[PIT - S Karl Joseph, WR Anthony Miller done for the year](#11) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [DEN - WR Courtland Sutton is Russell Wilson's go-to guy?]() Source: ESPN.com - Jeff Legwold Denver Broncos WR Courtland Sutton has emerged as the go-to target for QB Russell Wilson, in the opinion of Jeff Legwold of ESPN. 'Wilson has shown in training camp he's going to move the ball around to find the matchups he likes. But he's also shown in practices and the joint workouts with the Dallas Cowboys that when he really needs a completion or has been moved off his spot by the pass rush, he's going to look for Sutton,' said Legwold. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Sutton has been Wilson's favorite since the opening days of minicamp and OTAs. He can play above the rim, and Sutton can bail out Wilson when the play breaks down. Sutton is not getting open against Patrick Surtain, but he's working the other cornerbacks the Broncos put on him in practice. We like Sutton as a WR2 with upside in fantasy drafts, somewhere in the WR15-20 range. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [GB - Romeo Doubs 'well ahead' of Christian Watson]() Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky Green Bay Packers WR Romeo Doubs is 'well ahead' of fellow rookie WR Christian Watson on the depth chart, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN on Tuesday, Aug. 16. 'Doubs is well ahead of Watson at this point, but there's plenty of time for Watson to make up ground.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Every day there seems to be a positive story about Doubs. The rookie fourth-round pick from Nevada has certainly stood out in training camp. Earlier this month, QB Aaron Rodgers told reporters that "every single day" Doubs has made at least one "wow play." Doubs makes for a fantastic late-round pick in your fantasy drafts, but as more of these stories come out the higher his draft position rises. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [NE - RB Rhamondre Stevenson praised]( Source: CSNNE.com - Phil Perry New England Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson was praised for the improvements he has made in the passing game, according to head coach Bill Belichick. He emphasized he liked what he saw in pass protection. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Stevenson can work as a three-down back for the Patriots. He'll work in tandem with Damien Harris, but Stevenson is the most well-rounded back on the Patriots roster. Stevenson has plenty of flex appeal, and he should come off the board in the RB30-40 range. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [NYJ - QB Zach Wilson has surgery]( Source: ESPN.com - Rich Cimini New York Jets QB Zach Wilson (knee) underwent arthroscopic knee surgery Tuesday, Aug. 16, and has a reasonable chance to return in time to start Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens, according to a source. However, the team has made it clear he will not return until he is 100 percent. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We'll see if Wilson can get to full strength before the start of the regular season. It sounds like that's possible so long as the second-year quarterback doesn't suffer any setbacks. Without him, the Jets turn to Joe Flacco as their starter. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [NYJ - More on QB Zach Wilson's surgery]() Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Updating previous reports, New York Jets QB Zach Wilson (knee) will have surgery Tuesday, Aug. 16, but Dr. Neal ElAttrache will make the final decision as to what procedure is performed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Jets avoided a larger disaster as Wilson suffered a bone bruise and meniscus tear in his right knee. He's set to miss a couple of weeks as he recovers from surgery, and there's a chance Wilson is ready for the start of the regular season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [KC - WR JuJu Smith-Schuster absent with sore knee]( Source: ArrowheadPride.com - Pete Sweeney Kansas City Chiefs WR JuJu Smith-Schuster (knee) missed practice Tuesday, Aug. 16, due to a sore knee. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This could be a maintenance day for the veteran receiver. Smith-Schuster has been lining up all over the formation in training camp, and he's working to be a favorite target of QB Patrick Mahomes. We like projecting Smith-Schuster for around 80-85 catches and 900-950 receiving yards (and 5-7 touchdowns) in 2022. [PHI - RB Miles Sanders sidelined with hamstring injury]() Source: NBC Sports Philadelphia - Dave Zangaro Philadelphia Eagles RB Miles Sanders (hamstring) was absent from practice Tuesday, Aug. 16, due to a hamstring injury. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Sanders did play in the Eagles' preseason opener, but then he's been sidelined with this hamstring injury. He should still be the lead back for the Eagles, but Kenneth Gainwell should get plenty of work as the team's pass-catching back. We like Sanders around the RB30 range, while Gainwell has PPR upside around the RB45 range. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [BAL - QB Brett Hundley cut]() Source: Pro Football Network - Aaron Wilson Baltimore Ravens QB Brett Hundley was released Tuesday, Aug. 16. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hundley signed with the team in late May, and he couldn't make it through the preseason with the Ravens. The former fifth-round pick out of UCLA (2015, Packers) has played on five teams since coming into the league. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [MIA - TE Adam Shaheen to IR](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Miami Dolphins TE Adam Shaheen (knee) was placed on season-ending Injured Reserve Tuesday, Aug. 16. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Shaheen doesn't fit what the Dolphins need from their tight ends in Mike McDaniel's system. He was going to be traded to the Texans, but the trade was rejected with a failed physical designation. Shaheen will try to find a new home in 2023 as an unrestricted free agent. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [WAS - RB Antonio Gibson working on special teams]() Source: The Washington Post - Sam Fortier Washington Commanders RB Antonio Gibson was seen working with the punting unit on special teams during practice Tuesday, Aug. 16. This came after Gibson was also seen working with the third-team offense. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Gibson is certainly in the doghouse after fumbling in the preseason opener for the Commanders. Rookie Brian Robinson has looked outstanding this month, and he's set to earn a larger role in the backfield than originally thought. Add in pass-catching specialist J.D. McKissic and things are complicated when projecting what Gibson will do this season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [PIT - S Karl Joseph, WR Anthony Miller done for the year]( Source: Steelers.com - Teresa Varley Pittsburgh Steelers S Karl Joseph (ankle) and WR Anthony Miller (shoulder) were placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Aug. 16. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Miller was looking to make the Steelers roster as veteran depth. Now, Miller will be done for the year and hitting free agency in 2023. The former second-round pick (2018, Bears) may have trouble garnering much interest on the open market next offseason. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks. Thanks for reading and thanks for spending time with us. Be kind to each other.
