[BAL - CB Marlon Humphrey restructures contract](#10) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [JAX - RB James Robinson avoids PUP]( Source: Jaguar Report - John Shipley Jacksonville Jaguars RB James Robinson (Achilles') will not open training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This is a big win for Robinson's outlook after he suffered an Achilles injury in Week 16. He is on track to be ready for the season opener. The coaches love Robinson, so expect a committee with him and Travis Etienne, perhaps signaling that Etienne's rise in ADP in recent months was premature. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [MIA - RB Raheem Mostert cleared for camp, but in crowded backfield]( Source: ESPN.com - Marcel Louis-Jacques Miami Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert (knee) is still recovering from a knee injury but has been cleared for camp per writer Marcel Louis-Jacques. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Mostert's injury came in Week 1, so this is on the long side of the recovery timeline if Mostert is not ready for Week 1. He was medically cleared for the start of camp in positive news, but Mostert is a "believe it when we see it" player when it comes to full health and durability. Chase Edmonds will get ample opportunity to earn his two-year, $12.1 contract while Mostert is recovering, and Sony Michel should get a chance to do what he can do. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [BUF - WR Isaiah McKenzie poised for big role?](=) Source: 13WHAM ABC Rochester - Dan Fetes Buffalo Bills WR Isaiah McKenzie is going to be 'a BIG part' of the Bills' offense this season,' according to 13WHAM ABC's Dan Fetes. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The slot role in Buffalo's offense is up for grabs, but it was McKenzie who got the majority of the first team reps so far in camp. McKenzie actually outproduced Cole Beasley when Beasley was out last year. It's time to move McKenzie up on late-round target lists in PPR leagues. Fifth-round rookie Khalil Shakir has also had a good start to camp, so this could get more complicated if that trend continues. The one sure thing is that Jamison Crowder's stock is not on the rise. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [LAR - QB Matthew Stafford will be on pitch count]() Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Mike Florio Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford (elbow) will be on a pitch count in training camp, but it didn't restrict him from doing anything Sunday, July 24, according to head coach Sean McVay. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This isn't enough to lower the projections/rankings for Stafford or any of his targets, but we should be monitoring Rams practice reports for any signs of a setback, and be ready during the early season games to change our position on Stafford and this passing game if he struggles to make throws that he is usually able to make. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [CIN - La'el Collins has back issue]() Source: The Athletic - Paul Dehner Jr. Cincinnati Bengals OT La'el Collins (back) is dealing with an unspecified back injury that was suffered in July, head coach Zac Taylor said on Monday, July 25, but it doesn't sound like the injury is serious. Collins was placed on the non-football injury list to start training camp. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We'll be watching this closely, as Alex Cappa, a guard signed away from Tampa Bay this offseason and another part of the offensive line rebuild project, also started camp on the PUP list. Hopefully Collins will be ready to play without restrictions by the third preseason game. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- FOOTBALLGUYS PICKS YOUR QUEST FOR $500K AWAITS - The 2022 FOOTBALLGUYS PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP is filling up fast.\ The $500,000 grand prize and the $4,395,750 total prize pool are fully guaranteed. [CAR - PUP list for ILB Shaq Thompson]() Source: NFL Network - Cameron Wolfe Carolina Panthers LB Shaq Thompson (knee) will start training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list after having a clean-up procedure on his knee this offseason, head coach Matt Rhule said on Monday, July 25. Thompson is expected to miss a couple of weeks. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It doesn't sound like this is a major issue, but don't assume Thompson will be ready Week 1 until we see him activated. Reclamation project Cory Littleton and fourth-round pick Brandon Smith are among the players who could see time in Thompson's spot while he heals. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [MIA - Terron Armstead fills massive void](=) Source: ESPN.com - Marcel Louis-Jacques Miami Dolphins newly signed OT Terron Armstead fills a massive void the Dolphins had in 2021 when they ranked 32nd in pass block win rate, according to NFL Next Gen Stats. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Armstead was probably a more important offseason addition than Tyreek Hill because nothing is going to work in this offense unless the offensive line play improves. He'll be the starting left tackle as the team hopes to get more elsewhere from the numerous draft picks they have invested on the line since trading away Laremy Tunsil. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [BUF - WR Gabriel Davis locked into No. 2 role](=) Source: NBC Sports - Peter King Buffalo Bills WR Gabriel Davis has done enough during his time with the team and this offseason to make the team 'very comfortable with him being a solid No. 2 receiver,' according to NBC Sports' Peter King. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] If you're looking for evidence that Davis is overrated at his ADP, this item won't qualify. Many have cited Davis being behind Emmanuel Sanders last year as a reason to doubt him this year, but from all outward indications, the team believes he has earned the starter spot, and the fantasy leap that will come with it. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [TB - TE Kyle Rudolph poised to replace Gronkowski?](=) Source: Tampa Bay Times - Rick Stroud Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Kyle Rudolph 'figures to inherit the bulk of (Rob) Gronkowski's workload' this season, according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The signing of Rudolph sure seemed like bad news for Cameron Brate. When a longtime beat writer believes that Rudolph will have something close to Gronkowski's role, it basically makes Brate undraftable, even in tight end premium leagues. We'll keep him on the waiver wire watch list (along with Rudolph) to see who Tom Brady's favorite is in the red zone. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [BAL - CB Marlon Humphrey restructures contract]( Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates Baltimore Ravens CB Marlon Humphrey had his contract restructured on Monday, July 25. The Ravens converted $8.965 million of Humphrey's $10 million base salary for 2022 into a signing bonus, creating $7.172 million in salary cap space, per source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This move should create speculation about what the Ravens will do with this additional cap space. The most obvious angle is signing a veteran wideout like Will Fuller or Julio Jones to bolster the most inexperienced wide receiver group in the league. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks. Have a great Tuesday and be kind to each other. We'll see you tomorrow with the Update.
