[Footballguys Rankings Enhancements - Player Comments]() I couldn't be more biased, but I think our Footballguys Expert Rankings are the best in the business. And we're constantly trying to improve them. One big way we've done that is making them more than just rankings. For every player listed, you can click the little "notes" icon next to the player's name and all the comments on that player from our various Experts will show with the date. It's especially helpful for a player that's been in the news like Rob Gronkowski. You see not just the ranking but additional insight from the Experts on why they have the player ranked where they do. Whenever one of our Experts has a player on the upper or lower end of the expected range, we ask them to give you a comment to explain why they're higher or lower than most on this player. It's just one more way we try to give our customers the edge they need to win. B. [Crush This Year With A Footballguys Premium Subscription](=) Consistently winning at Fantasy Football is hard. [SF - Optimism for a Deebo Samuel extension]() Source: Pro Football Network - Aaron Wilson There is optimism that the San Francisco 49ers and WR Deebo Samuel will reach an agreement on a 'potentially huge deal,' according to sources. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Zero surprise here. It's all been posturing up to this point with Samuel un-following then re-following the team on social networking. 49ers GM John Lynch has constantly stated that they will work something out with Samuel. His role should change in 2022 as Samuel doesn't want to be used as much as a runner. The 49ers cobbled together an offense last year because they can't fully run the Kyle Shanahan system (mostly due to QB Jimmy Garoppolo) and made it one game from the Super Bowl. That was mostly due to the play of Samuel...and the team seems intent on making it right this season...both financially and on the field. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [PHI - RB Miles Sanders Wants to be Used More]( Source: John Clark - NBC Sports Philly John Clark, from NBC Sports Philly, had Philadelphia Eagles RB Miles Sanders as a guest on his podcast. During the show, Clark asked Sanders if he wants to be used more on offense. "I would love to." Sanders answered. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Sanders didn't score a touchdown last year as a runner or receiver out of the backfield. The Eagles will still rely on QB Jalen Hurts near the goal line, so he takes away some opportunity at the goal line. This year, Sanders should get into the end zone 5-7 times combined and lead the way for the Eagles on the ground. Sanders is an RB3 with upside for Fantasy GMs with a current ADP of RB27 (5.12) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [CLE - RB Kareem Hunt '100 percent' healthy]() Source: 1 No Source Cleveland Browns RB Kareem Hunt says he's fully healthy after battling calf issues last season. 'I'm good, I'm 100 percent, I have some time to heal this offseason and get back to it,' Hunt said. 'So body is feeling good, nothing's bothering me.' Hunt also reiterated that he's hoping to get a contract extension from Cleveland. 'I hope I get paid,' Hunt added. 'So you know, whatever they decide, they know I'm going to come out there and give it my all and I'll do whatever I can to help the team win.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The veteran back is now looking for a new deal...maybe with the Browns. Hunt said he hopes to sign a contract extension with the Browns at some point but is not sure of the team's interest level. He said his agent has had some discussions with the Browns but does not know how far the talks have gone. Nick Chubb is atop the depth chart, but expect the Browns to use Hunt plenty in what could be his final year with the team. Hunt has a current ADP of RB29 (6.07) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [GB - AJ Dillon's role to expand?]( Source: PackersWire - Zach Kruse Green Bay Packers RB AJ Dillon should see his role expand in 2022, Zach Kruse of Packers Wire writes. 'The Packers gave [Dillon] 221 touches but he could handle much more. Expect his role to expand. There's a good chance Dillon and Jones will handle 500 or more total touches in 2022.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's an interesting report, and one that has been speculated about in the fantasy community. What would the Packers look like with Dillon and Jones splitting time? We may find out this season. Without WR Davante Adams, Jones could see increased work in the passing game while Dillon should hold onto the early-down work. Jones is currently RB11 (2.05) while Dillon is RB26 (5.08) in 12-team PPR formats. Those draft positions could draw closer together in training camp and the preseason. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [WAS - More on WR Terry McLaurin deal](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Updating a previous report, Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin received $34.6 million fully guaranteed at signing and another $12.5 million guaranteed in March 2023. The total guarantee is $53.154 million with a $28 million signing bonus. He has roster bonuses at the start of each year and $250,000 escalators each year except the final year based on Pro Bowl appearances. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] McLaurin gets his big-money deal, and there's a chance he posts career-best numbers in 2022. It may sound odd to some, but QB Carson Wentz is the best passer McLaurin has had throwing him the ball in his entire career. Wentz isn't slinging Sammy Baugh, but he should know to get McLaurin the ball early and often. Over his first three pro seasons, McLaurin has finished as the no.24, no.20, and no.24 fantasy receiver (standard leagues). This year, expect McLaurin to break into the top-20 as a consistent WR2 with upside. [SEA - WR DK Metcalf expected to get paid]() Source: Pro Football Network - Aaron Wilson Seattle Seahawks WR DK Metcalf is expected to be one of the next wide receivers to get a contract extension that will make him one of the highest-paid players in the league, per sources. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] With Terry McLaurin getting a three-year, $71 million extension ($53.5 million fully guaranteed) on Tuesday it's now Metcalf's turn to break the bank. Seattle has had conversations, but head coach Pete Carroll termed the talks as 'quiet' with things ramping up in the month of July. Metcalf needs to get his money now as catching passes from QB Geno Smith or QB Drew Lock won't do much to enhance his value. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [CLE - CLE confident in QB Jacoby Brissett]() Source: The 33rd Team - Joe Banner The Cleveland Browns are confident in QB Jacoby Brissett's ability to run the offense if QB Deshaun Watson misses time due to suspension, according to sources. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Brissett has plenty of starting experience, 37 games over the course of his career with most of those starts coming with the Colts (2017 and 2019). He did start five games last year for the Dolphins, setting a career-high in completion percentage (62.9 percent). Brissett is not a great starting option, but he can run the system and won't get too rattled by what defenses throw at him. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [WAS - RB Brian Robinson Goal Line Option?]( Source: Ben Standig - The Athletic Ben Standig, from The Athletic, reports Washington Commanders rookie RB Brian Robinson could be an answer for Washington in goal-line or short-yardage situations. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Commanders want to keep RB Antonio Gibson fresh and could give more carries to the big-bodied rookie when the yards are tougher inside. Gibson is the starter, but Washington's backfield has the looks of a RBBC which could frustrate Fantasy GMs in 2022. Oh yeah, in addition to Gibson and Robinson, J.D. McKissic is there to catch quite a few passes out of the backfield this season. Gibson is getting drafted at RB16 (3.06), McKissic is getting drafted at RB44 (10.03) while Robinson is falling undrafted in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [SEA - K.J. Wright endorses QB Geno Smith](=) Source: I Am Athlete Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith got an endorsement for the starting job from former teammate and free-agent LB K.J. Wright. 'I'll tell you not Baker Mayfield,' Wright said. 'Not Drew Lock. We ain't gonna play those games. I'm team Geno all day.' Wright went on to explain why Smith is his choice. 'Geno was good.. He was scout team quarterback. The dude has a cannon for an arm. He's intellectual, you know, having those two-minute drills during practice throughout the week, the man can play. Just trust him, just trust Geno.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Wright knows Smith's game, and there are plenty of players who feel he deserves a shot as the starter. Lock came over in part of the deal with the Broncos for QB Russell Wilson, but there were rumblings that he was a throw-in that Seattle didn't necessarily want. No matter if that's true or not, Lock is there to push Smith for the starting job...and neither one is a great starting option for Seattle in 2022. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [CLE - NFL won't accept 6-8 games for QB Deshaun Watson](=) Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot The NFL won't accept a suspension of six to eight games for Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson if that's what disciplinary officer Sue L. Robinson decides after hearings, according to a source. It was previously reported that the NFL would likely accept such a ban. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Oh boy, here we go again. The back-and-forth in this situation seems never-ending, as we're waiting for the league to make a decision. Watson could be suspended indefinitely, or he could be suspended for the entire 2022 season or he could get a 6-8 game suspension. Nobody knows and there are various reports about what's going to happen. Hopefully, we'll have clarity and a decision soon.
