Osborn poised for big season?](=) Source: NBC Sports - Peter King Minnesota Vikings WR K.J. Osborn has 'been great in camp this summer' and 'enters year three with a legit chance to be a 1,000-yard receiver,' NBC Sports' Peter King wrote on Tuesday, Aug. 22. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Osborn is a nice sleeper pick given the new Vikings offense under head coach Kevin O'Connell. Justin Jefferson is going to dominate, and Adam Thielen will continue to be a favorite target for QB Kirk Cousins. However, there is some deep flex appeal for Osborn - at least - this season with a more pass-happy scheme. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [WAS - DE Chase Young out at least 4 games]( Source: Commanders.com Washington Commanders DE Chase Young (knee) was moved to the reserve/physically unable to perform list on Tuesday, Aug. 23, and will miss at least the first four games of the 2022 season. Young is recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered last season. In addition, Washington placed C Tyler Larsen on the reserve/PUP list, LB Nate Gerry on injured reserve, and released WR Kelvin Harmon and OT Rashod Hill. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Young suffered a torn ACL last year as a rookie in Week 10. He's been on the road to recovery since then, but he may not be ready to go until after the first month of the season. Now, with this move, Young gets more time to recover and Washington frees up another roster spot for the time being. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [NO - WR Thomas Hamstring Injury Not Serious?]( Source: Larry Holder - The Athletic Larry Holder, from The Athletic, reports New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas has a hamstring injury that doesn't sound serious. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The injury may not sound serious, but another injury is a concern for a player who has missed most of the last two seasons with ankle problems. There is time for the Saints to get Thomas right, and right now it seems like he's on track for the start of the regular season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [NE - Will Use RBs Harris and Stevenson All 3 Downs]() Source: Mike Reiss - ESPN.com Mike Reiss, from ESPN.com, reports New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick said RBs Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson could be used on "all three downs" and the team has to "plan accordingly for that." [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] With RB James White retiring, the Patriots won't be using a three-down back like in the past. Instead, Harris and Stevenson will get passing down work. Harris should be considered the lead back in this RBBC, but Stevenson might be the better receiver out of the backfield. We like drafting Harris in the RB25-35 range, while Stevenson should go off the board around the RB30-40 range. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [LVR - RB Kenyan Drake cut loose]( Source: CBSSports.com - Jonathan Jones Updating a previous report, Las Vegas Raiders RB Kenyan Drake was released Tuesday, Aug. 23. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Drake can still contribute in this league and will likely have a landing spot soon. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [WAS - Details on DE Chase Young's ACL surgery](=) Source: Jordan Schultz Washington Commanders DE Chase Young's (knee) surgery to repair his torn anterior cruciate ligament was more significant than most because he also suffered a fully ruptured patellar tendon, which has extended his recovery, per source on Tuesday, Aug. 23. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Washington can have a disruptive pass rush when everyone is healthy, and Young is a big part of what they do when it comes to getting after the passer. Washington is aiming to have Young back by Week 5 after he was placed on the reserve/PUP list, which will force him to miss the first four games. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [KC - WR JuJu Smith-Schuster remains sidelined]( Source: ChiefsWire - Charles Goldman Kansas City Chiefs WR JuJu Smith-Schuster (knee) did not participate in practice Monday, Aug. 22. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Chiefs coach Andy Reid told reporters that Smith-Schuster has "turned the corner" and should be fine for the regular season. We should see the veteran receiver be a favorite target for QB Patrick Mahomes as the Chiefs unveil a new offense sans WR Tyreek Hill. We like drafting him in the 25-35 range at the position. [SF - RB Mitchell on Track for Week 1](=) Source: Matt Maiocco - NBC Sports Bay Area Matt Maiocco, from NBC Sports Bay Area, reports San Francisco 49ers RB Elijah Mitchell (hamstring) is on schedule to play Week 1. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Things are going as planned for the 49ers top running back. Mitchell will lead the way on the ground, and in this system, he can be quite productive as the starter. We like him going off the board around the RB17-25 range. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [GB - Christian Watson may play in finale](=) Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky Green Bay Packers WR Christian Watson might play in preseason Week 3, head coach Matt LaFleur said on Tuesday, Aug. 23. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Watson is battling back from a knee injury that had him on the PUP list until about a week ago. He's buried on the depth chart at this point, but the 2022 second-round pick has natural talent and upside. The Packers have Allen Lazard, Sammy Watkins, and Randall Cobb as their top three receivers. Watson could be no.4 on the depth chart, but right now fellow rookie WR Romeo Doubs is the star of camp. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [LAC - TE Donald Parham not ready to play]() Source: ESPN.com - Lindsey Thiry Los Angeles Chargers TE Donald Parham (hamstring) is making progress in his recovery but will not be available for the final preseason game, according to head coach Brandon Staley. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Parham was having a good camp before this hamstring injury. He's week-to-week in his recovery, and his status for Week 1 is up in the air at this time. When healthy, Parham could push Chargers starting TE Gerald Everett for snaps/targets. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [NO - QB Jameis Winston takes part in team drills](=) Source: ESPN.com - Katherine Terrell New Orleans Saints QB Jameis Winston (foot) participated in 11-on-11 drills during practice Monday, Aug. 22. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Winston came back from the knee injury that cut his 2021 season short. He missed about two weeks in camp with this foot injury, and Winston should be good to go for the start of the regular season. We see him as a solid QB2 from a fantasy perspective, and drafting him around the QB15-20 range sounds good. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [DET - Jameson Williams to miss at least four games]() Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero Detroit Lions WR Jameson Williams (knee) is being moved to the reserve/non-football injury list, according to a source on Tuesday, Aug. 23. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Lions were hoping Williams could be ready sooner, but there's no need to rush the 2022 first-round pick into action. Williams will miss at least the first four games as he continues to recover from a torn ACL he suffered in the National Championship Game. The Lions hope that Williams will be ready by midseason. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [DET - QB Jared Goff expected to skip preseason game](=) Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Myles Simmons Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff is not expected to play in the final preseason game, but head coach Dan Campbell said most starters will receive a good amount of playing time during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Goff won't be looked at in fantasy drafts, even as a backup. In the Lions' offense, Goff will be asked to be a game manager and hand off as much as possible. That makes him a low-end QB2 for Fantasy GMs, and that means most of you won't be drafting him. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [TEN - RB Dontrell Hilliard is RB Derrick Henry's Primary Backup?](=) Source: The Athletic - Joe Rexrode Tennessee Titans RB Dontrell Hilliard is expected to 'get the bulk of the work if Derrick Henry were to miss any time,' The Athletic's Joe Rexrode wrote on Tuesday, Aug. 23. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hilliard has regularly made plays in Titans camp. If Henry were to miss time, Hilliard could get a bulk of the work. Rookie RB Hassan Haskins would get into the mix as well. If you're drafting Henry early (and have deep bench space) then grab Hilliard just in case late in your draft. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks. Thanks for reading and thanks for being part of the Footballguys Family.
