[NFL - TE Rob Gronkowski calling it a career?](=) Source: Jordan Schultz Free-agent TE [Rob Gronkowski](=) (Buccaneers) reportedly will announce his retirement in the near future, according to Jordan Schultz. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Gronkowski has retired...for now. Many speculate - including Gronkowski's own agent - that if QB Tom Brady calls sometime during the season that the future Hall of Fame tight end will answer the call. Cameron Brate is now the unquestioned lead tight end for the Buccaneers with Gronkowski calling it a career...for now. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [CLE - QB Deshaun Watson settles all but four lawsuits]( Source: USA TODAY Sports - Brent Schrotenboer Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson settled all but four of the 24 lawsuits against him, according to attorney Tony Buzbee on Tuesday, June 21. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The other four lawsuits are expected to be settled as well, and the agreements will be kept confidential. Watson did not play last season, and he's expected to face a lengthy suspension this season. The highest-paid player in the league, Watson could be starting for the Browns at some point later in the year. Jacoby Brissett is there to start if/when Watson is suspended. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [JAX - Laviska Shenault looks faster](=) Source: The Florida Times-Union - John Reid Jacksonville Jaguars WR Laviska Shenault Jr. looks faster, according to QB Trevor Lawrence. 'He looks a lot faster,' Lawrence said. 'He's just going to be that guy when you get the ball in his hands, he's going to make the play. I think he's made a big improvement since last season and he's really been attacking it. I think it's showing on the practice field.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Shenault is working to impress the new coaching staff. He's a talented player who could be used like a Cordarrell Patterson but has yet to stay healthy and produce in a couple of pro seasons. Shenault is even working on special teams as a return man to improve his chances of earning more playing time. We like him in deep dynasty because of his natural talent, but it might take a fresh start with a different team for Shenault to jump-start his career. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [JAX - New staff believes in RB James Robinson]( Source: SI.com - John Shipley Jacksonville Jaguars RB James Robinson (Achilles) was called a 'three-down back' by head coach Doug Pederson back in March, according to SI.com's John Shipley. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Everyone should believe in Robinson. Undrafted out of Illinois State in 2020, Robinson rushed for over 1,000 yards as a rookie. He was on his way to doing that again in 2021 before an Achilles' injury ended his season. Robinson is not expected to be ready for the start of training camp, and we could see him miss (or be very limited) a bit of time at the beginning of the regular season. 2021 first-round pick Travis Etienne will be the lead back until Robinson is feeling more like himself. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [PIT - Mataeo Durant pushing for RB2 role?](=) Source: ESPN - Brooke Pryor Pittsburgh Steelers undrafted free-agent Mataeo Durant could 'make a run' at Benny Snell's job as the main backup to Najee Harris, according to ESPN.com Brooke Pryor. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Keep an eye on this situation in training camp. Undrafted out of Duke this year, Durant has good burst to the edge as a runner. He lacks true breakaway speed, but Durant's footwork helps him gash defenses for big plays with efficient movement. Durant needs a lot of work in pass protection, something all rookie RBs need to concern themselves with. He could be an important player for Fantasy GMs who play in deeper leagues and want a handcuff to Harris. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [CLE - D'Ernest Johnson could be on the block?](=) Source: ESPN.com - Jim Trotter Cleveland Browns RB D'Ernest Johnson was left off of the 53-man roster projection submitted by ESPN.com's Jake Trotter on Tuesday, June 21. However, Trotter also notes the former undrafted free agent could be a 'prime training camp trade candidate.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Johnson signed his one-year tender earlier this month, and he's there to be the no.3 back behind starter Nick Chubb and primary backup Kareem Hunt. We've seen Johnson be productive with opportunity, so now he waits his turn for more opportunity - whether that's with the Browns or not. If traded, rookie Jerome Ford would get the opportunity to be the Browns third-string running back. [NYJ - Garrett Wilson an 'immediate contributor'](=) Source: ESPN.com - Rich Cimini New York Jets WR Garrett Wilson is 'projected as an immediate contributor' in the offense, in the opinion of ESPN's Rich Cimini. 'Wilson has a ways to go in terms of mastering the route tree, but there's no doubt about his physical traits. The one that jumps out is his body control, the ability to adjust to off-target throws. He projects as an immediate contributor in the wide receiver rotation.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Wilson was arguably the best wide receiver in the 2022 NFL draft. He's got great ability after the catch, and Wilson has elite-level body control. Wilson has hands, good concentration and knows how to work the sideline or back of the end zone. Many in the scouting community compared him to Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb. There is no doubt Wilson can play, but there is plenty of concern about his QB Zach Wilson. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [DAL - WR Michael Gallup eyeing September return?]() Source: ESPN.com - Todd Archer Dallas Cowboys WR Michael Gallup (knee) 'might not be ready for Week 1, but he should be ready sometime in September,' according to ESPN.com's Todd Archer. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Gallup is coming back from the ACL injury he suffered in Week 17 last year. He's unlikely to be ready for the start of camp, making the PUP list to begin camp an option. Gallup may not go on PUP to start the regular season because that would automatically knock him out for the first six weeks. However, short-term IR is an option that would mean a four-game absence. Or, the Cowboys could carry him active and ease him in sometime in September. Gallup is a WR4 with upside for Fantasy GMs. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [NE - RB James White still not cleared for practice]() Source: ESPN.com - Mike Reiss New England Patriots RB James White (hip) was left off of the 53-man roster projection submitted by ESPN.com's Mike Reiss on Tuesday, June 21. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] There is a good chance that White begins the regular season on the PUP list. The Patriots have a backfield jam-packed with talent. Damien Harris should get most of the carries with Rhamondre Stevenson getting work on the ground and perhaps taking White's role as the pass-catching back. Rookie Pierre Strong has reportedly been standing out at OTAs and minicamp as well. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [TEN - TE Austin Hooper emerging as friendly target]() Source: ESPN.com - Turron Davenport Tennessee Titans TE Austin Hooper 'has already surfaced as one of (Ryan) Tannehill's preferred options in the passing game,' according to ESPN.com's Turron Davenport. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Davenport is one of the best out there covering a team, so Fantasy GMs need to have their antennas up here. The Titans offense will be looking for help in the passing game without A.J. Brown, and that could end up being a few more looks for Hooper than some expect. Hooper is currently going undrafted as the Titans offense hasn't been TE-friendly, so keep him on your waiver wire speed dial just in case. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [HOU - Dameon Pierce has good shot to lead backfield](=) Source: ESPN.com - Sarah Barshop Houston Texans RB Dameon Pierce should have 'plenty of opportunities to take the lead back spot by the end of the season,' according to ESPN.com's Sarah Barshop. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Many reports indicate the team could lean on Marlon Mack to begin the regular season. However, those same reports indicate that Pierce has been impressive this offseason and the rookie could take over as the season goes on. Keep this in mind when you're drafting and want a late-round flier on Pierce. RB55 (12.10) is his current ADP in 12-team PPR formats.
