[DET - D'Andre Swift shining as a receiver](=) Source: DetroitLions.com - Tim Twentyman Detroit Lions RB D'Andre Swift has stood out as a receiver in minicamps. The team worked out without pads and limited contact, and Swift looks stronger without losing his shiftiness. He's expected to be a big part of the passing game again this season. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Swift can do it all, and the Lions are going to feature him both as a runner and receiver out of the backfield. With QB Jared Goff looking to him on underneath routes, Swift should be a great pick for Fantasy GMs in PPR formats. He's an RB1 for Fantasy GMs and could end up as a top-10 player at his position. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [DAL - QB Dak Prescott to run more?]( Source: Dallas Morning News - Michael Gehlken Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott could see an uptick in designed runs in 2022, according to head coach Mike McCarthy. Now more than a year removed from the ankle injury that took his 2020 season, the Cowboys may be more comfortable letting Prescott run more. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Running and keeping plays alive with his feet are a big part of Prescott's game. He can win from the pocket, something that's still necessary in today's NFL, but Prescott can be even more dangerous when he's able to use his legs to either buy time for his arm or gash a defense with his legs. He's a QB1 for Fantasy GMs - no doubt - but he could work into the top-5 at his position if he's running a bit more (and getting some more rushing touchdowns) in 2022. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [DAL - TE Dalton Schultz coming to town]() Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero Dallas Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz will report to camp Tuesday, June 14, as contract talks have intensified in recent days. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Schultz is set to play on the franchise tag, and there is a July 15 deadline to get a long-term deal done. It sounds like things are moving in the right direction. Schultz is a favorite target of QB Dak Prescott, and he should be the second target in the passing game behind WR CeeDee Lamb. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [WAS - TE Logan Thomas hopes for Week 1 return](=) Source: 1 No Source Washington Commanders TE Logan Thomas (knee) is hopeful to be ready for Week 1 of the regular season after tearing his ACL, MCL, and meniscus during the 2021 campaign. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's a huge injury to return from, and Thomas is trying to come back from this injury that he suffered last December. If he's not ready, the Commanders have John Bates as their top pass-catching tight end. [LAR - Optimistic About Deal with WR Beckham](=) Source: Jordaun Rodrigue - The Athletic In an interview with The Athletic, Rams COO Kevin Demoff said the team is optimistic that they can get a deal done with Odell Beckham Jr. "If we didn't have a salary cap, we could've signed Odell months ago and would've loved to," Demoff said. "Is it a multi-year deal, is it a one-year deal? All kinds of variables that come into Odell. The one variable that hasn't changed is how much we love him and want him to be here. I think he's expressed, over social, his desire to be here. Am I optimistic we can get a deal done over time? Yes." [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Beckham has not generated much interest on the open market, in part because he's recovering from the ACL injury he suffered in the Super Bowl with the Rams. It sounds like they'll be ready to bring him back at the right time. Reports from earlier this offseason indicated Beckham will not be ready for the start of the regular season. That means starting on the PUP list is most likely for the veteran receiver when he's signed by a team...likely the Rams. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [PIT - QB Trubisky Has Significant Head Start](=) Source: Mark Kaboly - The Athletic Mark Kaboly, from The Athletic, reports the quarterback competition for the Pittsburgh Steelers "will be more for show than substance" and that QB Mitch Trubisky has a significant head start. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Nobody should really be surprised by this headline - especially in mid-June. Trubisky is a seasoned veteran with plenty of starting experience. Kenny Pickett, 2022 first-round pick, is seen as the quarterback of the future but the team is not going to rush him into the starting lineup. We'll get a better feel for how far Pickett is away from starting during training camp and the preseason. He may not begin the season as the starter, but there's a chance the Steelers turn to Pickett later in the year. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [TEN - Treylon Burks not practicing to start minicamp]() Source: TitanInsider.com - Terry McCormick Tennessee Titans WR Treylon Burks (undisclosed) didn't practice as the team started minicamp Tuesday, June 14. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Burks has not had a great start to his young pro career. Now, it's super early and it's just mandatory minicamp but the guy who is essentially replacing A.J. Brown (and his team) would likely want to get off to a better start. Drops have plagued Burks when he's out there in addition to conditioning issues in rookie minicamp and dealing with asthma in practice as well. The 2022 first-round pick could be in for a sizeable role with the Titans this year, so we'll see how he responds in training camp. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [ATL - Atlanta holds RB Cordarrelle Patterson out of minicamp](=) Source: AtlantaFalcons - Tori McElhaney Atlanta Falcons RB Cordarrelle Patterson won't participate during minicamp due to a coach's decision, head coach Arthur Smith said Tuesday, June 14. Smith said they want to be smart with Patterson to keep him fresh for the regular season. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Patterson is their do-everything running back who can play wide receiver and is basically a Swiss Army knife for the offense. It's wise to keep him fresh for the regular season, and his usage in the preseason might be minimal. Fantasy GMs are best to add Patterson as a RB2 with upside to be a low-end RB1. The Falcons don't have much offensive firepower outside of him and TE Kyle Pitts, so the veteran Patterson should be used extensively. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks. Thanks for reading and thanks for being part of the Footballguys Family.
