of his 39 passes for 262 yards and three touchdowns and added seven rushing yards in a 38-10 win over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 3. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Lawrence continues to progress as a quarterback. He clearly seems more comfortable and productive. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 22. [NE - RB Damien Harris picks up rushing TD](=) Source: NFL.com New England Patriots RB [Damien Harris](=) rushed for 41 yards and one touchdown on 11 carries against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3. He also caught two passes for five yards during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Harris has been a solid flex play thus far this year with the Patriots offense improving after having to face the Dolphins and Steelers the first two weeks. He's probably on the fringe of flex plays because of the matchup against the Packers next week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 23. [CHI - QB Justin Fields struggles in Week 3]() Source: NFL.com Chicago Bears QB [Justin Fields](=) went 8-for-17 for 106 yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions against the Houston Texans in Week 3. He also rushed for 47 yards on eight carries during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's time to move on from Fields in one quarterback leagues. This matchup should have equaled more pass success or at least more trust from the coaching staff, but instead the team remained run heavy and toothless in the passing game. Even a steady diet of rushing attempts won't make Fields's fantasy boat float. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 24. [CHI - Two touchdowns for RB Khalil Herbert]() Source: NFL.com Chicago Bears RB [Khalil Herbert](=) rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries against the Houston Texans in Week 3. He also caught two passes for 12 yards during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Herbert was unstoppable once David Montgomery went down. He and Alexander Mattison are both waiver pickups of the highest priority if they are available. Herbert will get to run at the Giants front next week with Montgomery doubtful at best after never really having a chance to come back in after getting hurt this week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 25. [MIN - WR Justin Jefferson nearly invisible](=) Source: ESPN Minnesota Vikings WR [Justin Jefferson](=) posted three grabs for 14 yards on six targets in Week 3 against the Detroit Lions. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jefferson clearly draws attention and in this game, QB Kirk Cousins tried to spread the ball to other receivers. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 26. [IND - Michael Pittman catches eight passes]() Source: NFL.com Indianapolis Colts WR [Michael Pittman](=) Jr. caught eight passes for 72 yards against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3. He was targeted nine times during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Pittman didn't have any big plays downfield, but he looked healthy after missing Week 2 with a quad injury and his quarterback earned some confidence in the fourth quarter. Pittman should be considered a must start against the Titans next week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 27. [CAR - WR D.J. Moore limited to three touches](=) Source: ESPN Carolina Panthers WR [D.J. Moore](=) posted just one grab for two yards on his team-high six targets in Week 3 against the New Orleans Saints, and he added two runs for 13 yards. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It is unthinkable to drop Moore and he could remind us of how considerable his talent is next week against the Cardinals, but it's also resonable to keep him on fantasy benches until he and Baker Mayfield establish a reliable connection. This season to date has gone about as bad as it could have for Moore's fantasy prospects. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 28. [DET - WR Amon-Ra St. Brown able to finish up](=) Source: ESPN Detroit Lions WR [Amon-Ra St. Brown](=) (ankle) posted six grabs for 73 yards on nine targets in Week 3 against the Minnesota Vikings. He left the game briefly due to an ankle injury, but was able to re-enter and finish up. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It was great to see St. Brown come back into the game as there was fear the injury that caused him to leave was significant. Looks like things are ok there. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 29. [HOU - QB Davis Mills finishes with 245 yards]() Source: NFL.com Houston Texans QB [Davis Mills](=) went 20-for-32 for 245 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions against the Chicago Bears in Week 3. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Mills had a few regrettable decisions that cost the Texans a chance to win, but he spread the ball around and kept the offense viable on the road. He's still a bottom of the barrel QB2/Superflex with the tough Chargers defense up next. Mills might not give us a consistent fantasy receiver in the passing game, but he is effective enough to keep teams from keying on Dameon Pierce and the run game. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 30. [KC - QB Patrick Mahomes throws for 262 yards]() Source: NFL.com Kansas City Chiefs QB [Patrick Mahomes](=) went 20-for-35 for 262 yards one touchdown and one interception against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 3. He also rushed for 26 yards on four carries during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Mahomes was seen arguing with offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy at the end of the first half. The Chiefs had little sustained success on offense on an afternoon when the Colts played inspired defense without their leader Shaquille Leonard. The Chiefs offense looked like the more frustrating version in the first half of last season when they were still adjusting to how defenses were taking away the big play with a cover two alignment. The Bucs are up next week, so the frustration may continue. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 31. [CAR - Another so-so day for QB Baker Mayfield](=) Source: ESPN Carolina Panthers QB [Baker Mayfield](=) completed 12-of-25 passes for 170 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Week 3 against the New Orleans Saints. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Give the Saints defense some credit, but Mayfield has been weak sauce this year and looks more like a backup than a starter - just ask anyone who drafted D.J. Moore. Mayfield is only a desperation play in 2QB/Superflex, but could get right against the Cardinals next week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 32. [CHI - RB David Montgomery rushes for 11 yards]() Source: NFL.com Chicago Bears RB [David Montgomery](=) rushed for 11 yards on three carries against the Houston Texans in Week 3. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Montgomery left officially with a "knee/ankle" injury and was immediately classified as doubtful to return. He's almost surely out next week and could even be an injured reserve (minimum four weeks out) candidate, depending on the severity of the injury. He also might return to a committee instead of a starting job with Khalil Herbert running strong in relief of Montgomery. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 33. [BAL - WR Rashod Bateman finishes with 59 yards](=) Source: NFL.com Baltimore Ravens WR [Rashod Bateman](=) caught two passes for 59 yards against the New England Patriots in Week 3. He was targeted four times during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Bateman fumbled on one of his catches and didn't reel in a deep score this week, so he was a slight disappointment. Lamar Jackson is dealing and weeks like this should be expected from a downfield threat like Bateman in an offense that isn't going to be among the league leaders in pass attempts. He's a boom/bust WR3/Flex with the Bills defense that just contained Tyreek Hill up next week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 34. [TEN - RB Derrick Henry rumbles for 85 yards, TD](=) Source: ESPN Tennessee Titans RB [Derrick Henry](=) registered 20 carries for 85 yards and a touchdown in Week 3 against the Las Vegas Raiders, while adding five grabs for 58 yards and six targets. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Henry looked more like his old self in this one breaking away and into the second level on plays. [BUF - QB Josh Allen throws for 400 yards in loss](=) Source: ESPN.com Buffalo Bills QB [Josh Allen](=) completed 42 of his 63 pass attempts for 400 yards and two touchdowns and rushed eight times for 47 yards in a 21-19 loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 3. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Allen battled and racked up yards, but in the end, it wasn't enough to beat Miami. After the game, he received X-rays to check on a hand issue but told reporters afterward he was fine. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 36. [CAR - RB Christian McCaffrey goes over 100 yards](=) Source: ESPN Carolina Panthers RB [Christian McCaffrey](=) rushed 25 times for 108 yards and no touchdowns in Week 3 against the New Orleans Saints, and he added two grabs for seven yards on four targets. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] McCaffrey is the engine of the offense, but the Panthers aren't targeting him enough by design to justify his lofty cost in fantasy drafts. There's nothing wrong with McCaffrey, but his usage and Baker Mayfield's limitations are going to keep him in the RB1 pack instead of leading it. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 37. [KC - Twelve touches for RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire]() Source: NFL.com Kansas City Chiefs RB [Clyde Edwards-Helaire](=) caught five passes for 39 yards against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 3. He also rushed for zero yards and one touchdown on seven carries during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Edwards-Helaire isn't a clear lead back, but he has three scores through three weeks and he was more involved in the passing game today, almost scoring on one of his receptions. He's a PPR RB2 against the Bucs next week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 38. [NE - RB Rhamondre Stevenson plays well in Week 3](=) Source: NFL.com New England Patriots RB [Rhamondre Stevenson](=) rushed for 73 yards and one touchdown on 12 carries against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3. He also caught four passes for 28 yards during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Stevenson looked like the better of the two Patriots backs in this one and got better as the game went on. This is still a committee with Damien Harris and next week may be a game to leave both on your bench, but Stevenson's value is clearly rising. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 39. [KC - WR JuJu Smith-Schuster leads team in receiving]() Source: NFL.com Kansas City Chiefs WR [JuJu Smith-Schuster](=) caught five passes for 89 yards against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 3. He was targeted eight times during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Smith-Schuster broke free for a long gain, but he was still targeted mostly in the short/intermediate range. He's a low ceiling WR3/Flex heading into a matchup with Tampa Bay. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 40. [IND - RB Jonathan Taylor finishes with 91 total yards]() Source: NFL.com Indianapolis Colts RB [Jonathan Taylor](=) rushed for 71 yards on 21 carries against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3. He also caught three passes for 20 yards during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Chiefs defense stood tall against Taylor as the Colts were dedicated to getting him going in this close game. Taylor never got into the third level of the defense to threaten a game breaking play, but the win and improved play from Matt Ryan in crunch time should help the team turn things around, which will improve Taylor's outlook, including next week against the Titans.
