[NO - Correction: WR Michael Thomas off the PUP list](#24) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [NO - WR Michael Thomas moving well](=) Source: NewOrleans.Football - Nick Underhill New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas (ankle) 'moved well' in training camp practice on Wednesday, July 27, according to Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football. Underhill also noted that Thomas participated in individual and route work but did not take part in team work. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Thomas is healthier than expected after ominous news of a second ankle surgery in November following a procedure in June that obviously did not go as well as planned. This is good news for Thomas and Jameis Winston's fantasy value, and it might not be bad news for Chris Olave, because his targets will be more valuable if defenses have to worry about a healthy Thomas. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [TB - RB Leonard Fournette in shape]() Source: NFL.com Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Leonard Fournette drew praise from head coach Todd Bowles on Wednesday, July 27, for being in shape upon reporting for training camp. Bowles noted Fournette looked good in practice and did well in the team's conditioning test. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Fournette was around 260 pounds earlier this offseason, but he insisted that he gets in shape before the start of training camp. That seems to be the case again, and things are off and rolling for the veteran back now at 245 pounds. He's a favorite of QB Tom Brady and can be a favorite for Fantasy GMs as an RB1 once again in 2022. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [CAR - QBs splitting first-team reps]() Source: NFL.com Carolina Panthers QBs Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield are splitting first-team reps to starting training camp, per head coach Matt Rhule. Darnold took all first-team reps on Wednesday, July 27, and Mayfield will take all first-team reps on Thursday, July 28. This approach is expected to continue for the foreseeable future. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The team insists that Mayfield is competing with Darnold, but many (including us) expect the winner to be Mayfield. It may not take long for this competition to be called, and for Mayfield to come out on top. If/when Mayfield is named the starter, the Panthers seem like they'll keep Darnold on the roster as the primary backup. Neither is a great option or Fantasy GMs in 2022. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [CIN - No timetable for QB Joe Burrow]() Source: The Athletic - Paul Dehner Jr. Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow (appendix) has no timetable for a return from a recent appendectomy, head coach Zac Taylor said on Wednesday, July 27. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The surgery to remove an appendix isn't anything that we should expect to affect Burrow's availability for Week 1, and the team doesn't have any major new additions on offense for Burrow to establish chemistry with, so this shouldn't change your outlook on him in fantasy leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [GB - No timetable for David Bakhtiari]( Source: SI.com - Bill Huber Green Bay Packers OT David Bakhtiari (knee) has no timetable for a return but the team is 'cautiously optimistic' he'll be ready for Week 1, according to general manager Brian Gutekunst on Wednesday, July 27. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This opens up the possibility that Bakhtiari might not regain his old form, as another offseason knee surgery was also confirmed. The team's other tackle, Elgton Jenkins, is also returning from knee surgery, so this is something to watch for projecting the Packers early-season offensive performance. 2019 UDFA tackle Yosh Nijman was a savior last year, so the team might consider putting him in bubble wrap until Bakhtiari and Jenkins are back. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [SF - WR Deebo Samuel reports for camp](=) Source: San Jose Mercury News - Cam Inman San Francisco 49ers WR Deebo Samuel reported for training camp on Tuesday, July 26. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The 49ers only have $4.9 million in cap space at this time. Unless/until they trade QB Jimmy Garoppolo (and his $26.9 million cap hit) there's not a lot of room to get a contract done with Samuel. General manager John Lynch says the two sides have had 'productive and substantive talks about a contract extension. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [TB - WR Chris Godwin cleared for camp](=) Source: Tampa Bay Times - Rick Stroud Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin (knee) has been cleared for training camp but won't participate fully from the start as he continues to work his way back from torn anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This is great news for his chances to be ready for Week 1, although the team can ease him back to his full snap load as long as Julio Jones is healthy to begin the season. Godwin's ADP is sure to rise a round or two, and Tom Brady's ADP should also tick up a bit. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [MIA - RB Raheem Mostert could be ready Week 1]() Source: NFL.com Miami Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert (knee) is preparing to be ready for Week 1, according to head coach Mike McDaniel on Wednesday, July 27. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Mostert has speed and knows the system like the back of his hand. He could work into the mix with Chase Edmonds when healthy, and Mostert can make an explosive play anytime he touches the ball. The expectations for Mostert this entire offseason have been that he will be ready Week 1. We'll see if we get more information on his status as training camp rolls on. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [TEN - RB Derrick Henry likely to sit out preseason]( Source: TennesseeTitans.com - Jim Wyatt Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry likely will not play in any preseason games, according to head coach Mike Vrabel. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This should surprise no Fantasy GM out there. Henry is a seasoned pro who doesn't need much work (and more wear) in the preseason. He'll be ready to go in Week 1, and Henry is a clear-cut RB1 for Fantasy GMs in 2022 as the centerpiece of the Titans offense. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [TB - WR Julio Jones contract details](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Updating a previous report, Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Julio Jones signed a one-year, $6 million contract with a max value of $8 million on Wednesday, July 27, per source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Six million isn't chump change, but it is significantly less than what the team gave Russell Gage per year (10 million). The team cited replacing Rob Gronkowski's targets and the state of their wide receiver corps at the end of the season, so Jones signing is more about depth than it is about the veteran usurping the role of Gage, a free agent signing Tom Brady recruited to the team. The Bucs offense supported three top 13 wideouts on a points per game basis in PPR leagues last year, so there's plenty of room for Gage to outproduce ADP even with Jones in tow. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [KC - RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire back soon]() Source: The Athletic - Nate Taylor Updating a previous report, Kansas City Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire (undisclosed) is expected back in a few days as his ailment is nothing major. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Edwards-Helaire was seen at practice on the 27th, so we can feel free to ignore the fact that he was put on the PUP list to open camp. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [TEN - WR Robert Woods to be limited early]( Source: TennesseeTitans.com - Jim Wyatt Tennessee Titans WR Robert Woods (knee) will not participate in all of the drills at the start of training camp, according to head coach Mike Vrabel. Vrabel said Woods will be participating in about 90 percent of the drills. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Woods is on track to be ready for Week 1. He and #18 overall pick Treylon Burks will start in a new look Titans pass offense that is difficult to project while we see how Woods recovery is going and how Burks is acclimating to the NFL. [KC - TE Travis Kelce gets a raise for 2022](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce agreed to terms on an adjusted contract on Wednesday, July 27, according to sources. The Chiefs are moving $3 million from the back end of Kelce's contract to give him a raise for 2022. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Chiefs are giving Kelce more money because he's worth it. He's going to prove his worth more than ever before with WR Tyreek Hill gone. Fantasy GMs love Kelce, and he's a no-brainer starter as a TE1 every week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [IND - RB Jonathan Taylor good to go for camp]( Source: Indianapolis Star - Joel A. Erickson Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor (undisclosed) said he's ready for training camp on Tuesday, July 26, after sitting out mandatory minicamp last month. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Taylor doesn't need a ton of work in training camp or preseason. The team will give him a ton of carries, and Taylor should be featured more than most running backs in the league. Expect him to work in camp but be limited when it comes to preseason touches as the team keeps him fresh for the start of the regular season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [DAL - WR Michael Gallup update]( Source: ESPN.com - Todd Archer Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys WR Michael Gallup (knee) does not have a timetable for return yet but head coach Mike McCarthy noted that he is 'in the fourth quarter' of his rehab on Wednesday, July 27. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The expectation has been that Gallup will be ready in Week 1. Gallup was placed on the active/physically unable to perform list as he continues to recover from a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered last season. We'll see if he can continue to progress as the season draws near. While Gallup misses more time, the Cowboys will get longer looks at James Washington and Jalen Tolbert. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [SF - WR Deebo Samuel not practicing]() Source: The Athletic - David Lombardi San Francisco 49ers WR Deebo Samuel did not take part in the first practice of training camp on Wednesday, July 27, and instead opted to do conditioning work on the side as he and the team continue to work on a contract extension. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We'll see if the 49ers can get a deal done with Samuel in the near future. Samuel wants a new deal, and 49ers GM John Lynch has previously stated that there is optimism in this situation. Stay tuned. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 17. [TEN - Treylon Burks off to good start]( Source: The Tennessean - Ben Arthur Tennessee Titans WR Treylon Burks was among the biggest standouts during the team's first practice of training camp on Wednesday, July 27, per Ben Arthur of The Tennessean. Arthur noted that Burks fully participated and made a pair of nice grabs, and he looked slimmer since we last saw him during rookie minicamp in May. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Finally some good news for the rookie! It seemed like every story about the 2022 first-round pick this offseason had to do with drops, poor conditioning, or problems from asthma. There was not much positive reporting about Burks up to this point. Now, let's see the rookie continue to build momentum as he gets ready for the start of the regular season. From a fantasy perspective, we like the rookie as a deep flex WR4/5 option with upside. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 18. [NYJ - Mekhi Becton done at left tackle]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter New York Jets OT Mekhi Becton is moving to right tackle and OT George Fant will man left tackle, according to head coach Robert Saleh on Wednesday, July 27. 'Mekhi's left tackle days are over,' Saleh said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This move is a bit curious as Becton was seen as the team's left tackle of the present and future, but if Becton can stay healthy, he'll be impactful for this offense no matter where he lines up. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 19. [CIN - WR Tee Higgins cleared to practice]( Source: The Cincinnati Enquirer - Kelsey Conway Cincinnati Bengals WR Tee Higgins (shoulder) has been cleared to practice after undergoing offseason shoulder surgery, head coach Zac Taylor said on Wednesday, July 27. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The team had Higgins on this timeline after surgery. He missed all of the offseason programs, but they wanted him ready for training camp. Now that Higgins has been cleared, expect the team to ease him back into action during the month of August. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 20. [WAS - WR Terry McLaurin, Carson Wentz clicking]( Source: The Washington Post - Nicki Jhabvala Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin says he and QB Carson Wentz are 'starting to build [a] really, really good personal relationship.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] That's good news for McLaurin and Fantasy GMs. He's a great receiver who was rewarded with a big-money contract earlier this month. McLaurin is a WR2 with upside for Fantasy GMs in 2022. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 21. [GB - Christian Watson had minor knee surgery]( Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky Green Bay Packers WR Christian Watson (knee) had minor knee surgery following the team's offseason program in June, per a source on Wednesday, July 27. Watson is currently on the active/physically unable to perform list. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Aaron Rodgers usually doesn't make great use of rookies in the passing game. A delayed start to camp for Watson will make it even more likely that he doesn't have an impact in fantasy leagues this year. Fellow rookie Romeo Doubs, the team's fourth-round pick, was deemed as more pro-ready by some and could take advantage of Watson's absence. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 22. [DAL - WR Cole Beasley open to Cowboys reunion]( Source: Twitter - Cole Beasley Free-agent WR Cole Beasley (Bills) tweeted that he's open to a reunion with the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday, July 26. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Cowboys have an obvious need at slot receiver, so this makes sense. Tony Pollard was getting work in the slot during the offseason, so if Beasley lands in Dallas, that could limit a path to value for Pollard. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 23. [NO - QB Jameis Winston to take part in drills](=) Source: ESPN.com - Katherine Terrell New Orleans Saints QB Jameis Winston (knee) will participate in team drills when the team starts practicing this week, according to head coach Dennis Allen. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] More good news for Winston here. He was held out of action during minicamp and OTAs while he worked back from the knee injury that cut his 2021 season short. Winston looked efficient last year as a passer before getting hurt in Week 7. Fantasy GMs will likely pay higher prices for Saints skill position players as the preseason goes on, and we hear more about Winston being fully ready for Week 1. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 24. [NO - Correction: WR Michael Thomas off the PUP list](=) Source: NewOrleansSaints.com Correcting a previous report, New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas (ankle) is off the active/physically unable to perform list after taking part in practice on Wednesday, July 27. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Things happen pretty quickly around here...especially when training camp opens up. Thomas is back, ready for more action, and the Saints' offense will see a boost when he's on the field. He may not be the top-tier receiver he used to be, but if Thomas's ankle feels good he could perform like a WR2 with upside for Fantasy GMs in 2022.
