[WAS - WR Terry McLaurin agrees to huge three-year pact]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin reportedly agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension worth up to $71 million in new money Tuesday, June 28. The deal reportedly includes a $28 million signing bonus - the largest amount ever given to a receiver - according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Everyone knew a deal would get done, but we felt the Commanders might stretch this thing out at least past the 4th of July if not to the end of the month - right before training camp. Instead, the two sides wrap things up earlier than expected so McLaurin will get all the reps he possibly can with QB Carson Wentz. Fantasy GMs know McLaurin can get it done, and Wentz is the best quarterback he's ever played with. McLaurin has a current ADP of WR19 (4.09) in 12-team PPR leagues. [WAS - QB Carson Wentz impressing](=) Source: ESPN.com - John Keim Washington Commanders QB Carson Wentz impressed the team with a strong arm, his worth ethics and his cognitive abilities. 'There's a lot of different things he's capable of doing,' offensive coordinator Scott Turner said. 'Obviously a very skilled player. You see him out at practice, he's a big, physical guy. He can really push the ball down the field.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] You know the offseason fluff is hitting an all-time high when "Wentz impressing" is the headline. Turner is right about Wentz - his physical skill set has always been impressive. He's a big, strong-armed quarterback who can attack a defense deep. However, the physical skill is easy to see. It's the mental side of the game Wentz needs to get better at. That, and he needs to stay healthy in order to play up to his potential in 2022. Wentz is currently going undrafted in 12-team PPR leagues, and we see him as a low-end QB2 with limited upside. [SF - QB Jimmy Garoppolo to negotiate with interested teams]( Source: SI.com - Albert Breer San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo will receive permission to negotiate his contract with other teams ahead of a potential trade. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Another day, and another story about Garoppolo potentially getting traded. We get it, he's likely to be dealt as the 49ers are moving forward with QB Trey Lance as their starter. Garoppolo should draw interest from a team like the Panthers, but they may be in the mix - perhaps the front-runners - for QB Baker Mayfield. [MIN - QB Cousins From Good to Elite?](=) Source: Arif Hasan - The Athletic Arif Hasan and Chad Graff, from The Athletic, report the Minnesota Vikings offense under new head coach Kevin O'Connell is going to be 'pass happy' this season. That means QB Kirk Cousins is going to have a chance to post elite numbers in 2022. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] While not elite per se, Cousins has been the no.11 and no.9 fantasy quarterback over the last two seasons. This offense is much more explosive, and Cousins has a chance to push higher up the rankings if he masters the system. We like Cousins as a high-end QB2 with upside to finish inside the top-10. His current ADP is likely to rise, as he now sits at QB17 (11.05) in 12-team PPR leagues. [PIT - Top-10 Season Coming for TE Freiermuth?]( Source: Mark Kaboly - The Athletic Mark Kaboly, from The Athletic, reports Pittsburgh Steelers TE Pat Freiermuth could take a big leap in his second season. "He will be a top-10 tight end in the NFL, or maybe higher, at the end of the season," Kaboly reports. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Freiermuth was the no.11 fantasy tight end last year as a rookie. It usually takes time for rookie tight ends to get up to speed, but Freiermuth was the exception to the rule. That means he could continue to take more strides forward with his career in 2022. The Steelers don't have an established no.3 wide receiver, and QB Mitchell Trubisky could be looking to the tight end early and often when under pressure. Freiermuth's current ADP of TE10 (9.01) in 12-team PPR leagues seems about right. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [SEA - TE Fant More Involved?]( Source: Brady Henderson - ESPN.com Brady Henderson, from ESPN.com, believes Seattle Seahawks TE Noah Fant could be more involved this year regardless of who the quarterback is. Henderson reports that "there's a belief in the organization that whichever quarterback ends up starting for Seattle will be more inclined to throw to tight ends than [Russell] Wilson was." [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Fantasy GMs have a higher-than-expected outlook for Fant this season. His current ADP of TE15 (13.01) is a bit alarming as we don't know yet who is going to be the starting quarterback for the Seahawks....and the current choices of Geno Smith or Drew Lock aren't great. Fant flashed talent with the Broncos but former Denver OC Pat Shurmur didn't know how to use him properly. Perhaps that changes and he flourishes, regardless of the QB situation, now that he's in Seattle. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [PIT - QB Pickett Exclusively with Third Team](=) Source: Mark Kaboly - The Athletic Mark Kaboly, from The Athletic, reports Pittsburgh Steelers rookie QB Kenny Pickett worked exclusively with the third-team offense in OTAs and mandatory minicamp. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Zero surprise here. Pickett was the team's first-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft, and he was the only quarterback selected on Day 1. However, the Steelers aren't just going to hand him the job as veteran Mitchell Trubisky is expected to win the starting job to begin the regular season. If/when the Steelers are out of it, or if/when Trubisky struggles, then Pittsburgh could turn things over to Pickett as he's seen as the QB of the future. [BAL - WR Duvernay Hopes to Earn Starting Role]() Source: Clifton Brown - BaltimoreRavens.com Clifton Brown, from BaltimoreRavens.com, reports Baltimore Ravens WR Devin Duvernay hopes to earn a starting role in training camp. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A Pro Bowler as a special teams player last year, Duvernay is looking to do more as a receiver. He's shown flashes, and Duvernay certainly has the speed to take the top off a defense. If your leagues allow fantasy points for return yards, Duvernay is an interesting fantasy option for leagues that have expanded rosters.
