[LAC - Isaiah Spiller suffers ankle injury](#9) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [GB - David Bakhtiari coming off PUP]( Source: Green Bay Press-Gazette - Pete Dougherty Green Bay Packers OT David Bakhtiari (knee) is returning from the Active/PUP list on Sunday, Aug. 21, and will take part in individual drills. It still isn't clear when Bakhtiari will be game ready. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This is still good news as the team loses the opportunity to keep him on the PUP list to open the season, which probably means they expect Bakhtiari to be ready before Week 5. The offense was successful without him last year, but Elgton Jenkins was a big reason why and he's coming back off an ACL tear. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [WAS - RB Brian Robinson the starter?]() Source: NBC Sports Washington - JP Finlay Washington Commanders RB Brian Robinson got the start in the second preseason game Saturday, Aug. 20, while fellow RB Antonio Gibson started the game on special teams as a kick returner. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Gibson's ADP should plummet on this news, while Robinson's should rise, perhaps even past Gibson's. We should trust what we see - the team appears to like Robinson more than Gibson - and Robinson's performance did nothing to dispel the notion that he will remain ahead of Gibson when the season starts. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [HOU - Dameon Pierce already the RB1?]() Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson Houston Texans RB Dameon Pierce was held out of the preseason Week 2 game vs. the Los Angeles Rams, according to HoustonTexans.com's Deepi Sidhu. The Houston Chronicle writer Aaron Wilson alluded to the Texans being comfortable with what Pierce has shown them and may not have needed further evaluation. 'Team loved what he did last week. When you get the evaluation you want, you don't necessarily have to double down in preseason,' he said on Twitter. Head coach Lovie Smith told the media he wanted to get a better look at the other running backs when asked about Pierce's absence. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Pierce is part of a richer than usual vein of usable fantasy running backs you can get in the 6th-10th round this year. His ADP should rise on this news and it isn't too ambitious to take him closer to the 6th than the 10th as Pierce will surely go higher than any recorded ADP this week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [PIT - Kenny Pickett closing the gap?]( Source: NFL.com - Nick Shook Pittsburgh Steelers QB Kenny Pickett followed QB Mitchell Trubisky in the rotation, throwing for 76 yards and a touchdown on six of seven passing. The scoring drive went 63 yards in 42 seconds via no-huddle offense. 'We'll address depth chart-related things over the next couple of days as we zero in on our next opportunity,' head coach Mike Tomlin said after the game. 'I don't make knee-jerk reactions or statements following the performance.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Pickett probably shouldn't be considered a favorite to start Week 1 because of the Steelers conservative nature, but he has definitely done enough this summer to make the team have little patience for a sputtering offense under Trubisky's command. Pickett is now a must-draft player in superflex leagues. If the Steelers turn to more no-huddle to embrace Pickett's strength, they could be a surprise quality fantasy pass offense with so much talent around the rookie. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [CHI - ILB Roquan Smith returns to practice]() Source: Chicago Bears PR Chicago Bears LB Roquan Smith returned to practice Saturday, Aug. 20, and is ending his 'hold in' as he looks for a new contract. Smith plans to play out the final year of his rookie deal. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Smith's IDP stock is intact for this year again. Matt Adams was filling in for him at weakside linebacker, but he will go back to battling Joe Thomas for snaps on the strong side now. [MIA - Erik Ezukanma shines in Week 2 preseason play](=) Source: ESPN Miami Dolphins WR Erik Ezukanma caught six of nine targets for 114 yards vs. the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday, Aug. 20. His performance was highlighted by a long of 34 yards on a one-handed reception in tight coverage. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ezukanma is a big outside receiver who should eventually push for DeVante Parker's role in the passing game. He doesn't have fantasy value right now, but in deep dynasty leagues he could emerge as an outside threat against defenses focused on containing Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [LAR - Logan Bruss out for year]() Source: ESPN.com - Sarah Barshop Los Angeles Rams OL Logan Bruss (knee) tore his ACL and MCL, according to head coach Sean McVay on Saturday, Aug. 20. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Bruss was going to be a top backup and was previously in competition to start at right guard on the offensive line after the team took him in the third round. Coleman Shelton beat out Bruss to start, but the loss of Bruss could still be felt if the team suffers more injuries at guard this season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [TB - Aaron Stinnie injures knee]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Tampa Bay Buccaneers OG Aaron Stinnie (knee) did not return to the preseason game versus the Tennessee Titans Saturday, Aug. 20, after sustaining a knee injury which led to him being carted off the field. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Stinnie has a torn ACL and MCL and will miss the season. He was in the mix to start at left guard for a team that already lost their center indefinitely. Second-round pick Luke Goedeke, who didn't stand out last night, and Nick Leverett will compete for the job now. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [LAC - Isaiah Spiller suffers ankle injury]() Source: Chargers.com Los Angeles Chargers RB Isaiah Spiller (ankle) suffered an ankle injury Saturday, Aug. 20, vs. the Dallas Cowboys, and is questionable to return. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Spiller was already running behind Joshua Kelley for the #2 back role in the offense. This injury probably seals his fate as depth who may or may be active on game days. There was a lot of optimism about him after the Chargers took him because Kelley faltered in the role the last two years, but Kelley has had a good summer and should be on your late-round radar or at least waiver wire watch list if Austin Ekeler goes down.
