[KC - PK Harrison Butker not practicing Wednesday](#20) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [LAC - QB Justin Herbert update](=) Source: NFL.com - Bridget Condon Los Angeles Chargers QB [Justin Herbert](=) (ribs) looked like his normal self while throwing on Tuesday, Sept. 20, per source on Wednesday, Sept. 21. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Last week after the Thursday night loss to the Chiefs, Chargers head coach Brandon Staley said Herbert had fractured rib cartilage and is "day to day." That's good news for Herbert, but we imagine this ribs injury will have to be monitored as the week of practice goes on. Keep an eye on his practice status just to make sure Herbert is going to be out there in Week 3 against the Jaguars. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [TB - WR Mike Evans' suspension upheld]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Updating previous reports, Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR [Mike Evans](=)' one-game suspension was upheld Wednesday, Sept. 21. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Zero surprise here. It's not great news for the Buccaneers as they play the Green Bay Packers in Week 3. They're down Evans, and they still may be without WRs Chris Godwin and Julio Jones. We should see continued usage of WR Breshad Perriman in the Evans' role against the Packers. That also means recently signed WR Cole Beasley could get called up from the practice squad. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [DET - D'Andre Swift feeling better]( Source: MLive.com - Kyle Meinke Detroit Lions RB D'Andre Swift (ankle) is feeling better than he did last week after playing through an unspecified ankle injury in Week 2. '[He's] certainly better than he was this time last week,' head coach Dan Campbell said on Wednesday, Sept. 21. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Swift had Fantasy GMs scared last week during practice as he was somewhat limited. He shook off his ankle concerns and posted strong numbers in Week 2 even though his snaps were somewhat limited. Swift rushed five times for 56 yards in the Lions' Week 2 win over the Commanders, adding two receptions for an additional 31 yards and one touchdown. We like him as a low-end RB1 in Week 3 against the Vikings. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [DAL - WR Michael Gallup on track to play](=) Source: Fort Worth Star-Telegram - Clarence E. Hill Jr. Dallas Cowboys WR Michael Gallup (knee) appears on track to play in Week 3 and will have a full week of practice in preparation. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We love it when a plan comes together. Perhaps some of you won't get the "A-Team" reference, but the Cowboys should have their own "A-Team" on the field in Week 3. Well, not quite "A-Team" with QB Cooper Rush starting, they'll have their top two wide receivers in CeeDee Lamb and Gallup. In his first week back, the Cowboys could have Gallup on a snap count. Pick up Gallup if he's out there, but let's see what he looks like before trusting him in our fantasy lineups...even as a 'what the heck' flex. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [SF - Limited practice for TE George Kittle](=) Source: NBC Sports Bay Area - Matt Maiocco San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (groin) was limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 21. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Kittle was reportedly close to being ready last week. He'll be a nice boost for this offense and QB Jimmy Garoppolo if he can be out there. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [LAC - WR Keenan Allen a limited participant](=) Source: Chargers.com Los Angeles Chargers WR [Keenan Allen](=) (hamstring) was limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 21. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Fingers crossed here that Allen keeps progressing. Let's see what he's able to do Thursday and Friday. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [TB - Two Bucs to IR]() Source: Tampa Bay Times - Rick Stroud Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Giovani Bernard (knee) and OT Josh Wells (calf) were placed on the Reserve/Injured list Wednesday, Sept. 21. OL Justin Skule (49ers) was signed to the practice squad. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Brandon Walton should take over at left tackle for the Buccaneers now that Wells will miss the next four weeks. The offensive line injuries are bad news for QB Tom Brady. Our friends at PFF graded the Buccaneers' O-Line as the 11th worst pass-blocking unit in the NFL over the first two weeks of the regular season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [IND - Alec Pierce fully practices](=) Source: Colts.com Indianapolis Colts WR [Alec Pierce](=) (concussion) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 21. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Good news for the Colts who badly need more offensive weapons. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [NYJ - QB Zach Wilson to ramp it up](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport New York Jets QB Zach Wilson (knee) will increase his work in 7-on-7's this week in an attempt to be ready when he comes off the Reserve/Injured list for Week 4. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Joe Flacco has been filling the air with footballs over the first two weeks of the season. The Jets fall behind, and that forces a pass-happy game script. If somehow/someway they're able to beat the Bengals in Week 3, Flacco could hold onto the starting job. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [BUF - Gabriel Davis listed as limited](=) Source: BuffaloBills.com Buffalo Bills WR Gabriel Davis (ankle) was limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 21. The Bills did not hold a practice Wednesday, so this is an estimation. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A lot of Fantasy GMs are watching and waiting for updates on the status of Davis this week in practice. The Bills' offense is rolling, and even without Davis, they are putting up points like wildfire. It would be a boost for the offense to have Davis out there against the Dolphins in Week 3. The Bills held a walkthrough on Wednesday, so it's at least a good sign that Davis could make it out there for that. [BUF - TE Dawson Knox does not practice](=) Source: BuffaloBills.com Buffalo Bills TE [Dawson Knox](=) (foot) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 21. The Bills did not hold a practice Wednesday, so this is an estimation. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Bills held a walkthrough and Knox couldn't be out there. It's interesting given he did get his foot examined on Monday night against the Titans. Knox caught 4-of-5 targets for 41 yards in the Bills' Week 2 blowout over the Titans. We'll see if he can practice on Friday as the Bills prepare for a huge divisional matchup against the upstart Dolphins on Sunday. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [GB - RB Aaron Jones as elusive as ever](=) Source: ProFootballReference.com Green Bay Packers RB [Aaron Jones](=) ranks second in the league with 107 yards rushing after contact through two games despite only handling 20 carries. That mark trails only [Saquon Barkley](=), who has amassed 155 yards on 37 attempts. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jones is elusive, but he also does a great job of taking on would-be tacklers at a great angle. This means Jones rarely gets that big shot that can take ball-carriers down with ease. Instead, there are glancing blows where Jones can use his leg drive to get those yards after contact. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [NYG - WR Kenny Golladay may request trade]() Source: SNY.tv - Connor Hughes New York Giants WR [Kenny Golladay](=) is unhappy with his limited role and isn't ruling out a trade request. 'We'll see how it goes,' Golladay said about a possible trade request on Wednesday, Sept. 21. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] He'll be alright. The Giants' new coaching staff is playing 'their guys' instead of trotting out more of guys like Golladay just because they've got large contracts. That's why you've seen less of Golladay and more of a guy like David Sills. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [CIN - TE Drew Sample to miss extended time]( Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Myles Simmons Cincinnati Bengals TE [Drew Sample](=) (knee) is scheduled to undergo knee surgery and is expected to be sidelined for several months, according to head coach Zac Taylor. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Sample was technically the starting tight end for the Bengals, but he was out there to primarily block. With Sample down, the Bengals turn to Hayden Hurst in an every-down role. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [PIT - George Pickens running long distance]( Source: ProFootballReference.com Pittsburgh Steelers WR [George Pickens](=) leads all receivers who have played at least two games with a 21.2-yard average depth of target, according to Pro Football Reference. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Pickens has great skill....too bad he doesn't have a great quarterback. We think the Steelers should turn things over to rookie first-round pick Kenny Pickett ASAP. However, so long as they can win and stay competitive, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin seems content with veteran QB Mitchell Trubisky as the starter. Trubisky holds back the numbers and the passing game. We love Pickens in dynasty formats, but his projections for this season are muted because of Trubisky. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [TEN - RB Trenton Cannon out for the season]() Source: PaulKuharsky.com - Paul Kuharsky Tennessee Titans RB Trenton Cannon (knee) is out for the season after suffering an unspecified knee injury in Week 2, according to Paul Kuharsky on Wednesday, Sept. 21. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Cannon has bounced around the league since getting drafted in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL draft out of Virginia State. He'll struggle to find a home in 2023 as a free agent. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 17. [CAR - Christian McCaffery resting Wednesday]( Source: Panthers.com Carolina Panthers RB [Christian McCaffrey](=) (rest) did not practice on Wednesday, Sept. 21. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] No big deal. This is a rest day, something that happens every Wednesday for McCaffrey. He should be good to go as a top-5 fantasy running back against the Saints in Week 3. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 18. [DEN - WR Jerry Jeudy not practicing Wednesday]() Source: Broncos Wire - Jon Heath Denver Broncos WR [Jerry Jeudy](=) (ribs) is not practicing on Wednesday, Sept. 21, head coach Nathaniel Hackett said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jeudy may not be able to play against the 49ers on Sunday night. That means Fantasy GMs will have to look elsewhere for flex appeal. If Jeudy does not play, the Broncos could turn to guys like Kendall Hinton or Montrell Washington more. We all have seen that Courtland Sutton is Russell Wilson's favorite target and worth starting as a WR2 from a fantasy perspective. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 19. [SEA - QB Geno Smith precise through two weeks](=) Source: ProFootballReference.com Seattle Seahawks QB [Geno Smith](=) leads all quarterbacks with an 87.5 on-target percentage through two games, according to Pro Football Reference. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Smith isn't going to attack downfield much, but he can work the underneath routes. When throwing short-to-intermediate passes, Smith can obviously be an efficient player. What he needs is permission to let it rip from time to time or the Seahawks are going to be painfully average (at best) in 2022. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 20. [KC - PK Harrison Butker not practicing Wednesday](=) Source: ArrowheadPride.com - Pete Sweeney Kansas City Chiefs PK Harrison Butker (ankle) won't practice on Wednesday, Sept. 21, head coach Andy Reid said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's still too early to tell for this week. Let's see if he's able to work Thursday or Friday.
