[] 1. [PIT - RB Harris Must Be a Bellcow]() Source: Bobby Cownack - NFL.com Bobby Cownack, from NFL.com, reports Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was recently on "The Pivot" podcast and said RB Najee Harris must carry the load in 2022. "That dude is a bell cow. He's gonna have to be a bell cow for us," Tomlin said. "If this train is going anywhere in 2022, he's going to be a major component of it, and he's capable. I ain't even talking about from a talent standpoint. We know that. I'm talking about he's capable from an intangibles standpoint. Bringing the best out in his teammates. Wearing the responsibility that comes with leading." [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Harris is capable of carrying a team, and the Steelers will need the best of him without QB Ben Roethlisberger. Last year, Harris was the no.5 fantasy running back at 18.2 fantasy points per game. There's a chance that could represent his floor and the best is yet to come. Harris is a no-brainer top-5 fantasy pick in drafts, and he could end the season as the no.1 running back in fantasy football. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [CAR - QB Corral Won't See Much Action]( Source: Scott Fowler - Charlotte Observer Scott Fowler, from the Charlotte Observer, reports Carolina Panthers rookie QB Matt Corral is unlikely to "see a regular-season snap this season." [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Zero surprise here. Corral has an interesting skill set...and it somewhat resembles that of QB Baker Mayfield. The Panthers traded for Mayfield earlier in the week, and he's likely to be the starter. Reports indicate the team is going to keep QB Sam Darnold, and he will likely be the primary backup to Mayfield in 2022. Corral will be a developmental prospect as a rookie, so we'll only monitor him in deep dynasty formats. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [GB - TE Davis a Sleeper?](=) Source: Matt Schneidman - The Athletic Matt Schneidman, from The Athletic, reports Green Bay Packers TE Tyler Davis is "the name that popped up more than any other" when discussing "under-the-radar players" on the Packers' roster this offseason. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Davis was a sixth-round pick out of Georgia Tech in the 2020 NFL draft for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was waived by the Jaguars in 2021 before the start of the regular season, and the Indianapolis Colts picked him up on their practice squad. He was with the Colts for about a month before the Packers plucked him away and put him on the active roster. A college quarterback at UCONN (before he transferred to Georgia Tech), we'll keep an eye on Davis in super deep dynasty formats. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [MIN - RB Cook To See More Targets]() Source: Kevin Patra - NFL.com Kevin Patra, from NFL.com, reports Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook is expected to see more targets in 2022. The Vikings should have a much more pass-happy offense under new head coach Kevin O'Connell. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Reports from OTAs and mandatory minicamp indicated Cook could see some time at wide receiver. There is no doubt that O'Connell will use one of the best backs in the game early and often. Fantasy GMs are ready to reap the rewards of Cook in the best offense he's ever been in. The only thing holding Cook back is his problems staying on the field. He has never played more than 14 games in a season and over the last four seasons has averaged 13 games played. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [TEN - Kyle Philips running good routes](=) Source: Titans.com - Jim Wyatt Tennessee Titans rookie WR Kyle Philips has impressed QB Ryan Tannehill with his route-running ability. 'Kyle's definitely a great route runner,' Tannehill said. 'He's got some quickness, some agility, (and I'm) getting to learn his craft as he learns our offense and sees where he fits in.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] That's what Philips does best, and it's what he was known for in college at UCLA. The Titans selected Philips in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL draft, and he's competing for a spot behind WRs Robert Woods and Treylon Burks. His main competition is guys like WRs Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and Dez Fitzpatrick. Philips is a slot receiver with upside to help on special teams as a punt returner as well. That versatility could help him make the 53-man roster out of training camp. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [BUF - WR Stefon Diggs at home in Buffalo]( Source: NFL.com - Kevin Patra Buffalo Bills WR Stefon Diggs leads the NFL with 330 targets since joining the Bills in 2020, and he ranks third in receptions and fourth in receiving yards in that span. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] There is no doubt that Diggs and QB Josh Allen have a great connection. Diggs and Allen have combined for 2,760 yards and 18 touchdowns on 230 receptions over the last two seasons. We could see Diggs as the no.1 receiver in fantasy football this season, and he's a top-5 WR1 for Fantasy GMs in any format. Diggs has a current ADP of WR5 (2.02) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [GB - Unclear When TE Tonyan Will Be Ready](=) Source: Matt Schneidman - The Athletic Matt Schneidman, from The Athletic, reports it "remains unclear" if Green Bay Packers TE Robert Tonyan (ACL) will be ready for Week 1. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Tonyan burned a lot of Fantasy GMs last year. After his breakout season in 2020, Tonyan got banged up in 2021 and he missed eight games with a knee injury. Tonyan has been recovering ever since and earlier this year Packers GM Brian Gutenkunst said at the time that Tonyan was "ahead of schedule" in his recovery. We should see Tonyan begin training camp on the PUP list, and he is unlikely to get much usage in the preseason as the team prepares him for Week 1. [] 8. [KC - Rookie WR Moore Missed A Lot of Time]() Source: Nate Taylor - The Athletic Nate Taylor, from The Athletic, reports Kansas City Chiefs rookie WR Skyy Moore missed most of the offseason program with a left hamstring injury. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We are excited to see Moore in the NFL, and he might be one of the most underrated receivers in this draft class. The Chiefs were able to pick him up in the second round of the 2022 NFL draft, and Moore can be moved around the formation to attack a defense. Missing time with a hamstring injury is problematic for a speed/shifty guy like Moore, and this could keep him from making an early-season impact for the Chiefs. Let's see what he can do in the preseason and training camp. Even though he's missed a lot of time, Fantasy GMs are taking the rookie off the board at WR58 (13.06) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [ATL - RB Patterson May Not Carry Full Load](=) Source: Josh Kendall - The Athletic Josh Kendall, from The Athletic, reports Atlanta Falcons RB Cordarrelle Patterson is going to be the starter but may not carry a full load for the team in 2022. "The 10th-year veteran will be Atlanta's starting running back this season, but that doesn't mean he will be its most-used running back." writes Kendall. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Falcons drafted Tyler Allgeier out of BYU in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL draft. He's a big back, weighing in at 220 pounds, and Allgeier is known to have an ability to pick up the tough yards. The Falcons should use Patterson as their starter and as a receiver out of the backfield. However, he's going to split time with Allgeier who could get short-yardage and goal-line work. Fantasy GMs should look at Patterson as an RB2/flex option with upside in PPR formats. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [LAR - QB Stafford Has Better Understanding]() Source: Stu Jackson - TheRams.com Stu Jackson, from TheRams.com, reports Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford has a better understanding of the Rams offense than he did in 2021. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Shanahan offense that Sean McVay runs with the Rams is one of the most complex in the league. It's not only the language of the offense, it's the fact that various terms can mean something completely different based on the personnel placed on the field. Now that Stafford is more comfortable in the nuances of the offense, he should be able to make it even more of a high-powered unit than it was last year when the Rams won the Super Bowl. Stafford is currently going off the board at QB9 (7.02) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [LAR - Inaccurate throws foiled WR Allen Robinson last year]( Source: Sports Info Solutions Los Angeles Rams WR Allen Robinson was thrown a catchable ball on only 46 of his 67 targets in 2021 as a member of the Chicago Bears, according to Sports Info Solutions. The resulting catch percentage of 68.7 was the seventh-lowest mark of any receiver with at least 50 targets last year. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Robinson has never played with a quarterback like Matthew Stafford. For the entirety of his career, Robinson has had to perform with substandard quarterback play. That won't be the case in 2022, and it's why we're excited about his prospects this season. His current ADP is WR29 (6.10) in 12-team PPR leagues. Even with WR Cooper Kupp there as a WR1, Robinson could post career-best numbers as a WR2 in 2022. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [TB - Optimism that WR Chris Godwin will be ready for opener]( Source: JoeBucsFan.com Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin (knee) is reportedly 'crushing his rehab' from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in Week 15, allowing the team to be hopeful he will be cleared to practice during training camp. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] All reports about Godwin this offseason have been positive. However, the team might start him on the PUP list when training camp opens. They can activate him at any time after that (during camp), and Godwin is unlikely to get much usage in the preseason as he continues his recovery. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [KC - WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling didn't get much help in 2021]( Source: Sports Info Solutions Kansas City Chiefs WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling was thrown a catchable ball on only 29 of his 55 targets in 2021 as a member of the Green Bay Packers, according to Sports Info Solutions. The resulting catch percentage of 52.7 was the lowest of any receiver with at least 50 targets last year. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Valdes-Scantling was often a receiver QB Aaron Rodgers targeted on downfield shots, and his average depth of target in 2021 was 17.9 yards. Now with the Chiefs, Valdes-Scantling should continue to be a downfield threat. However, QB Patrick Mahomes should have more play-action opportunities to hit a guy like Valdes-Scantling on deep shots. Last year Mahomes had 147 attempts off of play-action while Rodgers had just 107 attempts.
